Am I the only person who doesn't give crap about the Olympics?

It doesn't seem like it's a big deal to me, does anyone else feel the same way.

I am not able to say that I am a person like you that does not care about the Olympics, but I also don't think that you are alone with being a person that doesn't care at all about the Olympics. I tend to think that the reason that so many people do care about the Olympics is because of the fact that it is a time that it feels like the entire world is in harmony, if even for just a few weeks.

I can understand what people feel like on both sides of this. I personally lean more towards caring about it. On one side, people that enjoy the Olympics and care about watching the events probably are either fans of the sport they are watching and thus want to see athletes from around the world compete on the biggest stage, or appreciate the fact that the Olympics occur only once every 4 years and thus want to take it all in. On the other hand, I can see why someone wouldn't be very interested in the Olympics too. First, you could just not be a sports-y type of person. Second, there could be a lot of events that are uninteresting (I share this thought).

Probably you are. :) Olympics is the celebration of sports and human spirit. It happens once in 4 years. So the hype surrounding it is understandable. I for one am really excited about it and looking forward to see the best athletes of the world perform at this platform. Cheers! Ram

I am not the remotest bit interested in the Olympics. Yet I still found myself watching the opening ceremony somehow! As for all the running and jumping etc; no thank you.

The Olympics aren't what they used to be to me as a child. I'm still going to watch a few events, I especially enjoy watching the gymnastics. But these days as well you always seem to hear a lot of the competitors complaining about one thing or another whether it be the rooms are too small or no air con or something else. They are all there to compete for their countries. I think I still enjoy it
