Ravi. . . for some poor people, and some disabled people, after much legal battle, there is state subsidized health care and clinics. It is not everyone, and in fact, is not always the best care that they can get. The link you link to is over six years old. We, in the US are still debating what kind of Universal or Socialized health care we will have, but it is not free. For instance,my husband is old enough to be on Medicare. The simplest option still costs him over $100 per month, and if he has surgery it does not pay 100%, it would pay 80% perhaps. In UK, Canada, and some other countries they do have free health care, and I hear from some friends it is great, but from others they feel it does not work well.

hi AmbiePam I suppose there are those who are really superstitious and too sometimes we make our own bad luck. one time I unthinkingly walked under a ladder on a Friday the 13th and the painter accidentally dropped a gallon of blue paint which slashed all over me and some other people.l.the painter had to take us into that store and it could wash off in warm water he had to help us get it off our faces and arms and legs too.our clothing was left to us. moral do not walk under painters ladders

Dear Hatley,

I was not in mylot for long time so there is no chance to reach payout too. Still that day was lucky of me, as it was my special day. According to our belief if the special day falls on ‘Friday’ the year will be lucky for you.

Hope you are doing good and great in health

I was in my native place for one month that is the reason I could not participated in mylot for long time. After my come back I got busy with works. Luckily I have not upset with anyone here. May be some other said like that. It is always great to know that you are able to make money for your bills.

hi sreekala yes I was so afraid you had left. did you not say you wer upset with someone here and were going to quit or probably I h ave the wrong person.anyway I am glad you are back and you will soon reach payoff again.Nice it w as your special day . i missed you and a few others. I was off all of May as my computer shorted out and my son rebuilt it for me. so he helped me both may and June by adding 20 dollars each month to my bank account so I would not have any trouble paying my internet bill.Now August promises to be a different story as I will have almost triple my earnings.

Hi Hatley! Friday the 13th has never been an unlucky day for me and, in February, 2009, it turned into a VERY lucky day for me. I had my second hearing before the Administrative Law Judge regarding my Social Security Disability case and I was FINALLY approved after seven LONG years. And, of course, there's today...

I have a great-grandmother who was Irish so I have a wee bit o' green in me, too.

hi mentalward for me too Friday the 13th has never been lucky. You know I applied for SSI five years ago and it took us becomeing homeles and me having to come to Gold Crest; to actually get approved for SSi although I was disabled before we lost ou r apartment. bu t my son was making 40000 a year so they would not give me ssI but now it pays the biggest part of my monthly rent and board here.My Clark side were Irish and I had always assumed Clark was an English name,. not so.I always have fun omSt Patricks day.

It looks like it is my lucky day too, Mrs. Hatley. A bit off topic here but: don't you do the I-Say surveys? Seems like I've seen you mention that somewhere in the past. Anyway, I've been doing the surveys for a while, don't remember quite how long but, it's over a year. I decided to check on rewards which I'd forgotten all about. I had over 3500 points and lo and behold, I was eligible for a Paypal deposit today of $25!!! Here I've been sitting on those points and doing nothing. I also had enough points left over for two sweepstakes entries. Now I've got to build 'em all up again. And I'm not even wearing any green today.

I'd forgotten too that this weeek would be myLot payday. But I've not made it to payout here for some months. Guess I've been reading too much. My broken wrist kept me from typing for a couple of weeks so that could be used as an excuse I suppose.

hi yoyo yes it is your lu cky day y es I used to do Isay all the time I am almost to 1100 points on mysurvey finally I used to make ten dollars easy every month on Mysurvey then they expanded and its a lot harder to m ake points. thats alway a great accomplishment...But Friday 13th is just another Friday to me...I am not superstituous and just don't believe in the breaking mirror myth, the black cat myth and so on...I believe in God and its going to be what he has in his plan... and for the pot of gold and the leprechauns,,,well????? lol

hi bjc66bjc well I ha ve never been superstitious as so many times surprising little good things happen to me. and my hu bby always said it was his lucky day. lol. I love those Celtic myths and stories about the rainbow and pot of gold, no belief just amusement.I too believe in God and lately he has answered some of my little prayers. I use a walker and put new little rubber feet on it with ball bearings., night before last in the middle of the night I came back from the bathroom and darn one of the little rubber feet came off and rolled under something. I searched with my flashlight but could not find it. I was so upset as it made my walker lopsided like a car with one wheel missing.b t when I got up at six my roommate handed me my little missing rubber foot and I made darned su re it was on securely this time. God answered my prayer.little things but if you have to use a walker and its not working right you have major problems. He is with me a lot Bjc. hugs from hatley

Congrats Ms.Hatley I'm not the lucky one now who will received the payout. But I don't believe that there is any day to be a bad day like Friday the 13th. I'm got busy last month plus some problems too here in mylot that cause me not to receive and be qualified. But there always be next time and for sure I will be a lucky one too.

Hiya Hatley! My mother's great-grandparents arrived from Ireland in 1865. Their last child born in Ireland was born in 1864. Their first child born in the US was born in 1866. She remembered her great-grandfather and always wanted to go to Ireland. She had thought that her grandfather was also born in Ireland, but he was the second child born in the US. She never got to go to Ireland, but I did and I found the church where her great-grandparents were married and the town where they lived. We drove there and saw the sights. Our brand is also Scottish, but they married into several Irish families, so we are both. I also recently found an Irish link on my father's side, so when I get more information, I'm hoping to find their whereabouts on the Emerald Isle as well. It's funny, but I rarely wear green. And, I've always LOVED Friday the 13th! It's my favorite day in the year. Even better when my birthday falls on a Friday (Nov 13).

hi jenintn mrs. i am a widow jen.yes it w as a good day for me and now looking at what i am making heading towards aug the two days I was on the quadruple earnings has really helped me.doing genealogy is so easy on the net it really saves a lot of time too. I met a lot of people also researching m y family tree.I figure I might hit almost thirty dollars by end of july for the Aug payment.

