I was talking to a friend about looking for a job again. She said hold off until September many college and high school student will quiet their jobs to go to school. I remember at my old job many of them would do this without any notice just say see yea not finishing their schedule. I am still applying for jobs that work in my schedule though.

In some places, this is a great philosophy to try to follow because a lot of students do go back to school. However, this definitely isn't something that is true everywhere. In the city that I live in, this is something that would not work at all. The reason that it doesn't work is because of the fact that we live in a city that could easily be considered to be a college town. That means that any jobs that are out there during that part of the year are quickly filled with college students that don't require as much wages as other employees would require.

Your friend is right, returning college students leave big voids at many places of employment in the fall. What is even better, most holiday seasonal jobs begin around the same time. If you want to make the best of seasonal work, start in the fall amd work up to Christmas. If you are good, sometimes employers will keep you on through the first of the year to do inventory and maybe Valentine's Day. You may be layed off until Easter time through Father's Day; after that, you can take time off to enjoy a personal holiday in the height of the summer. If you are very, very good, you can repeat the cycle beginning the next fall.

Yes August and September both are the months to go looking for a job. If they dont' quit, the drastically reduce their hours and people are looking for someone to replace them. I got my job last year in July because of kids going back to school. They really start looking now, but it wouldn't surprise me if they didn't hire until later.

Well i would say goodluck on finding a job then. I dont know how many jobs would really be available and if i was you i would be looking everyday and going on store websites and finding the career button and seeing if there application is online to fill out and hope for the best and keep filling out as many applications as possible to get a job. If your not active online and arent getting the money you need from wokring online then try and keeping trying to find a job outside of internet working.
