Food that makes you happy

Just thought of something that also makes me happy: Food. I guess everyone also does. One common food here that I'm thinking are chocolates. Chocolate bars, chocolate flakes, chocolate truffles, milk chocolates, dark ones. I don't know why I want to eat something sweet right now but it could be due to following factors. I'm sad and I want to be happy; want to break away from stress of demands and quotas of work and life, and paying bills and due dates, and dead lines... LOL, lot of things like that. What "comfort food" do you like and how do you enjoy it? What scenarios do you tend to eat it and why. Let me know what's on your mind and happy mylotting about it in this topic.

Biriyani is the one of the food which makes me to put a simple smile on my face. Along with smile they makes my mouth wattering. We used to prepare biriyani in special occasions. We people used to enjoy the occasions like marriage, birthday party and all other function with biriyani. People used to taste them from every functions and from their home but still people love it. All of the people gets attrated to it because it is too tasty.

Biryanis are cooked in a traditional earthen pot, stuffed with rice, chicken (egg and vegetables if you ain't using chicken) and indian spices. Modern biryanis are cooked in oven, but they cannot beat the traditionally cooked ones in taste. Its one the most popular and tasty dish of Northern India.

Comfort food is usually something simple, like chocolate, chicken soup, etc. that give you a good feeling when you eat it. it does not mean something delicious, or your favorite food. It is very rare of you to think that briyani rice is a comfort food.

Who doesn't love ice cream? Hahaha... What flavors do you love most? For me I love sundays. Never fail to give me a smile. How do you eat your ice cream? By cones or by cups? I like it in Popsicle.

i love chocolate flavor with choco chips, or green tea with marshmallow! ^00^ it smells good and so yummy! i always eat it by cone, hahaha, because i like the crispy of its cone too, beside that because the cone doesn't taste any flavor, it just makes my mouth feel normal again after eating too much sweet because i don't really like sweet, but i love ice cream, so the cone for me, makes the ice cream more delicious in the end :D ice cream have successfully made everyone fall in love to it i think! :D

Hi Mandalee! I also love chocolates! I guess almost everybody does! I'm curious about peppermints, are those candies that taste bittersweet at the same time cool?

I have several comfort foods - I love chocolate, I mostly eat it when I'm depressed, or during that time of the month. I crave it the most that time of the month. Also I think because it was one of my favorite meals growing up, if I don't feel emotionally well I love to cook a dinner of fried chicken, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, green beans, and biscuits. It's back fired on me once or twice, and made me more depressed because I miss my Grandmother who cooked the best fried chicken in the world when she was alive, or other relatives and friends who are no longer alive. But most of the time I view it as a way to feel better, and to honor their memories.

My one and only comfort food is strawberry cheese cake. I can't explained my feelings when I am eating this cake. I felt that I am in heaven or won a big jackpot prize in Lottery. I've enjoyed eating strawberry cheese cake with coffee and with my husband of course.

I haven't taste strawberry cheesecakes but I love strawberries. I love it as a jam and berries alone dipped in condensed milk or whipped cream. I love strawberry jams in bread and paired with milk and honey ^_^-)

Eating? - No, I wasn't eating here, just sitting outside with a cup of orange juice I think.
Like most people I enjoy food, and it gives me pleasure, but while I might feel relaxed after eating it, I can't say I feel happy. Certainly I love chocolate, but only while I'm eating it...after having done so, I feel no sense of happiness. In fact, if I eat during the day I feel the opposite of happy, I feel sleepy, sluggish and a little on the low side. So much so that it can cause me to want to take a nap, something I hate doing, because I find it hard to sleep during the day, what with the disturbances and everything. Unlike many people I'll actually avoid food during the day, even when I'm very hungry, with the result that I'll drink a lot of coffee or tea to keep my appetite at bay, or snack on the go, by eating a variety of foods, such as plain bread; rocket salad; tomatoes; peanut butter straight out of the jar; etc. I gain no happiness out of food, on the other hand, I very much enjoy tea and coffee, and what gives me the greatest joy is having a productive day. There are times I'll feel too tired to carry on, and just give up...and eat something...and I really hate doing that, because it effectively spells the end of my activity. I prefer to drink tea/coffee; and snack until about 9pm, then have something more substantial to eat, before collapsing in front of a movie or something. Food is as much something I have to have as what I enjoy having; although don't get me wrong...when I finally do allow myself food, I really enjoy it, and like to eat well and alot, complete with chocolate and so on. I'll fill right up...making up for all the hours of denying myself.

