Did anyone watch the academy awards on Sunday. I didn't but I read that Meryl Streep won for best actress in the Iron Lady, that's the movie about the former prime minister of Britian. The movie The Artist won for best picture, that surprised me because I understand it's a black and white and there is no talking, it's a silent film. Are we going back in time? or what? People like the old movies, again, I guess. Ha! Ha! It's funny but anyway, just wondered what your thoughts were. oh,yea, saw the picture of Angelina Jolie's leg showing, also, she's such a showoff and tramp, isn't she? Share your thoughts, My Lot friends!

I felt the same way about The Artist, until I saw it. Its a recap of how film was in the beginning days of the oscars, before the talkies started taking over, and it's a true story of one of the biggest stars in Hollywood, who fell out of the picture when the talkies started to take over. I really think it deserved the oscar for Best Picture, it was my pick going into the oscars. I didn't like Angelina, though... she had a great body when she was bigger, perfect shape to her, and ultra sexy... now, she looked like she was anorexic, and it looked just plain gross. I didn't even recognize her at first, I was saying, "Who's that tramp sitting next to Brad Pitt?" What I was really happy about, was Hugo being the top winner, about Christopher Plumber winning best supporting actor (which, I think he deserves, he was great in Beginners), and Midnight in Paris winning best original screenplay. Those were some of my big picks of the night. I was hoping that the visual effects would have been won by Planet of the Apes, but you can't get everything you want!

I'm surprised that not many people admire Angelina. Oh, well there are other actresses out there more beautiful and talented, right?

hhah Ecaron- we're talking about Meryl Streep and Glenn Close..these women are far from the sexy and beauty sort of actress..theyre purely just all acting talents. Jolie is good too.she still can give a good acting when the movie requires her to do so..like IN Changeling..and the one she won an oscar for a while ago Girl Interrupted...

yes..Meryl won for the third time the oscar for Best actress if im not mistaken..was hoping Glenn Close winning it..but Meryl is the academy;s fav. The Artist is B&W and silent film..but made in extraordinary precision..suits the people of 21st century..very emotional..of the ups and down of life..and love.. i was very into WAR HORSE by spielberg(who also won best picture many years ago with another Black and white picture SChindlers List) but WAR HORSE didnt win..anything..at all.i think its way brilliant than THe Artist.

I was hoping for Glen Close, too, but Maryl Streep did such an incredible job in the Iron Lady, it was hard to beat her. I was also bigger on the Artist winning then War Horse... I really didn't like some of the things behind the storyline of warhorse, and that really took away from the movie for me.

I don't watch the Oscars or any of the Awards Shows. To me it is a time for people with big egos to have a chance to show off once again. They go around and showoff saying look at me I am the greatest.

I have not seen any of the mentioned movies, but it seems odd to me that black and white silent movie should win a movie award nowadays. Anyway, I do not care for watching who won what. I think most celebrities are showoffs. Anyway, Angelina's face does seem to pop up everywhere way too often.

I wasn't able to watch the awards but saw the red carpet pictures online. I haven't watched the movie Artist so I can't say what my opinion would be on it. Maybe it did deserve to win even if it was a silent film as long as the film has substantial content...
