What Is the Deal with the Image Blocking/Allowing/Loading?

On the Content tab of the Options island from the top-menu's Tools drop-down, I usually keep the 'automatically load images'-selection unchecked. Lately I've also added 'block www.mylot.com' to the 'Exceptions'-list. I did that coz I thought it would BLOCK the images on myLot if I ever left the 'automatically load images' checked. But guess what? uhhUngh-uh! (sp?) No, the images came through just as strong as if I had added 'ALLOW www.mylot.com' to the 'Exceptions.' So what gives? Do the 'exceptions' mean anything (in ToolsOptionsContent)?
