going through a hard time

Sorry the computer was down again. This time it was the old 13 year old monitor I had that blew, then the mouse wouldn’t work. I replaced both of them but at a terrible cost, meaning I can’t pay some of my bills for the month of March, the month of my birthday because of it. On a good note, I have been officially accepted to go on the waiting list for a low rental. I am number 249 so it could take a long time before I get one. I live in fear every day that my electricity will go out. Today the electricity went out in parts of the house and the oven wouldn’t go on, now it just did, but it is all electricity related. Please pray that I will get my low rental quickly and there will be no more electricity issues in this house. Thanking you all in advance. To make this into a discussion is anyone else going through a hard time right now?

WE are having to have the pool redo all over for the first one skipped the country with the money and that leaves us with no warranty. and have to hire a new person with no telling how much it will cost and if he will do monthly payments for what we cant pay right now. My son drives a 18 wheeler and it blew up so looks like I will have to help him too so everything went on hold of when they get to move out here to be close to us sighhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

A computer monitor and mouse cost almost nothing, so I'm not certain why you paid a "terrible cost" for them. Often, people are all but giving away those parts. A lot of us end up with extra parts floating around for whatever reason, and we end up selling those parts for almost nothing or just donating them because we simply don't have the space for them anymore. I don't know what is going on with your electricity, but it sounds like there is the potential for an electrical fire. If that is a rental, your landlord has a legal responsibility to ensure that the house is habitable.

Personally I think it is hard for many people right now. We continue to see the price of Food going up, utilities going up, gas prices going up and it seems like their is really no end in sight. And then to top it off even with the 2 of us working there is all my Medical bills and issues and sometimes it seems to never end. Even to the point many times where we cannot buy food like we need to just to keep all the Bills paid.

I'm so sorry you are having such trouble. I'm living in a stable place, but they just raised my rent, by a lot. My family situation is pretty bad, but I'm trying to think positive. I know what's like to wait on housing, so I hope things work out for you soon.

it is hard when you have to juggle things around money wise and figuure out which ones you will pay this month and which ones you will pay next month. we live paycheque to paycheque and have pretty much no savings, so i know what you mean. hopefully things will work out for you.

Wow, we are in so much trouble. I, too fear that any time soon my electricity will be cut off, because I haven't payed bills yet. My internet connection is about to go too. There are a lot more which I do not even dare to say as thinking of it just makes me ore depressed and frustrated. I don't know how to start again. I just hope and pray that the people who owe me starts paying now so I could pay off some of my bills.

I will pray for you that things turn around. it is lucky that you were accepted on the waiting list. Here the waiting list is long and you have to meet a very strict criteria. I have never applied myself but I have known people who have. Good luck with it all. Right now things are on the level for us. Of course they have not been for the past several months. We have really been struggling for the past 4 years to be honest about it. Right now my hubby has a decent job and he has decent benefits and that means the world to us. He has had to have several things go wrong over the past seven months and fortunately his health insurance footed most of the bill. I am back online after a 7 month gap due to the fact that we had to cut back costs. I hope to earn enough monthly to keep the net on and help him out with gas money. The gas prices are rising here and by the summer time we will be lucky to be able to afford to go to the grocery store. We pray alot about it all.

Here in the UK people are throwing away monitors that work just get the flat screen ones. All old computer parts are being dumped all the time. It is sad that you are in such a bad position, I don't really understand what you mean buy a low rental and why you have to be on a list. If you were in UK and on a low income you would be on benefits and that would mean you would pay little or no rent as a matter of coarse and probably if you have disabilities you may pay little or no local tax. There is no point in forcing people into further hardship. When you get your low rental does that mean you move into other accommodation.

a low rental is a place that is operated by the government and is very cheap, there is a waiting list of 22,000 people because there are more people needing this kind of housing than there is housing available. So I am lucky to get on the list with the number I have. I don't know how long it will take to get a place, it could be a few months to several years. The UK has a better more social system than the USA or even Canada where I live.

housing is provincial so in canada it will not be uniform, this is how it is in Quebec, it could be better in other parts of the country.

Our social system used to very good with local authorities owning housing that could be rented but these homes have now been taken over by housing associations and it will just be a matter of time before that goes sour. The housing benefit is still in the hands of the local authority, so from that point of view it's not so bad YET!! I did think that the situation in Canada was not so bad so thanks for putting me right.
