lol.i am referring to the CCTV lol. The office just decided to install cameras around the office...for security purposes as the managers gets death threats. ohhhh.. anyways i think it will be awkward to have those cameras around.. i mean even when i drink water or take a sip of tea..they will know it hahahahah what about if i want a bit of chitchat to a colleague, i won't be able to do it too right?? i mean it would be documented there! but surely we will be able to catch the ghosts around the perimeter. anyone of you with cctv in your office?

At first congratulation that you are going to be a star. lol. Yes, we have the same situation now. I mean my college authority is thinking to implement cctv on my college. Even i have visited a college where each classroom is recorded on cctv and the principal is able to view.lol have a nice time.

I guess that gives the principal something to do with his time, right? We must all be on our guard and cctv everything anymore.

If the claim to justify installing CCTV in each classroom was to help the college administration to improve the overall quality of delivery in teaching, then perhaps, the academic performance of the college could be enhanced. Also, if this activity was done in order to enhance the security and saftey procedures and wellbeing of the college population, I am ok with that. Otherwise, I would be concerned about the motive being contemplated.

There is no CCTV where we work. I guess it costs much, so I don't see it any time in the future. However, sometimes we suspect that our evil boss has rigged our office and set up hidden cameras and recorders because there's nothing we discuss that he doesn't already know! One time, we'd be discussing a certain topic and then he'd call us, and then we'd discuss that same topic! Or he would be mouthing words (as is say them verbatim) that we have said. That, or there is a filthy rat among us.

I have worked in houses where there was video and audio monitors. The truth is that they usually do not watch and review them unless there is a problem. It made me feel self conscious anyway. You will have to invest in a new wardrobe now to be all glamorous for the camera. Good excuse, right?

Actually security cameras can be quite useful if a crime is committed or other abuses.

You must be more conscious now in your action or try to hide on the camera where you can't be reach. Always think now that your a star and try to make a pose haha. Well that's only a joke. I never tied to work in a police that has a camera. Those days are still not so hightech like now.

lyn, Jazel is not working with any police- but maybe she will have to play like a police soon, because she cannot do mylot once the CCTV cam is working and spinning it's eyes around. So, jazel should be on "alert"always like a police with her eyes also spinning towards the cam's direction

That's it, no more picking your nose from here on out... We have CCTV in our building, but not in the office itself. Reception, where our administrator/receptionist sits is in full view of one of the cameras and I know that it makes her a little self-conscious...

they have them in the new tustin library and theyt have s aved a tron of lost books in like someone just walking out wiht a new book under his or her shirt. even with the chips in the books we had a back door that was not sensitized because they felt it was too expensive and so thieves used the back door and got away free wih expensive books.with video they will see the person stick a book u nder their clothes and can apprehend them.We should have had them in the old library bu t they had refused on grounds of cost y et the loss of books was really a big cost.

Yey, your a star now . We do have a cctv cam but it is not inside our office but in the hallway of our office. I am not sure if we have it here inside for I haven't seen any. Also, I am not sure if the cctv cam in the hallway is working, don't see any lights on so I really can't tell. And yes, it will be hard for you to do the regular things you do now that you can be seen easily by the cam.

We don't have the CCTV inside our laboratory but we have several outside and around the feedmill. One of my colleagues told me a funny story about her being caught in the CCTV. We had a staff inside the plant and she happened to live in one of the rooms there. She had her washed cloths hang dry under the sun then afternoon came and the clouds got dark and the rain was ready to pour anytime so she ran as fast as she could. She was unaware that one of the CCTV was facing the way to the staff house and so that running moment was captured and watched by our bosses. My colleague is a voluptuous woman so you can imagine that all that "belongings" shake when she run. Lol!

In our office there is CCTV cams installed since long time back. About 5 years back, with in a span of 15 days time, about 7 laptops were disappeard and it was not able to find out the culprits and immediately after the incident the office installed the cameras and still there were such incidents happend. Due to security reasons, it become so common even in buildings and homes also. We are losing trust and people become more and more agressive towards humanity. All goodness from the people are disappearing and we are living just like man machines.

