Have you found your calling in life?

Some people say they have a calling you hear that mostly among religious people like a priest or a nun. But I have always known that I have a calling in life and that is to help people. Since I was a teenager I have been helping people. I worked in many volunteer jobs throughout the world to help people. I became a therapist to help people. Now that I am on disability and I don't work outside of the house, I help people through my writing giving them medical and psychology knowledge and so on. Do you have a calling and do you know what it is? Are you still searching to find yourself and finding out what your calling might be?

Like many others, I sort of look for that calling in life. I make some trial and error, I work as a teacher, but it does not work. I love children and I want to minister to them in the way that I can but my work was full of intrigued so I quit. Right now, with the dawn of internet I see that my calling could be in writing articles that can inspire or enlighten people. I would like to use writing as a ministry. I want to encourage people and I want them to challenge their beliefs. I guess your calling is where you are placed right now and you are quite doing well with it.

that is what I do, writing on the internet now. It is my calling. my first book, Picking up the Pieces: A Woman's Journey is all about my life. I did that too so my grandson would get to know me. In my book Angels Watching Over me, Katie-Ann was orphaned at the age of 14 and she was the one who raised all her siblings. When the siblings all left the nest, she continued caring for the elderly because she always knew that care giving was her calling.

I have not found my calling but I sure wish I could. I'm not sure how to find mine.I have been in a bad place for few years struggling with depression and anxiety. I have days that I don't even feel who I am. I think I have talents that I could use for my calling but I can't figure out how to do it. I see myself as artistic and also caring about other people. I use to be a nurse when I worked full time so I was able to show how much I cared about people. Now I just care for people in my family as I feel well enough. Someday I hope I can find my purpose of life.

Yes it is very hard to find yourself again when you are depressed, but that fact that you want to try is the first step. It might take awhile for you to find it but if you are sincere and passionate about it you will. my first book, Picking up the Pieces: A Woman's Journey is all about my life. I did that too so my grandson would get to know me. In my book Angels Watching Over me, Katie-Ann was orphaned at the age of 14 and she was the one who raised all her siblings. I've not sure exactly what constitutes a calling, who does the calling and how do you hear it? In a general sense I believe we all have a calling to love one another, to protect those we love, to respect our bodies, to educate our brains etc. and this is a list that could get very long. If a calling is finding out about an ability, as some have responded in this way, then most people do not have one, we are just ordinary people but if we live in the general sense I have suggested then we all have a calling and most of us are fulfilling it.

a calling is a driving force within yourself to do something and no matter how hard or how others are resistant to the idea you just know that this is what you have to do in life. That is why non and priests are said to have a calling, because they resist the outside world and do what is in the heart, mind, body and soul. my first book, Picking up the Pieces: A Woman's Journey is all about my life. I did that too so my grandson would get to know me. In my book Angels Watching Over me, Katie-Ann was orphaned at the age of 14 and she was the one who raised all her siblings. I do have the same passion to help other people, I did the mission last year, I was in an isolated outbreak area. I was still thinking to do the same, but I need to set back a little to think it over. Have a great day!

No, never felt a real "calling" but maybe saving cats might be the closest. Oh, and telling silly stories...

Yes, I have found my calling in life. It took me long enough. Here I was trying to make a relationship with a man last and be wonderful when I found I just wasn't any good at chosing Mr. Right and making the relationship last very long. I did find that I am a caregiver back afew years. After my daughter's last bad manic phase about three years ago now I have commited to staying with her and helping her raise her son. And I think I am a fair writer as well.

I found where I should belong. I found spiritual peace and contentment 15 years ago. My faith teaches me how to live while helping other people in my own little way. I am also a volunteer in our charity organization for 15 years now and I am happy and contented with what I am doing. I have peace within no matter how difficult life is.

I have been told that I missed my calling. I started figure skating as an adult - and although I was pretty good at it (I competed and performed), I have been told numerous times by fellow skaters and coaches that I missed my calling. Learning to skate as a child is a big difference from learning as an adult . . . and I guess I will always have to wonder what "would have been" if I had started much earlier.

well hon it is not over til it is over as they say, maybe you can teach skating to children, or you will find another calling. my first book, Picking up the Pieces: A Woman's Journey is all about my life. I did that too so my grandson would get to know me. In my book Angels Watching Over me, Katie-Ann was orphaned at the age of 14 and she was the one who raised all her siblings. I don't think I have a calling or never felt I had one. Also never thought I would get old so never made thoughts about what to do with my life or what profession I would like to have. I got way older as expected. I had the fear my kids would never know me so I wrote diaries to all of them. This way they can read my thoughts, ideas, be with me, there is no need to get me known by what others (mostly people who did not know me at all) tell them about me.I did do a lot in my life (looking back), have all kind of life experiences (at least my life is never dull or never been dull), no special wishes or goals I have to chase at. It's fine the way it is.

Good question. I don't really know. I've done some things in my life but don't know that any of them were a particular calling. For a long time I saved cats, mostly ferals that nobody could or would be bothered with seeing as how they were so wild. I understand their fear and they seem to trust me. But without enough finances I can't help them anymore. I'm just kind of in limbo here. I guess I'll never know what I might have/could have done.

here the people who save animals on their own get private donations perhaps you can ask the local businesses etc if they would help. my first book, Picking up the Pieces: A Woman's Journey is all about my life.
