Have you heard of this tablet. It is comparable to Ipad when it comes to screen size but it only have one camera in front (no rear camera). But it is half the price of an Ipad so I think it is worth it. Anyone bought this brand before? The product description is found on the link on the subject because I cannot paste information on the message yet.

I haven't used this particular tablet but the model you mention is cheap/reduced because it is an old model (running Android Froyo 2.2). The latest model (Le Pan II at $349) is faster and lighter, has a dual-core processor, runs Android 3.2 and is upgradeable to the latest Ice Cream Sandwich (v. 4). You should note that the Le Pan (I) is NOT upgradeable. Although the reviews are generally excellent, you should note that a number of people have had problems with wi-fi connectivity. Although the cheaper model is good value for money at $198, the newer one is still $100 cheaper than the iPad.

At $349, I'd go for the Motorola Xoom, you can get them refurbished at around that price. It's much more versatile and they are known for build quality.

Thanks for mentioning these pointers. Now I'm having second thoughts if I will buy that tablet. But I will consider these factors before I make any decision.

iPads are obsolette. I wouldn't buy a tablet anymore. I had a iPad2 for some days and I've got bored the first day I had it. You can connect to the Internet only by wireless, the screen is hilariously small, the screen can't be use for drawing (expert drawing, not children drawing), and the price is too damn high for no particular reason (just because it is Apple made). Alternatives for the iPad are many, and almost all of them worthy of detailed analasis.

Buyer beware: Le Pan is a brand I've heard about, and it is a fairly good quality, however, this particular tablet is a bit behind the times. The main thing you want to check is the processor/RAM specs on an Android tablet. This tablet has a single-core, 1GHZ processor and 1GB of RAM. That tablet has been otu of date for OVER A YEAR. You will see it lag up. You will see it freeze up. It will not play HD games. It might restart when you try out a new app. If you need a cheaper tablet, my personal suggestion would be to go to www.woot.com, and search for refurbished tablets. At $200, you can get a Kindle Fire, which is a great tablet, but it cannot access the Android Market, it uses Amazon's App Store. This will end up with you paying for some apps that are normally free, and missing out on some others. If you want a good tablet, Android is great for tablets because it has a more intuitive OS for larger screens, but for a good device, you will spec a MINIMUM of $325. I hope that helps!
