In the process of moving...to a new room.

So my brother finally moved out. (I say finally because he's owned his own home for a year, just never moved into it! Haha). And I am very happy to report that I am moving from my room (the smallest bedroom in the house-with the smallest closet-and I share a bathroom with my sister) to his room (the second largest bedroom in the house with a bigger closet then mine and it's own private bathroom). I am really happy about this and am in the process of cleaning his (I mean my) room. I have cleaned the walls and the baseboards, and I have cleaned the bathroom. I have vaccumed the carpet twice, scrubbed it with carpet cleaner, and went over it with a carpet shampooer vaccum thingy! Haha. Now I am waiting for the carpet to dry, then I'm going to steam clean the bathroom floor (it's tiled). Hopefully tonight I can start moving stuff out of my small closet to my new closet. And hopefully tomorrow my family will be around to help me move my furniture! Woot!!! Lots to do this weekend!!! I'm excited!

Well thankfully I've had my own room since I was about...I don't know, 10 or 11? I remember when I did share a room with my little sister, I actually didn't hate it! We had tons of fun! Oh wouldn't it be great to relive our childhood!? ANYWAYS! Haha. I can not wait until the room is all done, and I will share pictures! Thanks!

I can feel your excitement! Hurray to you. That's the same excitement I felt when I finally was able to move to my own unit. It's very possible that your new room is bigger than where I am staying now so I can only imagine how long you'll have to finish cleaning and redecorating it. Cause if you'll ask me, it always takes me a week before I can finish cleaning up and arranging my stuffs. haha... am a bit OC. Keep us posted and share us a photo! *wink*

Oo I didn't even think about sharing a photo of the room when I'm done with it, but that's a good idea! I'll def. do that! I can not wait until i get my own apartment, but that won't be until I'm done with school (at least 1 year). I'm just happy I get to spend my last year in home in a bigger room that I've wanted since we moved in (11 years ago!). OH! And I forgot to mention, this room also has private access to a balcony!!!

Haha yeah! My Friday the 13th wasn't bad...it was busy, but not bad! And my sister took my 2 nieces to see the Katie Perry movie. The girls enjoyed it, not sure what my sister thought! Haha. I never really worry about Friday the 13th, I'm not that superstitious. How was your Friday the 13th? I'm not really worried about my family helping me, I'm pretty sure they will! Haha. I just have to figure out what I want the layout to be...I have a desk, bed, dresser, big bookcase, small bookcase and a night stand to move!

"I have cleaned the walls and the baseboards, and I have cleaned the bathroom. I have vaccumed the carpet twice, scrubbed it with carpet cleaner, and went over it with a carpet shampooer vaccum thingy!" What is it with sisters and thier brothers, nasty boy germs? Good luck with your new space

lol Hope you do well with your test I am terrible with maths so I cant help you out on that one. Would you not study Horror movies instead ?

I would LOVE to study horror movies! I'll even right a critique on every one I watch!!! Wouldn't it be fantastic to create our own classes based on our interests? Haha. Kind of like that college movie called "Accepted." I got an 86.8% on the first math test (would have gotten a 92% if my sister hadn't messed me up on two problems - it's true, even she admitted it was her fault! Haha). But hopefully I at least get another B on this test, would be thrilled with an A though! You would all def. hear about it if I got an A!

LOL! Yes!!!! It is a good week for me! Maybe tomorrow my parents will tell me I can keep my foster dog! (Not gonna happen!) Haha. APPARENTLY we have enough animals now--4 dogs(not including foster), 3 cats, and 4 birds--but as long as everyone is happy and healthy, and the house isn't a mess, I don't think you can have "enough" animals! Haha

A budgie is a bird right? My sister's bird is a mini parrot, and he is messy! We try to keep a towel under him when he's out, but I swear he aims to miss when he poops! Haha. He's even pooped on the dogs! But my sister never cleans up after him! I told her 3 times the dog had poop on her and she never bothered to clean it, so I finally did. We tried to find the bird a home a while ago, but the he fought with a womans other bird so she brought him back. I hope he start looking for another home soon! This bird drives us all crazy! I can not wait until I graduate so i can start working at the Humane Society and saving up money to get my own apartment! Will be a great day, of course I'll have to post when that happens too! Haha.

Wow you live in a zoo! And also as long as you can afford to take care of them is another important factor. But wow we just have a budgie in our house and all this thing does is eats, poops, and makes a mess all over the floor Good for you for getting some nice things though, I'm happy for you. I need a bigger room too but it's not going to happen in this house. Still need to keep saving for my own place

Add a itchen and a couch to that room, and you have my apartment! It sounds great!!! Taling about nice rooms, I'm in the process of planning three separate trips, so I'm up to my ears in hotel websites etc. LOL So glad you're getting an upgrade on the bedroom.

I don't think you could fit anything else in this room after I get all my stuff in there (a big bookcase, a small bookcase, my bed, a desk and a dresser). Three trips!? Lucky! Where are you going Have fun and safe travels! Do you like to stay in hotel rooms? I know some people really enjoy it, and others hate it! Haha

How fun is that? Congrats. That's a lot of hard work but it's worth it. Will you miss your brother at all?

Oh it was great fun trying to move all he furniture across the house! Especially when my sister wasn't helping and I had my 9 year old niece carrying with me! Lol. But my sister did help move the heaviest stuff! No, I probably won't really miss him...we've never been that close. But he's still close by so he still comes over to get stuff (food) lol.

I have a big smile on my face because I can feel how excited you are! That's so great for you and I can imagine how hard it is to share a bathroom, especially with two girls..yikes! You are so going to love this and your own privacy, sort of like your own little hideaway, lol! Hope you get help with the furniture and can't wait to see the pictures!
• United States
15 Jul 12
All the furniture is moved in, now I have to get all my paintings hung up! And I still have to tidy up a bit, then it'll be time for pictures! I already love the privacy! I still have to do some more cleaning in the bathroom before I can move all my stuff in there (there are still boy cooties!! Haha!!) Thank you!

That's wonderful! I am glad you are getting the bigger room! I know how it feels to be in cramped quarters, it's not fun and it's not healthy. You can make the new room all your own. Now this might be weird, but I LOVE a completely empty room lol. I would be laying on that carpet after it's clean and just "enjoying" it.
• United States
15 Jul 12
That doesn't sound weird at all!!! I know exactly what you mean! It feels so open and free! Haha. But now, all my stuff is in here, it's no longer empty! My foster dog is loving the new room! She has a lot more room to throw her toy around and play (yes, she throws her own toy for herself to chase! Haha).

Well it sounds like you might have gotten all those boy germs out now after all that cleaning! Your own bathroom too! How luxurious! I was so happy when we moved into this house that we had our own en-suite so hat we did not have to share with the kids anymore. Makes life a lot easier!
• United States
15 Jul 12
All the boy germs are ALMOST out! Just have to steam clean the bathroom floor (the steamer broke! And we just got it back yesterday....guy was suppose to fix it!). I'm going to be so much happier not sharing a bathroom with my sister (and she'll probably be happier too!) We always fight over bathroom time and space and what not! 2 girls having to share a bathroom is a bad idea! Haha
