So this is my first post to mylot and I'm feeling a bit over-whelmed by the choice of any subject. Such as life, money, and music for instance. Where does a rookie start on MyLot? What has been the formula for facilitating some of the deepest discussions. I am searching for what provokes peoples thoughts and ideas. But at the same time make some extra money while doing so is surely a plus. I do plan on blogging as soon as I figure that out. So if you have any pointers and or suggestions, I'm open to accept friend requests, messaging, etc. I want to really expose the potential of MyLots deep thinkers and make money.

I just started here as well. Just a couple days now. I suggest before really diving in check out the discussion guidelines (under the myLot tab) and faq. Then as far as getting people to talk I've got to work on me first. I'm finding it hard to think of things. Mostly because I read a lot and my mind relaxes. Everything I ment to say disappears. As far as makeing money here I have decided it's more about the conversation. The system updates on a 24 hour cycle so you won't be able to see your potential income until 24 hours from your first post. Don't forget to verify your e-ail either (I did). OH YEAH! and Welcome to myLot :)

If your not sure of any discussions to start, I would start by just responding to some discussions until I felt comfortable enough. It is a great place just to interact with others and make some new friends. Hope you enjoy the site.

I'm still recently new myself, so I completely understand not really knowing what's gonna be a good topic/discussion starter, but I think you did the right thing. You still made a discussion that started conversations and got people welcoming you and that's what I did for my first discussion as well! Everyone on here is honestly so polite, welcoming, supportive and helpful right from the start. At least, that's how I found it was which helped a lot in wanting to be on the site because then you feel part of everyone as well. It'll take a couple times of being on here but if you like discussing, talking, 'meeting' new people and making a little extra it's a really good site and I think they set it up very well :) I wish I had some tips I could give you about conversation starters, but I have trouble thinking of some myself haha! But I am sending my best wishes that you enjoy the site and you should get the hang of it in no time! For now if you wanted, you could just go through the discussions/comment on some and see what other people are discussing. But, as you know, you're free to a subject of your choice so talk or ask questions about stuff your interested in, or anything at all! Good luck, and we'll hopefully chat again in a future discussion. Welcome to myLot :) - Tasha

Welcome to myLot Oz2991, I have been here on myLot for a little over a month and I must say that I can see myself staying here for a long time as long as myLot still wants me here. Given the time frame that I am here, I can be considered as a newbie too. I posted some discussions as well but not many of them because I am also having a hard time figuring out what other discussions I can post which hasn't been posted yet before. But I am learning and that is the most important. What I usually do is to observe things from my daily lives and from there I was able to get something which I can share here on myLot. I hope you have a great time here like I do.

Welcome to mylot... I only joined yesterday myself, and already have 3 tasks and several discussions... I think its a case of looking through the list and seeing what interests you... Or i just go through the top pick of the day and reply to those that either interest me or that i know about... A word of warning though, it is addictive once you start

Your subject can, of course, be almost anything. What is important is to remember that, to make a discussion, you must actively encourage good quality, descriptive (and, of course, relevant and original) responses to which you will be able to reply in a like manner. If you look at the things listed under 'DO NOT' in the Guidelines, you will notice that nearly all of them are there because those kinds of topics don't encourage discussion and, even if they do get responses, the responses will be inclined to be short and lacking in that difficult-to-define attribute of 'quality' The single most important thing about a discussion is really NOT the topic or the number of people who respond to it, but the fact that people (hopefully, the person starting the discussion as well as others) REPLY to the responses ... otherwise it is simply a question-and-answer session, not a discussion! MyLot encourage this by ONLY paying us for what WE write and not for how 'popular' a topic might be (judged by the number of responses only). The first thing to do, of course, is to read the Guidelines: http://www.mylot.com/o/guidelines.aspx so that you are aware of what is good to do here and what is not. Understanding them is just as important for people who just post responses and comments as it is for people wanting to start discussions because, when a discussion is deleted, any responses go along with it and nobody earns anything. You don't want to waste time answering questions which are going to be deleted, do you? Next, I'd advise looking through discussions to see what sparks your interest and to find something which you can write more than a few words about. There is not really any extra benefit to starting a discussion - in fact it comes with an obligation to reply to the responses you get, if it is to BECOME a discussion! You earn according to the quality of all of your participation here, whether it is starting discussions, responding to others or commenting in your own and other peoples'. If you have chosen one or two Interests already, then you will find discussions posted under those interests on the tab marked 'my interests': http://www.mylot.com/nr/interestsdiscussions.aspx Otherwise, you will find discussions listed according to their 'popularity' under 'today's top' or 'hot' (don't worry, nobody understands exactly how those categories work!). Discussions are listed in 'new' exactly as they are posted, one after another, with the latest at the top, and those discussions which have received responses or comments most recently are listed under 'recent'.

Well everything is about interest. You can start a discussion anywhere just as long as it is up to terms. If you want to start one and you don't know where yo start try just the question and answer section. You will add a lot of interests and more than likely use them or only use a few of them, but just make sure that you add the interests that you like so that you can go back and forth if you get bored. Welcome to mylot and have fun here.

my recommendation is to be yourself and feel relaxed in posting any topics that you like. Don't be afraid to move on since you have already took the first step to join my lot. Let's get connected here and enjoy your stay here.

Welcome to myLot Oz2991! Don't we know that feeling of being newbies here The fear of acceptance, fear of guidelines violations, frustrations when there would be no responses or when our responses or topics got deleted, the thrill of getting the first star, being able to use emoticons, being able to copy/paste, and last but not the least making friends, teaching a little and learning a bit too. You too will have to go through this phase before settling down well as many of us have done. There are faqs and guidelines to see you through.

Hi and welcome to mylot! To start with: There no needs to be ever-whelmed to the amount of subject, just response to those discussions according to your interest or even more! Get to know the system by reading faq as much as possible. I don't if you're into internet paying programs but just that you know that posting affliate links in any discussion isn't allows but you can post link to programs that related to discusions. Task: those are really easy to do but make sure you follow instructions Rating discussion: http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq11.aspx DRS - Discussion Rating System http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq17.aspx However, before you can start rating other people comment, you need at least 100 rate which is number beside your user but don't let this bother you as you continue being acting by posting quality discussion and as well as replying, you'll reach that number rather quickly. Above all have fun and again welcome to mylot!

Congrads and Welcome. The main thing is to find your nitch. Do not try to talk about something that does not interest you for the sake of making a penny. It is way easier to just find your interest/nitch and post away. Then before you know it you will have enought to cash out. Which brings me to my next point is that you need to make sure that you have a PayPal account setup so that you can get paid when you reach the $10 pay out amount. A lot of people think that you have to have a bank account tied in with you PayPal account. This is not true. As you can recieve payments into your PayPal account and then can turn around and use your PayPal balance on like Ebay or something. Not bank account needed unless you actually want physical money in your hand. Also note that you are not alloud to post any links at all "no if ands or buts about it" in a Mylot post. I hope this helps. Bryan21764 p.s. sometimes you earnings do not show up until a day or two after your post.

You did a good start already! You can start with discussions on subjects that many people can give you their opinion. I am not an expert, I just post anything that concerns me and I always appreciate the answers that I get on the subject. So try to answer back to your comments if you can. I hope you will enjoy your time in myLot, it's a quite interesting community! Welcome :)
