This started today, my ear has this weird ache type pain. Also, pain along my jaw line, but it's stops me in my step, and my just cringe at the pain. I have high pain tolerance, but this is just something. When I open my mouth or chew, it sort of get's worse. I may see hw it is tomorrow, on whether I go to the walk in clinic or even the emergency room as the walk in clinic is only open certain times and accepts a limited amount of people.

Sounds like you may have an ear infection. You can try to put some hydrogen peroxide in your ear. That may help.

From experience, do not put peroxide in both ears at once. You also may get some relief by taking a mucinex type med (guiafensin) and an antihistamine. If you have been swimming a lot it could very well be swimmer's ear, in which case the peroxide or another drying agent would be good.

Ricki, I sometimes have this problem when the weather is stormy. It is like the pressure inside my ear canal and sinuses needs to equalize. I know when it is that, when it is me. On the other hand, if you are not better by tomorrow maybe you should see someone about medical help.

The weather has been all whacky here. I started thinking that as I do get sinus issues, but usually its in my face, but Ill leave it and see, doesnt seem bad right now though.

hi ricki it could be an ear infection or arthritis in your jaw hinge bu t its more likely to be an ear infection , Now if you just had the jaw pain and a heavy feeling in your chest I would say get to the ER and have your heart checked, but the ear is most likely to blame for it. sounds painful too.hope you get some relief with the hydrogen peroxide.

I would say at 23 having a heart attack, but I dont have any other symptoms. I may see how it is tomorrow, and determine whether to go to the walkin / ermegency room.

There's a slight chance it could be a precursor to a heart attack, but at your age, I'd think not. When I was about your age I had a similar occurrence. Back then they didn't have a cure for it. It was called TMJ. Now it appears they call it TMD. It's not dangerous but is extremely painful!!! You might want to read this info & see if any of it is familiar with what you're experiencing... http://www.webmd.com/oral-health/guide/temporomandibular-disorders If I remember correct, there was no cure for TMJ back then so the docs just gave me muscle relaxers & pain relievers. I eventually grew out of it thank goodness. As others suggested, it could be as simple as an ear infection but the TMJ also feels a lot like an ear infection. If you can get into the local walk-in clinic, I'd suggest that before the ER as the charges for the ER will be outrageous & the treatment will be no better than the clinic. I hope they have found a better treatment than just growing out of it!!!

Is this the first time that you've have something like this happen to you, or is it something that has happened to you in the past? I had problems similar to this when I was younger and it turned out that I have TMJ. The doctor's gave me some medications to control the pain and I also ended up having to have surgery to shift the cartiledge in my jaw back into the position that it is supposed to be in. Also, I have noticed that even today it sometimes flares up when I am under a lot of stress.

Before try any remedies, the best is to have a checkup with your doctor, this could be an ear infection or dental problems. If you have difficulty chewing, the problem must be in the lower part of your molar teeth, it's not well aligned.
