I came home from working back to where I petsit. The neighbours hose was running all over his driveway and my driveway plus the road. Water isnt cheap here, in my house its about $200 - $800 (usually in the middle average a month) thats just for showers, laundry, and so on. It must of been running for awhile since there was big puddles all over and like a lake basically. To be nice I went over and knocked on their door. I didnt want to go sneaking around their house to shut it off, and scare them. The guy was a real d*ck, and going on rudely how its my hose. So I thought maybe it is, I just left since he was real rude, its his problem and money wasting. I knew there was a hose behind the hose here, I called the people I petsit for and they said thats the one and only. I went out with a flashligt and it was off all nicely wrapped on the hanger. I went out front and the hose goes to the other side of their house (neighbours), and noone else lives on the other side of the neighbours. I thought yo u want to be so rude, I went back inside and its still going they can pay the high costs of water. I went up and told him and he didnt want to listen. A few minutes later the neighbour from the other side of me comes knocking on my door saying about the water, and I showed him it wasnt here, so he went over and knocked on the door, same thing the guy was rude saying it was at my house so he just went home, and ignored him.

No one likes to be told and even if he knows it is his hose he will not clost it just because his ego will not let him. A fool really. It is not just his water. It is a drain that will affect the whole neighbourhood. I have enough water as I have a well but I have trained my workers to be careful about water as every drop saved will help someone else.

If he wants to be rude, let him pay the bill! You know he will be complaining when his bills comes.

Oh yes, the cost will be extremely high. He had it on for at least 4 hours. He was out there at midnight swearing away. But it could of been longer as it was on when I got home.

We are on wells so we don't pay for our water, but because of the numbers in our community we keep a close eye on the water system. Of course when I say we don't pay for our water, it is that we don't pay a water company for our water. We do, in a way, have to pay for our water as we have a monthly assessment to keep the place running and pay for the upkeep, which includes the water system. Because this is a desert area, some of us are VERY careful with how much water we use. There are two of us who live full time in the area and according to the water master we use only 100 gallons of water per week per person. During the summer it goes up to about 200 gallons per person per week. That isn't too bad except for one of the persons who stays up here during the summer insists on watering the lawns every single day, and will water the lawns for an hour and a half per day. It doesn't sound like much usage except for the final numbers from last month. We used 550,000+!!! Since we're on wells, we can't expect the water to always be there. We can't get it through to the knot head that is using all the water to water the lawns. We also are trying to get through to them that there is a low consumption alternative for the weeds that they are currently claiming are "lawn". It falls on deaf ears, and the guy keeps using our valuable water for raising weeds. It's kind of like the idiot that is next door to you! Does the guy have kids? If he does I bet the kids turned on the water and left it running...You'll hear him lose it when he gets the water bill...one word of advice, when you get your water bill, make sure that you don't answer the door and also duck because when the fhit hits the sham the guy is going to be throwing things including fits!

You should have made paper boats and sailed the in the puddles. You and the good neighbor could have played in the puddles, splashing and kicking about and enjoying the bad neighbors liquid money flowing about. You are too nice to be a goose like me, but I think I would have taken full advantage of this goofy guy's ignorance. You are such a good person, Ricki; just a person of wonder.

heres the thing. if kids are not watched its usually them that does this. depending on if your neighbors hose has access from out side his fence or whatever. also if he has kids or maybe hes just very forgetful once at my house, my neighbor wasnt home and a couple of kids came by and turned on her water hose on side of her house. i yelled at them and they turned it off and ran.

What is his intention of doing so?? I mean why he just let his hose on?? He should at least tell you the reason why he did so not rudely say things that it's his house or whatsoever. You are trying to help him but it seems that he is too much over his own house and hose.

The neighbor with the running hose sounds like a real winner. Wasting water, wasting money and being rude to concerned people. I wonder what he thinks he is watering.

Well then! It's his problem though. I suppose when he gets the bill he'll be sorry he didn't check it out....
