"Goodah! Is it a sign of insanity?"

After attending our commencement exercise in College, my batch mates and I were parted ways to face the world. It doesn't end there, we need to prepare for our licensure board examination. The preparation was so tough, dealing with books. I felt losing my mind, feeling so overloaded. We enrolled in a review center. I had this pretty batch mate, who is diligent, seems so normal to live into the fullest. In fact, she looks like the famous telenovela actress from Mexico, known as "Marimar". She's so graceful in every way. There are exceptions, of course. One month prior to the scheduled examination, we've noticed that this pretty batch mate seems so strange. We were having final review session, when she suddenly stood up, go straight to the board in front and wrote "Goodah!" Then, she grabbed the microphone and says, "Goodah!" Raise your hand if you're present?" The students were shocked, some of them laugh out loud. Then, she walked out from function hall without turning back. At that point, my batch mates and I felt so embarrassed. Since most of the students enrolled in that review center were from other schools. The next day, no presence from her. The next few weeks, still no signs of her. However, one of my mate relayed the information, she was brought by her loved ones in a mental asylum. How did this happen so abrupt? We remorse about her condition, why did she end up into that kind of mental state. The rest of the story was a history. I don't know if she surpassed and recovered from it. I just thought of something, "why do some people snap out of their sanity?" "What triggers them?"

@Shavkat I don't believe there is one answer for your question as sanity and insanity varies from person to person. Everyone has their reason for who they are and how they are. I just hope she is doing well now or at least getting some excellent support.

I had the last update of her last year. She is really diagnosed to have a bipolar personality. She has well-supported by her immediate family. I felt bad she didn't live normal like me who had explored the world. She is always staying in her room.

I am a therapist but your question is impossible to answer, and even if there was an explanation you would have to know all about this girl, her history and the way she lives and so on.

Hello my friend Shavkat Ji, Well, if one gets in-security/in-stability/un-balanced combined with failures may lead to such situation, which may be beyond one's control, and He/She may plunge into such condition, which may warrant him/her to act without understanding out-come of them. I will call sickness, Medicals may term as per their vocabulary, and common men may call him/her insane. But no doubt they require our homely/family like support to recover. May God bless You and have a great time

You know, I really don't think that there is ever another person that really knows what is going on in someone else's head. It could have been that this classmate of yours was just feeling a lot of stress because of getting ready to take the exam. However, it could also be that there was a lot of things that were going on in her life that you and your other friends were not aware of and that could have been what caused her to snap. You may just never know and I don't think that anyone can really speculate what was going on with her.

So many strange things happen to stressed, worried and overworked reviewees. And it becomes worse when they don't sleep. There are so many horror stories, and right up to the day of the examination, there will be those kinds of stories. I hope you're having a better time than her. Always remember not to overstretch your limits. Always have your full sleep (8 hours usually for most people) because the mind absorbs more when it's rested. I don't know if you haven't taken your exams yet, but, hope you make it!

It sounds to me like she had a dream that featured someone named 'Goodah' and wasn't sure that it was just a dream. Plus a little bit of dementia there, from not having enough friends.

It seems you couldn't know your batch-mate so well as you think. When such a conduct is there for a usual-looking person, there had been something hidden in her mind which she had been hiding from the world. Since, our faculties can bear a limited burden only, these get exploded when the limit is crossed. To understand why she behaved in that unusual way, you need to know her better particularly her history.. of the self and the family.
