There is a lot happening around us in our interactions with other people and this is a good subject matter for discussion which everybody can relate to...I have seen many such discussions getting good responses , goes to show that people are able to relate better to everyday happenings...Friends what is your opinion regarding this ?

You are right. You have rightly noticed the nature of discussions that attract a good number of responses.Discussions based on your real experiences are responded to by a large number of mylotters. The only condition,I think,is that they must not be too long.We all know that most of our fellow mylotters don't have sufficient time to devote to Mylot. They don't have time to read and understand long discussions. In my opinion, discussions should be neither too long nor too short. They should be based on real life experiences and feelings, clear, easy to understand and interesting.Such discussions are more likely to get highest number of ratings.

Initially when I joined this site I used be amazed at what I thought were such basic discussion topics.I had this idea that we had to look for topics that were unusual and different, but what I dint realise at that time was that people dint probably know and had nothing much to contribute either ..Thanks a lot else for your response and happy mylotting

That happens on all discussion sites .Unless someone is very innovative , there are not too many topics to discuss .This is because some thought provoking topics may not get as many responses as it deserves, so most people stick to what they feel are the 'safe ' topics ...

You have rightly dubbed them 'safe topics.'In fact, they are unable to think of new and virgin topics and presenting them impressively. Thanks a lot.

I think that is because they also experienced the same and can fully relate to whatever discussion was posted about the life of someone else. It also lengthens and make the discussion meaningful when there are exchanges of opinions and advice. No two people share the same opinion since we all came from different walks of life so it's really quite interesting to know what each one of us has to say.

Hi Raine, I agree with your thoughts and views ..It is also true that in spite of following a similar pattern of living, there are still so many differences in our lifestyles ..thanks a lot for sharing your views and enjoy your evening

Yes that's what I too have noticed kala...In fact, now I too look for such topics to respond to since one need not be very brainy or careful in what one says which is the case with other more intellectual topics...Has it started raining there kala, here it is not like before when it used to rain very heavily for days together ..

Yes it is worrying even here although we do have heavy rains, but Bangalore has had very few rains and it will have a negative effect on many things within the state.we can only hope for better rains at least in August and September !

Yes bhanu, a decade earlier one would never have imagined that such a kind of activity would take place and that with unknown people , at least in the beginning and then become a community, where one can discuss and share ideas ...I too feel that discussion sites are really a great way to socialise since you get to meet varied kind of people and know their point of view and their own perspective of life ...Have a nice day bhanu

hi kiran and suni so many newer people are so afraid they will make a discussion that will not get responses when just sharing a problem they have in their own lives could actually help others here who' might have the same problems.so suni do not be afraid to start a discussion based on your own life as people respond well to those.

Yes that's right, I have seen that some discussions that have taken place here have helped members, in fact I know of one such where the person was really depressed. Later after discussing and also listening to other people sharing their own experiences, the person felt better and started looking at life through a different perspective I used to be in constant touch with the person those days through PM and knew what the person was going through !

I dont believe that sunil, that you have not learnt the art of discussion...I too feel that , simpler the subject matter is the better it is understood and more people want to participate in it - all the best

Hi sunil, Did you have to take a new account ? 400 pots when x4 , wow that's great, that's the time I had a load of guests and could hardly use the net , I am still fuming about that missed opportunity

Hi Mrs Hatley You would be surprised to know that I am the same old suny whom you knew as sunny the funny or real suny. I think there was not a single discussion of mine where you did not participate or yours where I did not. This is just that my account is finding me a little bit lazier than ever before and you would be surprised to know that I have posted almost 400 of my posts in the first week of this month when that famous X4 was on. Cheers and wishing you a very happy MyLotting, thanks.

I like such discussions as I can relate what happened to them with my experience. I know that it isn't just me who face the problem but other people might get the same problem. It's good as I get to know that I am not alone. There will always other people who have problems sometimes worst than mine and then there are some solutions for it which I can take as guidance as well.(^^)

That's true Hanum In the four odd years that I have been here I have been a part of many such discussions where the members actually wanted some emotional help and strength that they could get through interactions here and I am sure that members and friends were very helpful ...all the best and happy mylotting
