Another loss

One of my colleagues whom I consider an asset to the organization will be leaving very soon. He applied for work in Singapore and he got the job. He will be with us until the 7th of September. It's sad that one of the good teachers in our department have to leave. It's sadder that one of my good friends in the workplace have to leave. But I know this is for his own good and for his family.

This loss happens in each and every organization. Actually it due to the needs of the people. People have so many commitment which is not satisfied by the current employer. So for a better package, people move on to a new employer with better package! As you said, your colleagues life will be good after the change in profession!

Sorry the response didn't load properly. What I wanted to say is nobody want to refuse good offers and working abroad is a valuable working experience. It might be a loss to his present employer but that is a normal thing hsppening everywhere.

I know the feeling dolce. It's really sad when somebody whom we used to be with will leave us but everything happens for a reason. Probably God has someone to replace her in your department much better than her and you would get along well too. On the other hand, your friend had made a choice already. I know you would be happy for her and her family if she will become successful there. So I guess you just need to be happy for her. Stay strong! God bless!

Indeed a huge LOSS, not just to your organization but also to the whole nation too. another working force involve teaching has left the country and look for a better job. this is a reality why the education isn't that good now a days, the best of the best are either retired or left the country I wish them the best of luck

I can feel you. I had the same experience when I was working at a language centre. One of my closest colleague decided to quit to find a greener pasteur. He was like a father to me and I call him Dad until now. We used to study the bible every lunch time and I would get words of wisdoms from him. He was fun to be with as he has a good sense of humor. We felt sad when he left for we knew we'll never be able to study bible with him anymore. It's a good thing that I still keep in touch with him until now.

Hi friend, sad to hear about this, hope he will earn more in his new job, it is really hard to miss our good friends, but we have the ability to contact them using cell phones and internet, so don't worry and keep in touch with him through modern devices.

Dear dolce_vita thats how life is..... the nice colleagues get challenges, better jobs and follow what is best for them and we are oftentimes stuck with these whom we dont really get along with. Same here. Got to go back to work tomorrow after two weeks off and I dont really look forward to this, LOL, so 10 weeks work now till I have two weeks off again.

It is really sad and we cant really avoid that our colleague will leave when they have good oppurtunity knocks on them, colleague that eventually turn out to be good friend. It may be sad but if we think that is for their good and their family. Let just pray for their safety and treasured the memories that we have shared and earned.

People come and go. And as much as we want them to be part of our lives forever, we can only embrace and be thankful for the experience of being their friend. Anyway, as an old saying goes, we are all under the same sky, we can never be too far apart. I can relate about losing colleagues that are so easy to work with. I just hope that whoever will take his post will eventually become an asset as well.