I don't believe in the 13th falling on a Friday to be unlucky. But, I do recall having terrible luck on a few Friday the 13th. Once I hit my head on a beam as I was jumping off a bench (long, different story). I had a nasty gash. Since it was supposed to be an unlucky day, then people attributed it to the day.

hi bounce and ravisivan I ha ve never been superstitious but once I did do a stupid thing on Friday the 13thlI walked under a painters ladder just as the poor man dropped a galoon of the bluest paint anyone had ever seen. It splashed over me and three other people.they got us to come in the store and as it was soluble in water they washed it o ff our hair.our face, and arms and legs. our clothing was up to us of course., moral to my story never on any day walk u nder a painters ladder.

bounce58: just before reading this discussion I read a discussion about a member telling Friday 13th is unlucky day because surgery is quoted high. For me I like tuesdays somehow because I worked in a branch which was having weekly holiday as tuesday and many good things were heard or done on tuesdays. good day.

It's definitely not been lucky for us today. The internet went down and took ages for the provider to sort out (many phone calls when John just wanted to chill out after a hard day at work), also my Mum has had a reduced pay slip because she's been overpaid and was honest enough to say so..fortunately she has a tax rebate to compensate for her loss of earnings. Er, what else? Someone at John's work volunteered to drive a vehicle to Leeds (a fair way away) and it broke down on the motorway half-way there. He rang up the RAC and they said the cover was "expired in June" so I've no idea if the guy ended up in Leeds or not. Mum has had to order a new fridge as her old one has a defective door..but at least Hotpoint have reduced it by 25% as they don't do the model with the defective door anymore. Erm..that's it really. Oh, by the way we got married on the 13th April 2008 and that wasn't our original date. We wanted the day before but the Planet Hollywood couldn't fit us in. It's been downhill ever since..but we're still together which is what's important in life.

hi janey yes its not been very lucky for you but sometimes things happen in threes so maybe you will now get good luck times three. Our hotpoint had a defective door but the store made it good and gave us a different model.,We had that for years but lost it when we were evicted back four years now. my son is working full time now and I am still stick here at Gold crest. My son still is not making enough to afford the rent on a two bedroom apt. rents here are outrageous and it takes two adults with two jobs to afford that apartment aqnd I mean good jobs like professional

It's getting like that over here as well, especially in big cities like London. Many people are at the point where - even working full-time doesn't cover the cost of renting. Also, housing benefit is getting an overhaul as those who don't work generally have their rent paid via housing benefits. It's a crazy system to be honest and there are many cases of people staying on benefits because they wouldn't earn enough in a job to pay the rent! How stupid is that? I feel for your son, I really do. I guess a mortgaged house is an impossibility too? At one time renting here would work out cheaper than having a mortgaged house but I reckon there's not much difference between the two now. In fact, I would think renting costs more, bizarrely.

I am an American but like most of us, my forbears came here from Ireland and Scotland.i am an ardent follower of genealogy and have got back to my third great grandfather on moms side Thomas C Richey but I have not been able to find his parents. its as if the man were born in the cabbage patch.lol in doing genealogy I have also met distantg cousins of mine also searching for the same people. small world after all.

I met an American once who boasted to me that he's ancestors originated from the Mayflower (don't know how true), but he told me that he has a genealogy tree given by he's grandfather. Genealogy is really interesting, I had an ancestor who was a friar but hopped to another Island (my mom's Province), lived another life and inter married with the local population, the secret was hidden for a long time when the Catholic religion had a very strong grip in our country and things like these were always hidden or taboo. Just don't know how accurate the story was especially it was oral from older folks. It's a small world indeed my friend.

My Friday the 13th is not a green day! I came up short on being paid out for this month! Part of the problem was do to all the issues Mylot had last month. So I will have to wait until next month for payout. :( I had not missed a payout in a year in a half! That is when I had to give my computer to my older brother to be de virused (not the first time)! It took my brother longer to get it back to me then normal! :( I hope this never happens again!

hi blue65packer the issues were bad for all but as I had not quite ten dollars on ma y 15th my 8 dollars was added to the une earnings so made 19 dollars which did help. now Au gust with ethe two quadruple earnings days I got in on will make next month Aug a really good pay out. getting viruses on ones computer can ba a real bear to get rid of I know.I hope too it never happens to you again. get a really good free virus protection like AVG its tops.

Congrats on your payment! I am not superstitious so Friday the 13th doesn't really bother me but I also don't go out of my way to do anything terrible to ruin my luck on days like today either. I think my family is superstitious about basic things like not walking under ladders or not breaking mirrors even black cats and such but nothing terrible. I do know one thing I do is hold my breath as a hurst goes by because I have always heard they are bad luck and I just don't take my chance Hahaha!

hi froggieslover well walking u nder a ladder can be bad as I walked under one and jostled the ladder. the painter dropped a gallon of the bluest of blue paint. I was doused along with two others so the store managert took u s in and washed the blue paint out of our hair and arms and legs, they felt it was their fault so we got to get free dresses for us women and free shirt and trousers for the one m an. so it w as not all bad. lol I am not superstitious about the friday the 13th thing but do not go out on a limb to make it bad luck either.

Good for you then!

However, I didn't reached payout last month so the green day here in myLot netted me nothing at all.

But still, the unlucky Friday the 13th didn't turned out to be unlucky after all for me. There are some undesirable situations but there are also some good ones. So I think that the day is quite normal and ordinary.
