Obama is now trying to disenfranchise military voters

This shouldn't come as a surprise since the left is notorious for trying to block military votes from counting. Usually it's done at the state level, but Obama is desperate enough to really go after it himself, ensuring that the people who killed Osama bin Laden, allowing him to take credit for their actions, do not get the right to vote on whether he gets to remain in office.
This is nothing new though. I remember in the 2000 election democrats tried the same thing. They tried to block military votes claiming that it had to be postmarked by the election date, conveniently ignoring the fact that military mail often does not get postmarked.

Taskr, the article that you posted doesn't say that democrats are trying to block Military voters, what it says is that EVERYONE should be able to vote up until the election starts. The Ohio law gives military members three additional days to vote. Studies showed that early voting on those three days before the election were mostly done by democrats that voted for Obama. Ohio republicans have the same facts, and they are trying to use this information to win the state for Romney. I worked on the Obama campaign in 2008 and when I went door to door many people asked about voting on the Saturday and Sunday before the election. Many of these people had jobs, and some had two or three that meant they couldn't make to the polls on Tuesday. Should we disenfranchise these Americans because one party want to win an election?
Why shouldn't EVERY Ohioan be able to vote up until the election?
By the way, I wonder if you have to send a photo copy of your ID when you submit your early ballot?
The real party trying to block voters is the republican party who want to force voters to show ID (which ISN'T in the constitution) in order to vote. The republican party has facts showing that this will hurt turn out in minority areas where Obama did very well in 2008. Why are republicans pulling an end around the constitution? Do you think they could get the votes to change the constitution?

"what it says is that EVERYONE should be able to vote up until the election starts"
You know what? You're right. I actually read it wrong. I thought it was trying to scale back military voting instead of moving up the regular early voting. Too bad I can't delete the thread now.
"The real party trying to block voters is the republican party who want to force voters to show ID (which ISN'T in the constitution) in order to vote."
They're trying to block ILLEGAL voting. Without voter ID laws, I could literally walk right into the local voting booth, tell them my neighbor's name, and vote in his place. What's to stop me? We already know that New York Democrats did this to vote themselves back into office. Had the people they disenfranchised not complained, they would have gotten away with it.
You are correct that there is nothing in the constitution discussing voter ID. There is nothing PROHIBITING it either which leaves it to the states to make that decision as per the 10th amendment, which I know you big government types hate.
Personally, I don't like the whole mail in voting thing one bit. It is WAY too easy to commit voter fraud that way. I think it should be restricted to the people that need it, like the military, or people with limited mobility who can't get to a voting location.

Well if you read the title, and listen to career politician Mike DeWine that is the exact impression you would get. But, when you actually read what they are doing you see that they are just asking for the same rights for ALL Ohioans. But, it's OK, I have done this to often as well.
I agree that anyone can vote and say they are someone else. The problem is that this is how it has been for the entire history of the country and it has worked so far. Limiting voters by either party is ONLY for self preservation.
I would like to hear someone of these states that are passing these voter fraud laws to explain how this will effect absentee voting? We both know that the vast majority of these voters are republicans, and we all know that these red states wouldn't do ANYTHING to change their voting patterns.

Luckily for this country (even the far right). Romney is just not good at politics. With the exception of manipulating the truth. He is pretty good at that. People need to go back and look at the old archives of when he ran against Ted Kennedy and when he ran for Governor. He pretty much did the exact same thing with his taxes as he is doing now. Except they were able to expose some of his hypocritical view points on the subject. The question now is how long will it take this time before the truth comes out?
Romney clearly cannot think on his feet. He is Palin-esque or Bachmann-esque when it comes to thinking on his feet. Maybe not quite as bad, but it is definitely a problem for the Republican party. If you cannot even talk about the Olympics in the friendly confines of of the UK, without screwing it up, you have a problem. Especially when everyone says Romney is the so called "expert" on that matter. The guy just does not that look Presidential .
When the debates start, if I were Obama, I would do everything in my power to keep Romney off his script. I am not saying change the subject or lie about the subject. Just make sure Romney can't stick to his talking points. If Obama can do that then I do not think the debates will be close. Romney gets flustered when Fox News does not stick to the script. That's why he barely talks to the press.
So hopefully the new block the vote laws will not have a impact on this election because even in this rigged system their is just some things you can't hide. No matter how much money they spend or how people try to keep Romney hidden. That is not to say its not a problem overall. It could potentially screw most every other election up, in those states that passed the block the vote laws. In the end, maybe that's all the Republicans were really going for, because they already admitted it had nothing to do with voter fraud.
I wonder how many people teach there kids this kind of behavior. If you can't win, rig the system. No wonder everything is so screwed up. I am surprised more Penn State types of climates have not come to light. Maybe not as horrific, but just people of powerful organizations doing bad deeds to make sure that money keeps rolling in. Well we do know of a few(and apparently its perfectly legal), but what about the ones you would not expect this type of behavior from?

Um, ... I will do a bit more research on this when I get time behind my computer, and not on my phone (which is how I normally mylot).. But in the mean time I have a question for you- Have you researched this at all? Has any other news source said anything about this, because well, you are citing Fox News. And Fox, is well, a bit unreliable as of late. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fox_News_Channel_controversies) and if you don't trust Wiki then just look at their sources.
Now if it is true, SUCK because I really don't want Mittens in office! AND all of my Military family and friends will be very, very, very disappointed, and probably irritated at this for most of them support Obama. I don't think that he would be that stupid to pull all of the credit, and if he is then I fear for our country.
