Apparently the genders are equal when it comes to ability but i can think of one where they lose out. When it comes to shopping if a supermarket reduces an item women seem destined to buy it, no matter if it is a wrack of lamb or a jar of bolivian honey. Give the man the shopping money and they will come back with what they need and nothing else, a woman will come back with an excess of "special offers" Do you agree? Are you guilty of this? Do you know of any other areas that men excel at? Do you know of any areas that women excel at? Obviously this discussion is very tongue in cheek so please do not go crazy at me. ( I'm talking to the women as that is something they excel at)

Well, when I was single the only thing in my fridge was a quart of milk, some ketchup, mustard and mayo. Maybe some relish. The freezer had a tray of ice and a frozen dinner (in case of emergency). I ate out a lot. But then I moved into a house with someone and I bought a lot of food, not necessarily on sale. I love lobster, shrimp & steamers. The sales I like are the ones for clothes. And now, 23 years later, I'm out of a job, old and I'm not buying much of anything. But I do know women who fit your description. And I knew someone who would buy something she normally wouldn't buy because she had a coupon and it was on sale. She was saving maybe .60. I told her that she could save even more if she didn't buy it at all. And yes, I know something that men and women excel at but I don't think mylot allows discussions of that nature.

Come to think of it, I was thinner back then too. Maybe I should start eating out again.

Hee hee. I will only speak for my own situation! Yes, I love a good sale - I'm the couponer and serious bargain hunter. But I don't buy things just because it's on sale . . . I like to think I'm extremely frugal and actually do save money because I only buy the things that I need or want (and will use). Ahem, this is the current family minded-me of course . . . the old me in my early 20's with the plastic cards may have said something else! Hubby does come back with exactly what he needs - and he certainly finishes much faster than I would because he doesn't take the time to compare prices like I do. But he is the one who will come back with the special extras - like tubs of ice cream for the kids (or himself - ha ha!).

Probably only the women you know. I don't know one woman who is eager to buy anything that is reduced in price no matter what it looks like. Also I don't know women (except one) who love to shop, buy a lot of shoes, handbags or what so ever. I only know men who are not able to buy the shoppings for one week (decent food) and buy a lot of nonsense (waste of money) and luxury stuff they can't afford just because they think they can't live without it and it's a cheap buy since it's reduced in price, sale or ...

I'm totally agree with you man! You are right! How can you explain the fact that you give a tiny little car to a woman, you can't even call it a car... maybe a minicar o microcar or what ever, it's not the point, you gave it to her. Let her drive the microcar 2 miles, and I guarantee you, she will come back with the paint scratched, or worst. :))
