This kind of punishment can never be the way . Where is the punishment ? 100 years hard prison without the chance of coming out again . That´s a real punishment . Killing is comfortable and it costs little . But from the moralic point of view it´s absolutly wrong .

As already stated, my concern, too, is someone wrongly convicted, executed - and then the mistake discovered. Once someone is executed, there is no way to bring the person back, or compensate the person's family. If the person is guilty, being in a small cell with no amenities for the rest of one's life is a miserable, yet fitting, existence.

As I said, a small cell, no amenities, such as no t.v. all day, plain food, minimal everything - no luxuries. I have no problem with books and reading but t.v. is passive entertainment at best.

There is no right punishment. Some people will continue to be criminals. They need to be locked up for life. But there are others who react well with being in jail and actually learn something from it and better themselves and their communities. I've seen plenty of ex-gangsters and whatnot come out of jail and try to help the youth in their communities. It's just something a lot of people don't hear about or realize.

What always bothered me about it was what if they exicuted a innocent person? I believe they have done that many times before. Its really hard for me because i have a daughter that is in prison for murder. I believe its one of the worse crimes ever. To take the live of another. There are so many things to consider too. Some people are mentally ill that causes them to do things they wouldnt do in their right mind. I believe that to be the case of my daughter. Then there are people that have been abused either by a parent or a spouse and in their minds they belive that the only way to excape the oppressor is to kill them.

It's tempting to want to kill someone who's done some terrible things, but my own view is that two wrongs don't make a right, plus there have been lots of cases where people have been wrongly convicted of things and if they were executed, then they've been killed for nothing.

Hello celtic. You said that they have been killed for nothing. why did you say so? I think it will make people afraid to do the criminals. It is good, right?

I dislike the idea of killing a person who killed a person. There's a small amount of hypocrisy involved in this for me. I mean, sure, some people who do horrendous things (like serial killers) deserve to die - in my opinion - but I don't know that the actual practice of using capital punishment is RIGHT. Is "an eye for an eye" really the best way to punish a person? At what point are they allowed to repent? There's a lot to it all, and it kind of gives me a head ache. Luckily I live in Minnesota where we do not have capital punishment.

haha.. Yes maezee, i also got headache of thinking this. So in your opinion, what is the best way? Note that the punishment must make they repent as like you said. Is it the mistake of the law?

It has both pros and cons here..For some case it is needed while we still can tolerate. It is really hard to decide but we need this penalty for those who were proven guilty- its a lesson for those who not take it for granted.

It's ancient practice, why stop it now, some people just don't deserve to live, don't want to live right and are not able to be rehabilitated...yes, i like CapitalPunishment!
