So what if they are newbies?

Newbies could be newbies in myLot but they could be great achievers in their real life. I have spotted some interesting newbies here - the quick way in which they have grasped what needs to be grasped so that their participation is a pleasure to watch. Better watch out folks. They could teach you a thing or two!

Some newbies are not new to the site, they may be old person returning after a pause like me lol. Sometimes it happens as like you said, they will teach the old ones or even made them to think with their questions. That is true fun in the mylot that people would tend to help easily by the old member if it is a right question.

Those who have come back are not included in the list of newbies!. Their participation has a trade mark and it shows.

Yes newbies like you fall in another category... Must be missing smilies and few other features, like I was missing when I created new account.

Newbies - on myLot? Yes, "newbies" or "senior" is just a matter of time they joined here . By being newbies, it doesn't mean they don't know anything. And also, by being senior, it doesn't mean they know everything. I never underestimate newbies, as well as I never give too much respect or compliment to senior :p

Gasp! We think we are infallible? It's news to me! No actually I know I'm not without fault, and I am sure a lot of the more senior members then myself will step up to the plate and agree.

We need as many newbies as we can get. The only way to make this successful is to swell the ranks of members.

Well newbies are newbies, I am glad you've spotted what seems to be a majority that grasp what needs to be grasped and in quick time too. There is another site I am on that comes to mind, and they need to be taught a thing or two! I'm not around the newbies here as much as I was to know how they act much anymore.

myLot could be confusing as many of us here have observed but I admire those newbies who have started on the right foot gliding with their skates on with ease.

Perhaps you were one of those who did everything right, the moment you walked in here. I cannot say that about myself although I did get my 10 star rating pretty early but lost it thanks to some of the oldbies who chose to misunderstand what I had said despite trying to explain. Never mind. That is past me now. I am happy here and that is all that matters!

What do you consider a newbie? And, when do you consider one a senior member? Is it measured by the number of posts one has made, or the star rating, or how fast they get a grip of how myLot works.

It is just a feeling I suppose the individual gets as either being a newbie or a veteran. I feel I am a veteran. What about you? Where do you belong?

I felt that I had 'reached' when I was able to make suggestions to myLot which were accepted, clearing doubts raised by other users, et al. You belong to the list of newbies in my opinion that have 'reached'!

Well, I've only been here for a little over a month. So, I'm technically a newbie and still learning strategies and techniques from seniors around. There are things that I thought i already read from the guidelines, but suddenly it would surprise me to find out, I didn't really get the full picture of it. Experience is somehow the best way to learn things here in myLot. And, I asked that question above, because I'd want to know if you guys (seniors) have some way of measuring a member's status, to be a newbie or a senior. From your experience, at what point did you realize you've become a vet at this?

I really like the idea of this discussion. As a newbie, it's easy to get picked on..especially if you don't know what you're doing. But ^^ I'm a newbie here, so I know there will be moments when I won't know that I'm doing. After all, one shouldn't judge another based on status. :D At least that's what I think about that.

One of the consequences of my notifications not working is I am having to explore some of the tabs at the top, like "recent". I am meeting newcomers all over the place and they can be quite excellent. They are helping keep my brain cells stirred up to say the least.

So. What say GG? Think twice before assuming that newbies are beginners and nothing more? After all ASSUME is to make an AS.S of U and ME!As you know I cannot put those letters AS and S together. myLot does not allow it!

hi all knowing I know of several that seem born to be mylotterrs as they have grasped everything so am really happy to see them and they make some really interesting discussions. there is one more I cannot name but if he would slow down and respond to our responses he is a natural with very interesting discussions but he has as yet to learn to respond back to us when he does hw will shine too.we can always learn from newbies and oldbies too, don't discount us oldies as we can do good too every once in awhile.

Whoah! They must be smart guys. Well speaking of newbies, I was once like them. The one who brought me here did not tell me anything except discussions... That I 'll just participate in discussions, that's all. :-)

Well, everyone of us started out as newbies. And here we all are doing our best to "share" stuff here and being careful of minding all the guidelines lest we incur the wrath of the admin in here and get those ominous MyLot Notification-s. And, just like offline work, young ones (or newbies) could always bring in something fresh. Besides, I'm missing a lot of "senior" members here and I feel sad that they have moved on somewhere else and have no intentions of coming back, but, I see some new names with interesting new ideas and MLotting becomes fun again.

Yes. myLot indeed is a mixture of the old and the new which makes it interesting in that one can look forward to some new blood now and then. A time comes when even the tastiest food one gets tired of and opts out of eating it again. And myLot is no exception.

Hi Even I saw few interesting newbies, which having very few posts but they are working quite smartly.. They are really doing great from starting. There are few newbies which are here and breaking some rules without reading guidelines but I am glad we having few smarter too. Every time I see them discussing here they sounds like some old lotter.
