NO, i am not old yet if talking about age...but my friend said that... Iphone 5 was born and all of my friends are excited with it, they find its information on the internet, and try to buy it as soon as possible. They are happy to talk about their iphone 5 while i am very cold with it, i also have no intend to know more about iphone 5 and i said i am ok with my current phone, it is a samsung champ, not smart phone at all because i just need to make/receive phone calls and chat with my friends on YM at night only. With iphone 5 or iphone 6, i don't know what to do with it. They said i am too old, not update new technologies, blah blah...

You are never old! My classmates use smartphones because they don't have laptop. In fact, phone by definition is used to make and receive phone calls. And It's ok if you don't have smartphone because you don't need these applications. Many people don't need them, too. And I'm happy to find such a frugal person like you.

hihih, i don't have a laptop also, but i really don't think i can do MSword or read files in a mall screen like that. I prefer to read on a big screen such as PC screen or laptop screen.

Well,i mean they didn't have their own tools to surf the internet(no desktop, no laptop) until their parents got them a smartphone or tablet pc^^ yeah, I always watch movies and cartoons and do MSword in my laptop. It's hard to type in the small smartphone.

I think you aren't an old woman, nor being dubbed as an old fashioned one. You are just a practical user of technology. You use things according to it's purpose. Yes, gadgets are improving and upgrading almost every year if not every month and it we want to be updated it requires a lot of money to do it. Sometimes people to tend to be technologically updated regardless of its usage. The purpose of the phone is to send and received message, give and answer calls and if it serves its purpose then that's fine. Having an internet is indeed wonderful but if you already have a laptop or computer then that's enough. That's I guess being wise and practical. Well, updated gadgets are somehow good for its in, and for status symbol sometimes.

hihi exactly!!! i prefer to use a computer to watch movies or working on documents, not a small screen on iphone. one of my friend asked me to teach him english and then he pays me his iphone but i said no, i don't need iphone, i need money only, hihihi

yah right, don't change your mind for other people specially if it's not so important. Me too, I thought having iphone is good for you can have internet in the phone, camera, etc. but I realized that those features can't really be like the photo of the original camera, the satisfaction that we can have if we're using the internet because its screen is not big. So why choose a smaller one when we have a big one?

don't worry you are not alone. I read its review online and well yes there were amazing features i guess but it is just a very expensive phone for me. i am using samsung corby 2 right now. I had an iphone which my brother gave me but i gave it to my mom, i find it hard to call using that phone and even to text.

Apple always have expensive products. There is not a single product that comes in at a reasonable price. It charges too much for its brand value. I dont go much for brands, but not that I go for low quality things. But i always prefer utility over brands.

As I said in my response, it depends on the "use" of things. I am not a loyal Apple-user but I do get why they're expensive. You can feel it with the quality. I think their value for money has always been high. You wouldn't need to worry that it doesn't work because it always will. But the things is, if you cannot afford it or don't really have much use for it - then regardless if you have the money, you're just wasting your money on it.

Yes, we really don't need an expensive phone with a lot of apps if they are just useless. A simple one can cater our needs to make calls and send text messages. :)

When you buy this new technologies it must be a necessity not just for luxury, however if you are rich then i think its okay..you can spend it. But for me, i don't find it oldie as what you're friends say, you are just being realistic. You don't need to buy all the latest gadgets just to be in or impress everyone. How can you find the value of things if you don't appreciate it long enough. I am proud of you of having this kind of attitude, with this attitude you will have a better future.

I don't think it has to do with age but rather that you don't see the need for all the technology. It is like with everything I suppose, those people that must have the latest car, the most modern television, the most modern everything, it doesn't matter what age you are it is about what someone finds interesting or gives priority to. As long as you feel that what you have is enough, it is.

I think people just get too flashy at times. They feel having the latest things and following latest trends makes you famous and earns you respect. I dont know when these people would get convinced about the fact that these are just silly things. i am happy that most of the mylotters are atleast sensible.

I like technology, however, I am not interested in iPhone products at all. I can list reasons not to buy it. In fact I feel like that iPhone today seems to be show off rather than its practical usage. People want to tell that they can afford iPhone, as to whether they can take good advantage of it, I have a big doubt. I can buy very good cellphone with less money. I think buying iPhone is not wise.

Iphone has become more of a fashion statement than what it means in terms of usage. I have many reasons to believe this. Their version of maps seem to extremely poor. I saw in many social networks, people just complaining about it. I think they are just losing the plot running behind the aesthetics.

Hi, Not too old, just clinging to what is familiar. I am not ignorant of new trends in technologies being a computer technician and programmer but when it comes to my personal preferences, I tend to stick to what is proven and reliable aside from the high cost of acquisition which I can ill afford. So why get something new if I can use what I have now at no cost at all.

Rog, you have given a wise suggestion or infact point. Its always rely on to what is reliable. may be you wouldnt be having the latest. But we should know its very rare that we use the latest technology in our life frequently. I mean just analyze how many apps in your mobile phone do we use daily. Its indeed very few.

Yes of course, there is a huge hype among the people regarding Iphone 5 but what's the big deal with that. It is just a matter of making and receiving calls and nothing other. The ones who have called u old are using cell phones just for a fashion statement. One does not become old if he is not using the latest technology, u should have given this statement to them. Over this they come at a very reasonable price. The brand value of samsung is also godd. Anytime I would go for Samsung S3 over iphone.

They are wrong my friend. You're not too old. Being not updated on latest gadgets or technologies doesn't mean we are old. I'm just 25 years old and I have a locally made phone here in our country and that's not a smart phone too. Then they would call me old because of that? No. They are wrong. Like you've said you owned a Samsung Champ, because you just need it to make and receive phone calls and chat with your friends on YM. See? That's the real reason why mobile phones are invented. To communicate easily. People nowadays aren't just contented on what they have. So they keep on inventing and/or upgrading things. You should always remember that we buy things based on 2 different reasons. First, we buy things because we "need it". Secondly, we buy things because we "want it". As you've said earlier you have a mobile phone mainly for communication purposes only. So you've bought the Champ because you need it. And may I add, we buy things to make us happy not to make others happy.

Even I would say why would I require them. I have a phone to make phone calls. for taking photos, i have good enough camera and fine Walkman to listen to music. Just because something is fantastic doesnt mean I need to have it. I need something that is useful to me, not that is flashy to my eyes. i would say you have taken a fantastic decision. if somebody calls you old, correct them and say that you are wise.