Wow... love it... you even put a photo of it ^_^-) I'm doing it with a cup of coffee, going outside the parking lot during my break times (around 5:30- 6:00 AM since I am working in a grave yard shift) and for me; this is the best thing to enjoy beverages; and for me; my favorite beverage is COFFEE ^______^-) Coffee for me is second to none stress reliever. Can't live without 3-4 cups of it with cream and cinnamon of it. Likes~!!! Thanks for sharing me your comfort food; er... beverage ^____^-) Happy mylotting about it.

chocolates are actually scientifically proven to be a stress reliever, antidepressant, because of endorphin produced by our pituary gland and the hypothalamus in vertebrates whenever we consume or eat chocolate/s that prevent nerve cells from releasing more pain signal. As for me, I do love chocolates especially Snickers, M&M's peanut, Nips peanut, Tobleron with almonds and Hersheys Kisses Almonds. As you have noticed, I love chocolates with peanuts or almonds, that's my favorite. But aside from chocolates, I also love french fries. That's also one of my most favorite foods that makes me happy

Not to mention; Coffee... They even launch a 3-in-1 coffee with chocolate flavor on it. before releasing it in the market I even stack a chocolate powdered drink aside from the 3-in-1 coffee that I have. if I am so vain in my coffee I even put chocolate chunks or eat it along with sipping coffee. Or buttered breads and croissants. Donuts! wows... You want me to grab some snack right now.

What was your comfort food during exams? Wows, good thing you're still keeping up with reviews while eating. I find eating depriving my memory as I eat since in my theory; it tends to put all of my oxygen from my head to my stomach to digest; thus making me sleepy and unfocussed in memorizing. hahaha... yeah, go ahead LOL with that theory; it's just my point of view why I prefer eating when down time or if I'm going to do it at my work desk (like I'm usually doing due to my hectic work style) I'm doing it at the least park of the work in which it just needs eye and mouth coordination, no rocket science thinking or such.

eatting chicken skin is really good for your skin. You can remove fat attached with it if you don't want to be fat later

Chocolate, coffee and milk tea. These three food items are my "must haves" whenever I feel down or stressed :D When ever I feel like I need some "cheering up" and my friends aren't around, I tend to buy anything that's related to these three items and my mood will immediately perk up.

Food that makes me happy is Food that is delicious. When I'm stress, sad, tired, angry food can comfort me (other than my friends of course). Number one on my list is ice cream (chocolate or cookies and cream) and all kinds of chocolate. I'm a chocolate addict!

Cakes, ice cream and chocolates These 3 are what I really crave for when I wish to eat and feel happy. I enjoy eating these 3 sweets. My day is already complete after eating this. There's even a time when I really would go to the mall just to buy any of these when my cravings are up. Even if I don't have money, I really satisfy my cravings, it's my joy and happiness

Somehow it is right, when i am upset, i prefer to eat good food till i am full and asleep...then i feel better after that. I can eat all food at that time as long as it is delicious...sometime i eat spicy food also, spicy...makes me forget all..and focus on eating only...then sadness is gone...

I eat sweets when I feel sad or when I am suffering from a high level of stress due to workloads. I tend to eat my favorite Taisan cake with a lot of cheeze on top of it. I don't mind about my diet! hehe... To me sweets are stress relievers with a cold glass of orange/pineapple juice after. :)

I've never liked chocolates and all the sweet things. Junks? I am no..no..to them. I eat and enjoy proper '3 meals a day' comprising of meat, fruits, salad, boiled/steamed veggies and stuffs. And I am also fond of Indian chicken Biryanis, Palak Paneer, Mutton ROgan Josh. Believe me you will go ga-ga over the food out here. And the names of the dishes. lol.
