Disgusted With The JBC Shortlist Delay

Philippines

learned last night on TV that the JBC are AGAIN postponing their nominations for the shortlist that would contain the names of their meticulously chosen candidates for the next Chief Justice, which should then be sent to the President. The shortlist was supposed to be made a few weeks back, but what I always hear is that they're needing another time to do so. Again? until when? A thing such as this is not supposed to be done in a haste, I'm cognizant of that but I think that what they've done has consumed so much time now. What they're doing is yet another negative attitude such as "Procrastination". What d'ya think?

I guess they have a very good reason to delay the shortlist of nominations for the next Chief Justice. I'm hoping that that reason is because they don't want to have another Chief Justice that might just get booted out again. Let's just all hope that the next Chief Justice has a strong moral background.

He/She should have not only the moral background but is also neutral to any political party especially that of the Liberal party. He/She should also has the support of the ordinary Filipinos, otherwise the it will create a negative impression to every one of us.

i would rather wait for few days than suffer under a chief justice who has evaded scrutiny because of haste. the last chief justice should serve as a lesson. he was appointed at the last days of the outgoing president. he could not explain his wealth and its sources. for me, i would not mind having some extensions as long as there is a target date for submitting the shortlist to the president. i wish we would have a chief justice that we deserve.

That would be a good way to look at things in our government, looking it at a positive way. When Pinoy becomes the President, I do have high hopes too. That he can make a difference. Maybe he had done many already, but our countrymen still ask for more. May his moved to oust CJ Corona will make a change on the policies that he wanted to implement in our country. No matter who will be the next CJ, I just hope that his/her appointment will not attract political turmoil in our country.

Well I would have wanted to have it finalized as well but I think there are some reasons behind the delay that I am not aware of. I think they are making sure that every issues they have in the group is finally resolved before submitting the shortlist to the president for evaluation and finally picking the CJ. With the recent flooding that happened many for sure weren't able to come and discuss things about the candidates. let us hope that with these delays the group can really present a good candidates so the president can have a good choice of judges around.

When things like this happens to the way our officials are supposed to be doing, people might think that there is something "fishy" about it. We can only speculate the things that we already knew and hoping that its not. I'm sure the government had many alibis for doing so, one of which is the recent calamity that struck our nation. I taught that this government can make a change, but the change I'm expecting is the reverse of it. Election is fast approaching and we the citizens will make another decision. Will we still vote the people who will promise anything to get that set on the government?
