Does it mean humans wont be afraid of unhealthy lifestyle anymore because these diseases that is caused by unhealthy lifestyle can be easily cured? if these diseases can be cured like a common cold, would that mean you will eat less healthy food and more junk food? Will a cure for diseases caused by unhealthy lifestyles will make a less disciplined and more lazier generation of humans? For sure the technologies for a fast cure for those diseases are sorta found but they were expensive and also requires a change of lifestyle. I think those diseases exist to make humans more active and more disciplined.

I think humans are largely lazy and undisciplined even knowing that living healthier would likely keep them from developing heart disease and diabetes. So would a cure make things worse? Oh yeah. I don't doubt it. But really, I don't think we'll ever discover a true cure for these diseases outside of preventative measures and treatment options. I hope that what happens instead is the advancement of nutritional medicine and knowledge about healthy living, and that those ideas would reach the general public as the only possible "cure".

Probably. And don't forget there are plenty of current diseases that mutant into a different form that is unresponsive to treatment, and we have to start from square one in finding a cure for it.

I just realized by the time a cure is found, a new disease might start terror in town.

anyway from those new technologies they were developing, nano technology excites me the most. Imagine some mini robots living inside your body that kills harmful cancer cells and viruses. those robots are the size of bacteria. They were currently testing them on rats, and by far they said it extended the life of the rats.

I would be abusing sweets and processed meat by now if they can be cured by a single pill.

I don't know that there is ever going to be a complete cure for the diseases that take the lives of so many people in the world today. Yes, there are some kinds of cancer that are curable and there are ways that we can avoid heart disease and diabetes, but there is nothing that is one hundred percent. I believe that there will be diseases that will take the lives of people as long as there are people that walk on this earth.

Well, we can't really be sure of the reason of such diseases being here hitting people around the world and become some of the major killer which claim millions of lives. Perhaps such diseases do make people live a healthier lifestyle, but wouldn't it be better if such diseases never really existed. then everybody is free to eat anything they want.

All right to answer the other part. I can't speak for everyone but no, for me if I knew there was a cure for cancer it would not make me live any less healthy. Have you heard the obesity problem in the world? Especially in America and England? Obesity is totally out of hand and a huge concern. Why do you think Michelle Obama is up in arms about it? How can you even GET less disciplined and more lazy? Health care is a huge problem, at least it is for America is is a tad behind the times when comparing us to other countries. As for me I feel better when I am healthy I wouldn't change a thing. Many are like me in this respect. I know there is a cure for cavities, I still brush my teeth. I know there are cures for infections, doesn't make me any less diligent in that area. I know there is a way to fix a broken arm. Doesn't make me any less careful not to break my arm. You get my drift here.

apparently more people are not health conscious, as you said there is an obesity epidemic. Disciplined people are minority in this world, we wont be going through a hole in the ozone layer if the majority is disciplined. Cancer have a cure now though its slow, painful and expensive, but we still people who dont care. They still live unhealthy.

Once the cheap and easy cure is found, expect less people to careless. why be afraid of obesity if they can have liposuction, why would they be afraid of diabetes and cancer if an over the counter pill can solve it.But for sure a new disease may mutate somewhere in the future. The cause....I dont know.

No, not all cancer is cured. And yes people still do not care and live unhealthily. The ozone layer was not created by undisciplined people. It was created by disciplined, educated people in big business who supplied cars to everyday ordinary people in order to make money. And chemical, nuclear plants and every other thing that pollutes the air.

Honestly if an easy cure is found for those diseases, i would definitely start eating unhealthy. Life is short yeah, no point eating tasteless foods only if there is a cure

Nope, there really are no CURES for viruses, and the best you can do is build up your bodies' defenses against them... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_cold The closest thing to a cure is zinc, and that's only because it helps prevent the virus from spreading as easily...

No sure, but I do believe that the Virus are difficult things - and medicines most of the times cannot kill them. The Bacteria can be killed.

Hiya Captain No way. Until I am affected, I am not going to do away with my lifestyle or eating habits. That is how many many people live. Even me, I am supposed to be on strict diet due to that Ulcerative Colitis but then there are days when I just dont care anymore and let my tastebuds have a feast. And about discipline.... things were better when I wasnt with the medicines as the medicines make me sleepy, lazy and I rest more do less.

it is of course sad from the perspectives of the people who suffer... for all others, they still have a busy lifestyle which leaves them quite a little time to think about "healthier living"

isnt it sad less people are living healthy and more people are trying to be happy go lucky but in the end they end up regretting it.
