I remember as a kid and still as an adult I can listen to the sirens and tell you what's coming, and I always wonder when they pass where they are going. My friends always say I'm nuts but I'm curious. Maybe, because where I live and the lack of calls they get and living down the street from the station. When we were kids we use to run to the back fence to wave. I have yet to know someone who wonders where they are going, the calls they getting and many simple don't care and won't move when they drive by with lights and sirens until they need help and they arnt fast enough.

We've heard way too many to be honest here. It's been months since I've heard them with any kind of frequency, but there were a few months where you'd hear one about every night. We live near a fire department ourselves, and so we are bound to hear them if they come up our way. It's scary and I do often wonder where they are going. When my mom was alive, even though our fire department wouldn't going to her house, I worried about her and whether it was going to her or not.

Did you know that after the operation they are still using their sirens. Someone told me that, I thought it is my friend who works on the hospital. She told me that not all fire trucks, ambulance, police are passing the roads that going to the operation. They have to do the sirens because they are running to go back to their stations in case someone will call them. That's why since then when I saw and heard a siren I was looking inside the ambulance if there is a patient inside.

Actually, I feel bad whenever I see a firetruck, ambulance, or police car passing by. I wonder where they are going and who they will help. When I see these vehicles on the road, I feel alarmed. I can't help but feel sorry and concerned for those who need help.

Just recently, when there was a fire near my work, there are lots of fire trucks coming. And when I took a better look at them, I have noticed that they came from different municipalities. I've seen some that came from far cities as well. A colleague of mine said that they are all being called everytime there is a fire. So everytime we see a fire truck in our community, it may not mean that there was a fire in our area. It could be somewhere else. In the case of the police and ambulance, I believe that it could be mostly within your city.

Yes, that is very true. For example if my department is at a call the neighbour town is on backup so if they need more men or another call comes in. Today our department was called out, plus 2 surrounding townships as well to help.

I understand there are some serious and very sad calls. There are also some less important ones but they still need to respond just in case. I lived in a building that had a faulty computer alarm system they had trouble with. It brought in the guys about once a year randomly. Where I live now there is a woman across the street that has had two stove fires over the last three years not very serious but it still brings the fire truck into the neighbourhood just the same. I think she has finally learned how to cook. I know a car smash too can bring all three of them to a scene just in case something might catch fire, someone needs to be checked out. It can be precautionary too. You never know though that one routine call could mean a life saved.

When I was a kid my family all ran down the road when they hurt there was a car accident. I never knew why. I didn't want to see people all banged up and full of blood.

Curiosity and the unknown most likely. We use to just be curious of where they were going but not track them down.

A new hospital has just become operational in this area where I live,so now I have an idea where the Ambulances are heading back to from now on...I don't concern myself where the vehicles are going at the time, though if you've ever been close enough to feel the ground shake from an explosion,You're hoping they can get there in time to help someone who still needs it,whatever the cause of the emergency...but I do spare a thought when I'm driving for who might be needing these rescuers as I'd pull over to the side of the road to let them pass..

I wonder sometimes...especially when they're in my area...small town you know most people and you naturally care about if someones hurt. I really wondered a couple years ago when they went by my place on the highway...and stopped less than half a mile away...could see the lights so close. It turned out that a logging truck and hit a small car. They started turning people around and detouring everyone 10 miles around the scene of the accident down grid roads off the highway.

yeah,i am mostly concerned when a firetruck passes by my house or while it passes when i am going somewhere,,i go to the rooftop of my building to check whether any smoke is comin from neighbourhood houses,,as i always get concerned whose house might have been caught on fire and what would have been the scale of damages whenever i see a firetruck rushing by,,,,,,,
