There are things I dont like in CA, but other than a couple things we absolutly love it here. I am very happy to be able to stay home with my children and homeschool. This allows for so many oppertunities. We go to the zoo a lot. Disneyland is a monthy trip. There are some wonderful parks. We now live 8 hours from family instead of a 2 day drive. I hate the thought we will have to move in a couple years, but for now we are loving what we are able to do.

Why will you have to move in a couple of years? Things could drastically change within that sort of time anyways, you just never know. Anyways I'm glad you are enjoying the Calif area while you can, yes please do embrace all the lovely things to do there, it is a once in a life time thing. I wish there were those things around here, I'm always bored out of my mind, 24/7 it seems. Well, the TV and computer is always here but there is so much more to life than that. Where will you be moving to after CA?

I know we will move due to my husbands job. We are military. As to where I dont know yet. Its always up in the air. We grew up in CA, but in the valley where there isnt to much to do and its hot, hot, hot during the summer. We are loving where we are though and will hate to leave it behind.

tink91879 You mentioned you grew up in the valley - do you mean The Valley (as in SFV??)?

Well, the best thing, in my opinion is to stay at the place where you are in practice. From what I understand, although there are some things you just dont like in CA, there are also greater positive aspects. And I'm happy for you, think about feeling good at the moment, no (excuse the term), "smash our heads", thinking about what will! Ok, I agree, at least we have possibly the future plan, but without thinking about it too. Enjoy your life!

I am truly enjoying what I can. I try to not let the traffic bother me. mainly just dont drive at those times. Why drive when a nice walk is in order or a trip to the pool. I dont want to waste time in wondering what tomorrow will bring. I know we will move in a few years, with my husbands job its not possible to not move. So for now Im enjoying it to the fullest.

I am happy to hear that you love living in California. It is amazing that you are able to visit Disneyland once a month. Wow! It is superb you visit the zoo and the parks ever so often. Homeschooling sounds interesting to me. It is excellent you live nearer to family. It is a shame you will have to move in two years. I moved to where I live six years ago because my brother-in-law got a job in this area. It is a coastal town and to begin with I lived in a house with field views. I moved into a bungalow two years ago to give my disabled son a ground floor bedroom plus bathroom. He is in a wheelchair. We live in Somerset now but I used to live in Kent.

Im a huge Disney fan. One thing I told my husband before we moved here was Im getting annuals. I chose the cheapest ones since it has all the days i would go and the days blacked out I wouldnt go anyway. Its wonderful to enjoy so much. Im sure your son enjoys his space. It sounds very nice and like your enjoying it.

CA as in California? If so, I am jealous! What part do you live in? I would love to be able to take my little 10 year old sister to Disney Land. It sounds fantastic! Although I am sure it's pretty expensive, huh? I have always wondered what it would be like to live in the 'desert' or even near the ocean. It's been a dream of mine! Like you said, enjoy what you have in the present instead of worrying too much about the future!

CA is California. Disney can be expensive. Just have to play it right. I got the cheapest annual since all the days it offers works great for us. Than we go I take our own drinks, we eat breakfast before we go, we eat one meal in the park and a snack than usually pick up dinner on the way home. With our tickets and parking already paid for I can take myself and two kids to Disney and spend about $30 for the day. Im sure some day you guys will make a trip. Keep on doing what your doing and than maybe you can live where you wish.

The grass is always greener on the other side is what you reminded me of. I have hard points to, but dont indulge in those. Right now we are very please with where we live, it brings on other struggles, but I try to stay positive. Makes life a little better. Furthering your education is a wonderful thing though and your very fortunate to do so. Its something you will not regret. Keep up the good work!

California is my favorite place to go on a vacation. Every year my husbabd and I and my daughter and husband and the 3 grandkids We go to San Diego. We go to may places. We rent a car and go to disneyland lago land sea world etc... we enjoy the beach. We stay in a condo right on the beach. the grandkids who are 4 and 7 go boggie boarding with there dad. I love it over there. I would like to live there but where i am from i grew up here and had all my 4 children here so its to hard to move to a new place.

There are things I don't like about Idaho too but I love living here. Have been here all my life. I been in California and I don't like all the traffic and so many people. I would enjoy being closer to Disneyland. Have always wanting to take my kids there. We have a lot of lovely parks here, lots of trees and a river running through it. A nice 'green belt' runs along the river.

Sounds beautiful. I do dislike the traffic here, but there is so much to enjoy for us for the amount of time we live here.

Oh my gosh, you must be somewhat close to me! I've been in California all my life (same with hubby) - and actually we are still in the area of where we grew up. I must admit there are things that we don't like about CA - but this is all we know . . . we always wonder what it's like living in other states (let alone cities!). Both our parents are less than 10 minutes away in either direction from us. Our siblings are less than an our away - except one sister in law (but she and her family cause problems for everyone, so everyone is fine that they are far away - ha ha). But we're pretty comfortable here - like I said, this is all we know! I love that we have access to many things around us locally and it's multicultural - perhaps we take it for granted sometimes. Yah, I love it here too.

I'm glad that you enjoy living in California. I'm sure you are able to do a lot of things there and with your children since you home school. I hope that you all are able to enjoy your time there while you are in that area. I hope the next area you move to you will enjoy just as well.

Hello tink91879, It is good to know that you are having a good time there. There are things that we get to enjoy for a while before it ends, so I suggest that enjoy your stay there while you can. Yes, you will be moving again after a couple of years, but while it is not yet happening, enjoy life there and be happy. Not everyone is given a chance to be as happy as you are right now.
