Ok Christians I like to know what you think. I keep seeing this t.v. ad about this new dating service for Christians called Christian Mingle. I think it is great . Two people that already know they share the same faith getting together to date and hopefully marry. But I wondered how Christians thought about it. Your thoughts.

eharmony.com used to be just Christians until they branched out. As for Christian mingle, no thanks. I know a few people have tried that, and it turns out there are some non Christian people who think they'll have an easier time of it with this site. One lady said she met a guy who said he was a Christian, but when they met he was an agnostic. I'm thinking, huh? Of course you're probably going to get that with any site. I think it's a wonderful idea. I would think I'd meet someone at church for the same reason you mentioned other Christians meeting on the same site would be good. My parents met at church (he went to hear her dad speak at a revival). My grandparents met at a church. My sister and her husband met at church. You know what's funny about my sister and BIL. They played husband and wife in a church play and that's how they started dating.

They were trying it out , huh? Lol! Some things were better back in the day and being able to meet your mate a church is one of them. I assume it is easier when there were church socials. But now? Are there enough young , single Christians for a social? I didn't know eharmony was Christian only once! Wow!I was hoping Christian Mingle was an electronic form of the socials of old.

A church social. That sounds so quaint, but so cool. I should ask my grandmother if she ever went to one. If you go to a big enough church, there will be enough young, single Christians. My church (I say mine although I don't know how many people would recognize me) has about fifteen single Christians including me, but I know about ten of them are actually dating someone, so technically although they aren't married, they aren't "up for grabs". Single means so many different things nowadays. I would hope people wouldn't consider a dating couple free for the picking just because they aren't married.

I agree , if you are dating someone , you are taken. Something tells me you are not alone. There are many Christian single people who can't find their mate at church.

sarhruthbeth: I am not a christian. I am from India where dating as it is not prevalent. Of course dating is common in western nations where christianity is spread more. TV programs or internet websites are tools helping people to get married.as long as proper verification is done and then marriage takes place it will be good.

I'm not a Christian either. I can see how a service for Christians can be helpful.

Hi... How're you, behen? I've seen many e mails titled 'christian Dating' or things like that.. It is not just for Christians, I believe... The marketing guys of the dating services do such tricks to gain more subscribers... They'll create a different sections for Christians, not more than that.. Dating should not based on religions.. I think, it should be stopped.. It is all about two human beings wanting to be together... Religion has no place in it...

Hi Sarah... My Behen... Sorry for delayed reply... I communicated with those guys before a couple of days... They're going to call me again.. I guess, there'll be a telephonice round over the phone with Dubai.. The lady said something like that.. Hope it'll work... You're right.. I agree with you.. Any two humans can be happy together, if the love is true... :-)

Hi Bhai! I'm fine. I was just thinking about you . How are you? Did you hear back about your new job? I think two people can be together even though they have two different faiths. The key ? Good Communication. If you have that , anything is possible.

I think if anyone wants to do it and they hook up with someone that is that has the same beliefs then go for it! YOu have to have something in common to build a good relationship anyway!

And from the responses I get from my religious posts I know it is very important for many to share the same path.

Why not? If something is important to you in a partner, like shared belief, then cut the chaff and get a headstart.

Well, I am no fan of any dating site. And I think this christian dating thing is just taking these dating site way too far. You never know, some christian somewhere might hook up with a crazy christian and get murdered. Like on CraigsList. LOL. So this is just a religious version of any other site online. There is no difference. I doubt everyone on that site is actually christian. I don't need those dating sites, but if I was on the market, this is one I would stay far away from. I am sure there are more crazy people there then on other dating sites, mainly because of the religious overtones.

It is the religious overtones that I'm happy about. If a person needs to date a Christian , they can go to Christian Mingle.

You would be surprise how many people will not marry a person of another religion. Or even date.My guy and I are of different religions and it does not matter. Question. Is T Catholic?Am I prying?

Personally I don't give a rats @ss what their religious beliefs are. If I wanted to date someone, as long as we get along, thats all that counts. But I don't have to worry about that. I doubt everyone that goes out and dates people care about what religion they follow. Its all about the money.

Hi, If the site is what it claims to be, then, its fine. However, there are lots of online personalities that don't seem to be what they should be, it is so easy to claim one is such and such while it may literally blow you away when met in person. I take online dating as a total waste of time, if I want one, I'd rather go down to the next door neighbor whom I have known since childhood. In that case, I would know someone better as is, where is.

You are lucky , you love is right next door. But for many , there is no one next door. And all the people in their church are either taken or too old! This is why I thought it was a good idea for this service.
