Discrepencies between physical evidence and Zimmerman police report, attorney

You've probably seen the copy of the police report that's been published[1] in which Officer Timothy Smith states, "While I was in such close contact with Zimmerman, I could observe that his back appeared to be wet and he was covered in grass, as if he had been laying on his back on the ground. Zimmerman was also bleeding from the nose and back of his head." You've probably also heard Zimmerman's attorney claim that Trayvon Martin had broken his nose.[2] You probably even heard the Sanford PD Chief Lee say there was physical evidence to support Zimmerman's story. I don't know what evidence Lee was thinking of, but it wasn't this: http://www.miamiherald.com/2012/03/28/2719868/network-broadcasts-surveillance.html http://usnews.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/03/29/10915887-police-video-shows-george-zimmerman-shortly-after-trayvon-martin-shooting http://www.csmonitor.com/USA/Latest-News-Wires/2012/0329/New-police-video-casts-doubt-on-George-Zimmerman-injuries Video of police bringing George Zimmerman to the Sanford Police station. No broken nose. No bleeging nose or neck. No bruises. Not even the grass stains. Don't take my word for it, click the links and watch the video for yourself. Now, it wouldn't be the first time someone lied to cover up a crime, nor would it be the first time someone's lawyer lied to get their client off. It wouldn't even be the first time both lied very poorly. But I'm really eager to hear how Officer Smith reconciles his police report with the physical evidence. I doubt I'm alone in that regard. So, now the conspirator is the responding officer? I guess he got to the scene and decided to construct a cover-up by putting in false notes on the condition of Zimmerman? And what about the paramedics who attended to Zimmerman? Do you have the ambulance run report and their notes on his condition and their treatment of him? In order for the cover up to work, they would have to be in it, too. They would have to document that they treated injuries that didn't really exist. Of course, you could look at this logically and realize that part of treating wounds is cleaning them. This would involve washing away the blood. Trust me, if you are ever treated by paramedics or a nurse in an ER and they send you out after treatment with blood and dirt all over the wound and still bleeding, you should sue. The police report notes that Zimmerman's jacket is wet and covered with grass - not grass stains. If you lie down on wet grass when it has recently been cut, you could get actual grass sticking to your clothes, which might fall off or be brushed off later when the jacket and grass have dried. Sorry, a video that doesn't show blood AFTER the wounds have been attended to is not any evidence of whether there was blood prior to the treatment. Let's use our logic here. As for a broken nose, that is a clinical diagnosis. Bruising may not occur immediately or at all, and unless breathing is obstructed or there is a major deformity, they don't do anything to treat a broken nose. Again, we have the public viewing a video and taking a popular vote on a man's guilt, and now even on whether the police are guilty of a conspiracy that would have to include the Fire Department as well. Explain to me again, why do we want mob rule?

I've broken my nose three times. Only once did it bleed. And in all three instances, you couldn't really tell I was "injured" until the next day. Now, everything else about the post aside and just speaking of a broken nose, it seems like people expect an Owen Wilson-looking snausage with blood pouring out of it and two black eyes.

Sorry, but when it is a supposed white on black crime, it seems mob rule is the law of the land. Especially when Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are pushing things along, and when our President, who couldn't wait to tell us his son would look like Trayvon, suddenly goes silent when the Black Panthers put out a bounty on Zimmerman, and when stars give out false home addresses, and Senators scream on the Senate floor to incite people further because it's obvious our Senators don't give a rat's fanny about keeping peace in our cities. And let's not forget the students storming out of school to 'honor Trayvon' by wrecking the local Walgreen's store. Yes, mayhem is the issue of the day and seems to be lauded by our leaders and too many who are not waiting for the law to do its job.

I find it strange that a half-White president would liken his imaginary son to a black person born to two black parents. Zimmerman and Obama are more alike, both half white and light skinned. but instead of calling him a latino, they call him white. remember your history? back during slavery or reconstruction days, if you had ONE drop of black blood you were BLACK. It was a discriminatory social rule and in some places law. Now, if you have one drop of white blood, you are suspect? If you're logical in your thinking, where does this leave our 'black president'? Do you, when you read this, feel as if I am being somehow 'racist'? I am mimicing the mind set of those who are judging Zimmerman as white, am I not?

