It started last summer and we thought he was after rich people. Well, last month he burned 17 random cars in a parking lot by the sea, in the place where I was for the Vespa meeting. He has burned more than 30 cars in a year! No on has seen him!

I live in a very safe place, no big problems. Small crimes happen anywhere. But this is a crazy situation. Unfortunately Greek Policemen stay indooors until someone calls. No patrols around. And they want a raise! hahaha

Yes hatley I agree,,,,but Kostas, I don't live under a rock...I DO know that crimes are universal,,But most places have some types of protection, (not always great) like a police departmemt....

What did the police say about him? That guy must have some issues, I haven't heard about this in the news. I am wondering why no one has actually seen him, or why there are no cameras with him on action! This would be very helpful for the police to recognise him.

It happens at nights and no cameras on the mountain. The only chance for a camera would be if he went near a hotel with a security camera. Then they might see him.

The Police says they might know who he is, but I think just to reassure people here.

hi kostas I know if its a fairly small town they might not have anyone to patrol the car park b ut surely somone could be there at night to watch for prowlers and he might get caught too. hope it st ops so meway soon.

Even in Italy, I have to say that unfortunately, this phenomenon of vandalism, it took a long field, starting this summer. Only a week ago, less than 50 meters from my house, a fire safe matrix arson, incinerated 19 motorcycles, plus, a few cars parked there. I do not know exactly why now these barbaric acts have taken the field. Even in this case, referring to the fire happened near my house, it would seem that no one saw anything! And believe me that this thing seems to me very, very strange!

This is crazy, it is not barbaric. I might understand his motives if he was burning rich people's cars. We'll know when they catch him.

Hello, kostas! Well, that is strange indeed. But I must say I think this person is an arsonist. He must like fires very much. And the police do have a person of interest. They apparently don't have enough evidence to make an arrest. But if they are thinking of a particular person, they'll most likely watch him and wait for him to incriminate himself. I take it no one was hurt in these fires? Thirty cars in a year is a lot. Were they expensive cars or just a mix of any cars at all? This is not happening where you live, right? Just at the place where the Vespa meeting was, by the sea?

I think no one was hurt, he burns them at night. Different cars, some expensive too. It happens anywhere in my region but mostly on the mountain and the Police thinks he might live there, in a village. This is my region, Magnisia, Greece. http://www.greekhotel.com/thessaly/pelion/pelion.gif Burned cars in Volos, Kissos, Tsagarada, Agios Ioannis, and Portaria.

That is a beautiful place. I was looking up pictures of the area. I didn't see Volos on your map, but I see the area he is burning cars in. Wow. Crazy!

Why doesn't police do anything? These types of crime will give rise to courage in criminals if the culprit isn't caught. And that can lead to a massacre.

hi Kosta thats horrid and cars so expensive now. what is wrong with the local police and why does not anyone see the arsonist who b urns up cars? someone surely must have seen this person at some time.If nothing else why are not there some guards in that parking lot to catch this dreadful man?odd that nobody has seen him or maybe some have but do not want to get involved.thats horrid as he needs to be stopped before he might set fire to a car with someone in it,I do hope he gets caught and locked up or put in a mental institution instead. i

I asked a friend the same thing, how come no one has seen anything. He said he does it at night and people in villages are asleep. I think, besides the fact that the Police are sleepy, it must be hard to catch him. You spill some gasoline, light it and you're gone.

That is terrible. That man should be apprehended immediately and put to jail without bail. How could he be that crazy to burn cars just like that. He has obviously lost his right mind. What was the police doing. I believe even the people should help to catch this man. What if your car is the next? That's really horrible.

People are becoming eccentric and weird, day by day. Some out of jealousy and hatred and some out of boredom. This happens because hatred has overcome people and they react with destruction and murder.Let us put our hands together and pray that love and kindness will fill us all from doing such foolish crime of destruction that will beget more hurt and hatred.

Good point. Eccentric and weird, trying to find ways to be different. Some of them find the wrong ways.

haahaa. What happened to the man that he membakara vehicles are there? whether he is a man who does not like a car. This should be followed because if this takes place continuously will cause harm to the people who have vehicles.
