Hello. I want to learn more about investing money and buying stocks. I dont want to just jump in and lose all my money. I realize investing is not guarenteed but Id love a better chance to earn some extra dough. Are there any books or sites you would recomend to a first time buyer?

I learn investing from people who are investors themselves. I buy their books, and learn from their experiences. Books like "Learn to Earn by Peter Lynch", and the books like "Rich Guide to Investing by Robert Kiyosaki".

Our church is part of a senate. They have financial people to help parishioners with questions just like this for free. See if you can find someone like this to help you understand the ins and outs of investing money and or help guide you through the process.

this is a good question. i too have been looking to invest. see, i have come into early retirement. i am not even thirty, but i am retired. this is because i am a disabled u.s. service veteran. lol. i'm not sugggestion that you go into the military to achieve that. kind of extreme. lol. my point is that i just got my lump some and it's locked up for me and my kids until i figure out what to do with it.
i have an appointment with my bank about these kinds of things in the next couple of days. from what i am hearing, the best thing to invest in no a days is gold. in this economy, no one seems to trust anything. gold seems to be on the rise, when everything is not and it's been that way for the last 10 years and climbing. i have been thinking about that. first, i must do some research. i will post up what i found out when i did. another great conversation happy thoughts.