What am I supposed to be looking for? Blood? On a 1080p monitor with a GTX 460 GPU, I think I'm viewing this video about as clearly as it can be viewed on a PC. True, I can't see any blood. But I also cannot tell if his nose is broken or not. And I definitely cannot tell a bruise from his skin. On my LG HDTV, if this was in HD, I'd have trouble seeing bruises given his skin tone. So the only thing I can agree with you on about this is that there's no blood. I don't see a drop. The rest, however, is far too difficult to see.

Yeah, I saw the video and heard the 911 calls, and to me, it looks like Zimmerman's fault. I didn't see any injuries on Zimmerman like he claimed. The police told him not to follow Trayvon Martin and Zimmerman did it anyway.

Like I said, you can't see any blood or injuries, so if he did get beaten up by Trayvon Martin like Zimmerman says he did, then where is the blood and where are the injuries? There would even be blood on his clothes, and you can't see the blood on his clothes.

The rest of the police tape when played indicates Zimmerman agreed with the police, but I heard that part of the tape played about once on a tiny radio station.

I've been beaten up many times by a drunk husband, only bled once, when I ran and fell. so, no blood isn't really a factor here, and he was treated by paramedics, they'd have washed it off his head to clean the wound.

Are you aware that he received first aid before being taken into the police station? The video is too grainy for me to be able to see if he is or isn't injured since obviously any blood would have been cleaned off his face and head during the first aid he received.

The video is of far to low of quailty to get any good read on wether or not his story is true. It does look like one of the officers is looking at the back of his head and seems to of found what it was that he was looking for. I have a feeling that the Media is blowing this up and its going to end up if it goes to trial being a Casey Anthony trail all over again.

Unfortunately you are right. It's like a threat of snow. Suddenly the weatherman is having his day so it becomes the blizzard of the century possibly moving in instead of the flurries it will probably be.

The more and more I hear about this case. The more and more I am in aw of how this guy is still walking free. Now a witness has come out and it just is not adding up in Zimmerman's favor. I have been hearing how Zimmerman got his head slammed against the concrete, I am just wondering why they did not take this guy to the hospital. The only thing I can think of he was not hurt as bad as they said he was. From the tape he looked to be walking just fine for someone who just had his head slammed against the concrete.

Even with my good computer, it is hard to see if Zimmerman had or had not injuries. You have to have a before and after photo taken of him, not of being joust warned and following the youth. Also I have had a bleeding nose frequently, and it does stop. I do think he should have left matters to the police rather then take matters in his own hand. Also there was that witness and if he was impartial, the truth will come out.

Well, considering there is an investigation INTO THEIR actions in reporting, I guess they felt they should start at least pretending to be impartial.

http://newsbusters.org/node/12761 Awhile back, the press jumped to judgment against a sports team. It was all over the news then too, how horrible it was for these rich white guys to have done this. At the same time in news 'history' this horrible crime went unreported. Could it possibly be that the press loves to stir up racial animosity and division? I already know what your answer will be like. But, I'd like for your readers to ponder this, so really, don't bother to use your 'logic' and 'fairness' in answering me. The fact is, there is an agenda behind this Zimmerman case. The mainstream media (MSNBC)left out part of the 911 call to make it sound as if Zimmerman was racially profiling Martin. People could die still over this because people are promoting Zimmerman as a monster instead of waiting for the investigation to finish. It is irresponsible to further the h@te that is behind this rush to judgment. The same h@te is behind it, that you claim Zimmerman is guilty of.

Bottom line there needs to be an arrest. I've heard so many stories and it all sounds like Zimmerman made them all up. he killed a boy and he should be punished for his actions. Its quite obvious that he is guilty and it seems like the Sanford Police department has something to hide. There have been many marches and rallies but nothing has happened as of yet. Any body else would have been arrested by now.

The judicial system works in ways that are really difficult for the general public to understand. They will always require complete evidences that have no loopholes in order for the accused to be charged as guilty without reasonable doubt. With the case about Zimmerman, it really did have a lot of loopholes, especially about the grainy video that was presented as evidence.
