I'll be cooking a Welcome Home Meal for my Hubby today

He was out of town for a business trip for 7 days. And, he'll be home a couples hours from now. I'm really excited to have him back home. I hated everytime he has to leave for work, especially when he has to fly to U.S. and it's not easy to communicate everyday. I'll be cooking one of his favorites. It's called "Sinigang" here. It's pork with vegetables and the delicious sour taste of tamarind. I'll be using the powder form, though, instead of the real tamarind, for a faster and easier cooking.

There's nothing like a good home cooked meal after you've been away for awhile, and I bet he will appreciate your efforts. And maybe you could post a recipe for us on MyLot because it sounds delicious.

Unfortunately, recipes are not allowed to be posted on here. It's a violation. I wanted to share my blogsite's link to you so you can check out the recipe there, along with the rest that I enjoy cooking at home, but I can't seem to access the site. I don't know what's up with that, it won't take my login. Anyhow, you can search for the recipe online, there's a lot of it out there. The keyword would be "Pork Sinigang".

I thought you weren't allowed to post recipes unless someone asks for them. However, I did find recipe for it at the link below and will be trying it soon. It sounds delicious. Thanks for a new dinner idea. http://panlasangpinoy.com/2009/07/20/filipino-food-pork-sinigang-na-baboy/

Hi jureathome. I love sinigang especially if it is beef or shrimp! I know what you are going through. It takes a toll on you to wait soooo long for him. (i miss him too, my boyfriend that is) Let's make the best of the time when they are back. :)

Prawns Sinigang is the best for me. I craved a lot for it during my first pregnancy, and apparently, my daughter made it her favorite, too. I don't know if it had anything to do with the pregnancy, but well, she's getting most of the shrimps this time. Mom would just have to give in. Yes, show our loved ones how much we value them while they're around to see and feel it.

hi jure sounds like he has a great meal coming when he arrives home. the US to where you live is a pretty big distance too. 'It must be costly long distance phoning too. I wish you and your hubby a lovely homecoming over a delicious homemade meal.

I'm just really excited. A few minutes more, and he'll be here. I miss his smile and scent. Int'l phone calls would really be very costly. When he was in the US, we chat over YM instead of phoning. But, the thing is we can only do it at certain time of the day, when he has connection and is not too busy at work.
