Vampires By Night

i know a family who are modern day vampires. they don't drink real blood, but they do do there day in reverse. this means that when it's your daytime, it's their night time and vice versa. the only time they are up in the daytime is when they absolutely have to take care of something in the day. this isn't quite often at all, since there whole life is set up on purpose so they can do it at night. they do the same things people do in the daytime, they just do it at night. do you think this is strange. they don't hurt anybody. they aren't into weird sacrifices or anything, they just love the vampire lore. there kids go to online school at night, they work at night, they clean house, do their landry, yard work...etc by sun down. i think that's cool if you can have it like that.

Their body clock is a bit mess up lol.. how do they dry their laundry? they don't need the sun for that? but they need the sun right for vitamin D? it is still essential.. that is quite weird.

I live my life similarly to these people but I do not consider myself to be vampiric. I am just nocturnal. I prefer night over day so I don't have to deal with a large majority of the "idiots" that populate the common areas of the planet during the daylight hours. When it is dark outside it is time for me to be alive. I love the darkness because I have photo-sensitivity.

That's really so weird! Are they really into this way of living because of Vampire lore or do they work nights and this is just their schedule?? I work nights and so even on my nights off, I'm nocturnal. But I do get up in the AM also pretty early. Yikes...I don't sleep enough! Very strange family you know but I bet they are never boring.

I think it's a bit odd that a family chooses to function this way, but I don't think it's crazy at all. I actually prefer driving at night because there are way fewer cars on the roads at that time. I also like grocery shopping (24-hour stores, of course!) in the evenings because there are fewer customers, and I can get around a lot quicker and more easily. I do understand why this family has patterned their lives this way. Another thing that came to mind was that they sure would fit in during the "winter" months in Alaska where it's dark out that entire time! My only question is, how does this family get together with other families and friends? What if they have people visiting? I wonder how long it took them to adapt to this lifestyle...

When I was younger and home schooled my schedule was like that too. My grandmother found that I performed better at night, than during the day. I've always been a night owl and even now will migrate towards a 'flipped schedule' if I'm not careful. I think that if they feel better living on that schedule, and they can make it work that it's awesome. I would love to be able to live on a schedule like that again not because of vampire lore, but just because I love the night. I do find it cool that they decided to do this based a vampire lore though. :)

i bet this family will have a health problem sooner or later. they are totally disrupting the normal time for their body to follow. our bodies are set to follow environmental changes, and what they're doing is drastically altering their body clock. but if they really like what they are doing, especially if they are in unison of agreeing into the idea, let them be,. they'll just come to their senses later in their lives.

It's interesting and a little weird. I don't know if it's such a good idea because during night time out blood pressure is lower and most of the body's functions are lowered so it may create a health problem. But if their bodies found a way to cope with that it's very good. Being different is not always bad but I think they are making some unnecessary problems. If their kids are home schooled via the internet they will go up lacking social skills, they won't know how to interact and work out conflicts with others. If they live their whole life at night it won't be an issue but maybe they won't. I also don't think it's ok for parents to enforce and not live them any choice about that sort of life style.