Oh that is quite alarming, did they ever found out who stole the laptops? we really do not have that kind of incident here, actually in our cases, the office have been receiving bombing threats and the likes.. so we need to install cams

oh yes that is how it is here, whoever is in charge of such belongings they are the ones responsible for the laptop
• India
9 May 12
We could not locate who have done it. Also, even after making a lot of security measures also, atleast 1 laptop would disappear from work stations and drweres. As a latest, about 2 month back also happend the same. As people are working over night and sometime they forget to lock the laptops. Though the admin questioned the security peopole and they were informed that they couldn't found any foul play among the staff. However, the IT team amended the laws and if such theft happens the people who are in custody of the laptop have to pay half the rate to the company, so that people who uses the property of the compnay may pay attention to the belongings.

Oh yes, we have lots of CCTV cameras around the mall , where our office is. And in my boss' former office is a big flat screen TV, where she can see all the employees while they work. And it's the Marketing Department that is always noisy. We eavesdrop sometimes on what they are spontaneously saying.

my former employer uses cctv cameras in their office and to all their branches. The big boss could immediately identify the people/person who made mistakes. and i remember one time, i felt sleepy i immediately went out to the office to exercise my eyes, so i can't sleep. the boss might caught me

Haha-I loved your video joke! Anyway, I haven't worked in an office, only a mall at a counter... I'm pretty sure there were cameras, but I didn't see them, I bet I would behave really fake and scared and nervous in the first days, I hate being stared at. It would be creepy to know that every single movement I make is seen by someone and is constantly recorded and monitored. But if it helps security (like strangers not go in), it is okay.

hi jazel__juan we have that in our dining room here at Gold crest so that if anyof us get ill suddenly help will come. I was shocked when I got to the table one morning months back and though since I had drank some sugar in water myblood sugar should risen but in stead I got groggy and passed out for a few moments so the medical coordinator came in with orange juice and glucagon too , I drank the orange juice came up to 50 so she shot the glucagon into my arm. plus one of my friends got me a reg orange crush. so In my room I felt odd so checked my glucose and they had over treated me,I was now224,thats high so drink a lot of water and got it down to 90.over the intercom I was asked what it was then and was glad it was down to 90. the videos help them in case anyone does get ill.

Have it outside our house and kids love watching people walking or passing by. Oh well, most of all- they love watching lovey dovey at night -hahaha(just kidding) The last time we caught a thief trying to steal one of the bikers bike parked in front our house. The thief never thought we have CCTV cam around and wants to deny his action- but when we ask him if he wants to watch himself -we can play the video for him (lols) It's good to have one- for safety reasons. Sure my dear, you will become a star soon and opps....no more chitchat (hehehe)

We are under video surveillance where I work. After a while, you kind of forget that the cameras are even there. We have them for security reasons, which is fine, but now the bosses are contemplating putting cameras on the individual employee's work stations. This is going to lead to problems I think. The union will fight it and so will the workers. Sometimes those in charge get power mad and decide they want to control and monitor everything but when you start looking over people's shoulders to spy on their every move, it's pretty much making a hostile work environment. I pointed this out to my immediate supervisor and they have backed off for the moment. I think video cameras are okay if they are there for the right reasons, but people need a certain level of privacy to feel comfortable in their workplace.

May I ask, what kind of work is this? Work environments where camera surveillance is typically installed are banks, shopping malls, and convenience stores to name a few. People who work in these places may have to live with cameras since places like banks, convenience stores have been known to have incidence of robberies. I haven't had any experience working where a surveillance camera is installed. It would have to be the nature of the place I worked or the kinds of responsibilities I am involved. This means, you cannot or should not act stupid things or commit illegal/inappropriate conduct.

Hmm. First, my office does'nt have CCTV installed there. However, it's sad that this approach has to be used at your office in order to catch a culprit. Anyway, I would prefer that you are caught on CCTV doing the correct activities -even the most mondane tasks described by you- but ensure that your image is captured in 'a good light' at all times. Really, as your reputation depends on it. In the meantime, continue to enjoy the experience, ok? (Smile)
