I do not cook, but the task of thinking what to cooks falls on me every day. My partner just always says 'Just buy whatever you like and I'll cook it!" So on my planner I even have a meal plan. It's hard to think of what to buy and what dish I'd like to be cooked, even if my partner says his task of cooking is harder. Even if I don't cook, I', the one who was to do research about recipes, I do the shopping, and most of all the budgeting! Today we are having simply fried chicken with gravy.

Yes thinking of what to cook and then having to buy ingredients and cook it yourself is really a lot of work to do. When I lived alone I mostly bought cooked meals, and even then I found thinking about what to eat next difficult! I am just not the type to be in the kitchen. Good thing I have a partner now who cooks for us.

i like to watch some coking shows at times and that helps me to try to decide on some dishes to make, some of the dishes are easy. i know for one person to cook each day is different than cooking for a whole family, i bet you end up freezing alot of food and reheating it later on. that should save you money sometimes, too. i often make simple dishes, if i'm cooking for one person. that also eases the load. omelets, sandwhiches, salads, things like that.

I have to decide each and everyday what to cook for my hubby and myself. Sometimes its very easy and other times its so hard. Sometimes we are just tired of the same old thing week after week. However, today I'm making breaded Ravoli with a veggie, salad and italian bread on the side. We love this meal and I'm about to go and prepare it now. I have to admit though the times when my hubby says don't worry about dinner I'm taking you out or how about you take care of yourself and I will take care of myself I love it!! That is the joy of having the kids out of the house and on their own.

Tonight we ate salad with little bread. Tomatoes, onion, peppers, cheese, sunflower oil, salt, cucumbers. I love eating salads and if there is cheese at home I don't even need to cook for myself, one tomato and small piece of cheese with one slice of bread is enough for me, but I usually cook because my boyfriend is not that easy. He would stay hungry eating only this. He always like grill made foods, such like different meat, baked sausages. I know it was not a problem for him to bake something on the grill and make a small salad while I stayed at mom for nearly one month. But his parents live very close to us, so there was no need of cooking, he could always go and eat there.

I always do the cooking here at home because my husband is working and need to bring food to his office because he does not want to buy any food from fast food restaurant. Usually I make a list for our daily dishes ahead to save time and I made sure that I cook only the health and delicious food for us. Today i decided to cook fried fish using olive oil and steam green vegetables for lunch and lean meat with tomato sauce for dinner.

As of now I am in Chennai, staying with friends in a room. We plan the earlier day what to cook on the next day, hence mostly we don't have the problem of deciding for 10 minutes every morning. And any how my responsibility is to do marketing and cooking is done by another room mate. Though we decide about it together on the earlier day in the evening.

I think it all depends on what you will eat. I can pretty much eat the same things each day. Cereal and eggs in the morning, a bean burreto and fruit for lunch and a salad or heavy soup for dinner. All of this is easy for me to make some, the soup or stew ahead for several days. In our stores you can get frozen, premade meals and every once in a while I just get some of those for a change.

If you consider a microwave dinner as preparing, that's quite often what I do. If not that, it could be can soup; or a sandwich, processed meat; or I'll fry a couple of hamburgers; or boil hot dogs. It depends on what's in the house.

This wouldn't work for a single, but what I did last night was a whole pork fillet, seared, a line sliced down the centre and stuffed with dried apricots and brie, then wrapped in puff pastry and oven cooked. I served it with airfryed potato slices, honey glazed carrots, and portobello mushrooms, leek, and peas. Topped it with a sweet mustard sauce. We had the left over for lunch today, in cold slices. I usually know what I am going to do the day before. i always have a list I write down or I keep in my head. With food this weekend I didn't plan ahead like I normally do! So i orderd a pizza and thought it didn't have any red sauce on it. It did and ate it anyway! I have acid reflux disease and the toamaot sauce made me feel bad! I didn't want the pizza to go to waste so I eat all of it over the weekend. The rest of the meals were worse because I had to dig around to find something to eat! I won't do that again!

Ritzz, you can always make a list of your favorite dishes and plan them well for your daily meals. Make sure that you buy and cook not the same dishes everyday, so you won't feel bored eating them. As for me, when i was living alone before, i cook most of the time is chicken with soy sauce and curry powder added carrot into it. I will cooked a lot of it and keep them into refrigerator. Whenever i want to eat, i will take some out and warm them up. And i will cook another different dish, so have another different meal for a day. i like to mix and match my food, so able to taste a different recipes daily. Even nowadays, i am doing that way and my family loves to eat my cooking. Hope you are able to plan well your meals...

Usually, Ramen noodles. Boil some water (that takes 15 or 20 minutes), boil the noodles for 3 minutes, then take the noodles-&-water, mix in the seasoning, let it cool as much as you like (I usually put mine in the fridge for about 15 minutes) & Enjoy!

If I lived alone I would mostly eat fruits, vegetables and eggs, I think. I have a husband and son with me so I plan menus. I think it all out in advance and then I can shop and have things on hand and I just check my list each day and do not worry about what we will eat.

If you fix a large meal and freeze the remaining food in portions then you will have some for another time and save on food too. I don't live alone but when I did I could save alot by doing this. I usually did alot of snacking or small meals so it wasn't difficult for me at all.
