No, it is not actually an invasion. We are peace-loving citizens, right? We are just Filipinizing things here. I see a lot of Filipino contributors in this site and it makes me wonder that it is increasing. I'm so delighted to see how we work and contribute. This makes me proud that we can excel on anything given that we are that well-informed. OFWs, and also I see a lot of our countrymen even with a Filipino blood were already in the mainstream - AI runner up - Jessica Sanchez, BEP Allan Pineda, Pacman, Charice and so much more. I want to know your thoughts - seeing a lot of Filipinos around here, even with increasing numbers. Thanks for sharing

Thanks for sharing that trivia to me. I think Filipinos are starting to know more about Mylot, though some of my folks where here since Mylot's inception. With bigger campaign and marketing - stuffs like that, it will surely be the next big thing in the Philippines and may increase our numbers too eventually. Nice to hear that you looked like a Filipino or a Chinese. Thanks again and more power to you too.

you are right shivanisd, there are many indians in mylot. i just looked up mylot, and find that mylot get traffic the most from india (32,000), then usa (20,600), philipines are fourth (6,200), the third place is occupied by other (probably people using anonymous proxy). china as the world's largest population is on 7th place. well this statistic doesnt mean how many mylot member from what country, but it give you the idea of how many people from what country using mylot and i hope more people from many country come to visit or better yet become member of mylot. cheers

Thanks carnival and mikyung for the support. you know ppl like me who look like chinese are discriminated against in india. Since we are racially different we are treated like foreigners in our own country and are taunted on a daily basis. So its really nice to meet ppl who dont treat me like outsiders and dont care for my race or looks. More power to us!!

Forgive me if I am misunderstanding. I am a peace loving person and happy and proud to be an American. I do not understand what you mean by "filipinizing" as if other people are barbarians? I have not come upon ONE post by an American, Austrailian or English that went against my morals or grain here.

I think that new word was coined by an expert from Merriam-Webster. "Filipinizing" is like something about patriotism as a Filipino (people of the Philippines), patronize your own, support your own. My apologies if this sounds the other way around. Thanks for sharing though. Peace.

When i first read the post, i thought that filipinizing was used this way "dealing in my lot in filipino way". And now mikyung has provided the real definition. This looks not in the way to degrade other nationalities. Let's just support each other just like Obama and Aquino :D

I personally think that's racism when you mention Filipinizing. it would have been better if it's Filipino Presence here is big and that's because of the money benefit getting from making discussion. anyways, that's my point of view. because they're three majority users that use this place people from America, India and the Philippines. there are some from other Asian countries and Africian countries too. I think i'll be proud when the country's poverty, economic and political troubles had been dealt with. for now, those people you mention are just to amuse us and get us out of the problems once in a while. and a lot of OFW's are paying the price the government screw up with.otherwise, filipinos won't leave abroad.

Hee hee - I noticed that too! We have a lot of Filipino friends around here . . . I guess we kind of have a circle of friends at my daughter's school that are Filipinos. My daughter's best friend from kindergarten is actually moving back to the Philippines next month and we are sad about that because they are such a nice family (they say it's just too hard for them to be here, in the US, economically). I am around Filipinos so much that I think I'm getting a Tagalog accent - ha ha!!

Side note since I just thought of it. A friend of ours is collecting books for a friend of hers in the Philippines. Apparently she is in a poorer area and has opened up a library in her garage for the kids there. So a bunch of us are trying to gather up books, clothes, and toys for them. Humanitarians in the Phils (my friend calls it the Phils) as well!

Wow, please visit the country if you have the chance. so you can really appreciate it. I think cost of living here is much lower to some asian countries. Filipinos can be that influential and up-to-date to what is going on - mainstream, pop culture stuff like that - through the internet I supposed. Thanks for replying

accdg to what i've been reading from then, numerous nations really trust Filipinos to work in their business, in other words=IN DEMAND. not to mention, we're the one who really know how to care and love, in other word=CAREGIVERS. LOL :D BTW we're no 1 on the list of top countries in BUSINESS ENGLISH PROFICIENCY. That's also an implication why we, Filipinos, really like to trade our skills in international scene and also to ride on intense globalization. I'm also happy having conversation with Filipinos here. Some of which gave me the best answers to my questions and immediate needs. :)

Personally this is why I enjoy being a member of myLot. Even though I am from the US, and my only language I speak is English, it is interesting to be able to come here each day and interact and talk and hear from people all over the world. Even though we have never met we become friends, and often can relate and talk about what everyone is going thru.

mikyung I have a lot of Filipino friends here and i love them just as much as the others. I like to see them sticking up for each other. Here on mylot with the flick of my fingers I can learn from you and other Filipinos your customs and cultures, and how much we do have in common as fellow humans, and how much we differ in some aspects. Its all good in my opinion and like you a lot of your countrymen and women bring enthusiasm here to mylot . Our mylot is big enough to handle lots and lots of people.

I am not sure as how many filipinos we have here.. but i am just glad there are Filipinos here, when i joined here in 2008 the rate is not that high i guess but lately i have been seeing a lot which makes me glad. As for us achieving things, well anyone can do it actually as long as one desires it and puts passion in it and i know we Filipinos tend to do that, put passion and love into almost everything.

good day mikyung, well i do also noticed that there are a lot of Filipino contributors here. and even before i joined this site, i am already proud of my nationality, being a Filipino. generally, Filipinos are great workers, especially abroad. they are the ones who always assigned to do the nitty griddy and they are the ones who still gives the best results. and when it say generally, there are still some exceptions, since some Filipinos working outside the country sometimes fail to do what is right.

I agree with you airasheila. Those people who done wrong abroad may have been a victim of a circumstance. I think our country is doing it's job for helping those people legally or in any way. More power to you

I didn't really notice that there's been an influx in the number of Filipinos on MyLot, but I still welcome them - it's great that many other people came here to socialize with other people with different stories.

I don't think there is nothing surprising with the fact that many Filipinos, just like us, are beginning to become active here in MyLot, among other existing websites. The population of our "netizens" always manage to become a part of the most active users of some prominent social networking sites like Friendster (when it was still much popular) and some other spots in the World Wide Web. So it won't be surprising for me if there are still a lot of Filipinos here. Somehow, we always keep on running on to each other, at least here in the Internet. It is something that I have become used to already.

Im proud to be filipino! We have allot of talents.. like this new pinoy inventor of recycled plastic turns to a fuel. Its the Philippine government doesn't have care of filipino talents. Sad to say but true right? But life must go on we need to think positive and prove to them that we something as an individual citizen. sorry i just hate government. :) Mabuhay ang Dugong Pinoy! :)

You are right, there are many Fillipino members around, they are filipinizing things rather rapidly in Mylot, but there is ok with me, even with their steep rising number week after week, i believe i can handle their invasion without much problem, no need to feel alarm at all, they are a bunch of peace loving netizen here. Cool!
