My goodness. One whole week without the Internet? I would go crazy dear without the Internet. If it's only for a few hours when the Internet is down due to maintenance, I can endure it but one whole week? I don't even want to think about that happening. But I guess, I will survive if there's no Internet. I can catch up with my reading and watching television or go to the cinema.

If it's one day without the Internet, I can endure. But one whole week will be torture. My daughter would go crazy. When the Internet is down, she will persuade me to bring her to the nearest McD or anywhere with free WIFI just so she can go online.

Yes, it was pretty boring! You don't realize how good something is until you don't have it.

well when I depended on the internet to supplement my income I was not a happy camper without it, but otherwise I don't have to be on the Internet all the time, I get tired of it.

When I'm offline for that long my inbox is flooded with discussion notifications. I always go through them, but it seems to take so long! Which movies did you watch? Any ones you'd recommend?

Jodee, whenever i am faraway from my computer i can spend more time into my offline matters. In fact, there are quite a lot things that we can enjoy doing when we are not online. That's why, i always make sure that i had settle my daily offline matters before i come online. Because once i come online, i would surely trying to spend a few hours into it. I plan to have a nice vacation without my laptop in the coming week.

I agree with you. Every time I go on vacations I don`t get even near a computer and I have a lot of fun. I`m sure that I`d be able to do a lot of things that need to be done at hme if I wasn`t hooked to the laptop. Let`s hope that Spring here helps me get more time away from it and more into the garden.

I missed not being to do anything because the weather here has been cool. We even had snow showers and I didn't want to go outside and missed corresponding with friends on the internet.

Marg, try to arrange more time into gardening since it is Spring time now. And hope to hear more news about your veggies as well. Come online when you want to be free from your outdoor activities. Jodee, you are lucky to have snow showers in your area. In my area here, we are having a terrible hot weather.

It can be difficult sometimes to be without internet. My husband and I haven't had internet at our place for a while now. As difficult as it can be sometimes, we do manage. We watch movies, listen to music, read, go out for walks more often, ... We find ways.

I don't think that I would be able to cope without the internet these days, but the main reason for this is because of the fact that I use it to do all of my work and if I was not able to get onto the internet to submit my articles then there would be no way that I could make the amount of money that I need to in order to pay all of the bills. I think a lot of people take things for granted, and they would be in for a bit of a shock if they lost them one day and was then unable to get it back, as I would be if I wasn't able to complete all of my work on time.

When I don't have internet, I'll watch tv and catch up on some shows. I too will curl up with my book and read. Depending on how long my internet is out, I may read through a whole bunch of books. Like one time my internet was out for a week and I read through 3 books in that 1 week. I also will play some of my computer games and clean around the house. You are right there is life outside the internet.

I agree with you, once I get into reading a book, I can't stop! You know what I did before I got addicted to the internet!

it's hard for me to live without internet since it is fun to surf on the net and do lots of stuff. But i agree, we can do more things if we are not on the computer. it is a healthy practice to have a day or two free from the internet.

hi Jodee, if I didnt have internet for a while I would return to my other hobbies of reading and writing snail mail. In fact the internet consumes so much of my free time that I rarely read and write snail mail any more and thats not good for me. So I would be sort of glad if the internet collapsed for a week and it would be best in a week off so I could really take time to play catch up with said reading and writing and also a bit of filing stuff. I didnt get notifications about my friends discussions for roughly a week now so I guess I will have missed a lot here too.

Pretty much things. Reading books, doing assignments, playing with GIMP and stuffs, playing games, and such. Without internet, I couldn't get update about things around me as good as with it. But there's still a life. And it's kinda fun too :P.

I can survive without internet, there are many activities I can do without internet. I can use my free time to read my books, doing craft projects, hang out and enjoys the nature, etc. Actually my daily internet activities are mylotting, blogging and browsing for new pattern, so it wont really change my life even if I dont have internet for a while. Supposed if I dont have internet for few days I can replace it with offline activities, for mylot time I can replace it by hang out with friends or visiting family, for blogging I can write it on notepad and then publish it when I finally have internet, for browsing new pattern I can go to bookstore or go to library to get pattern books. But of course I will be missing mylot, because I feel that mylot members is like friends to have fun to.

Of course you didn't miss anything. It would still be here for you! I know what you mean by getting things done. I am a big reader. With no internet, I get a lot more reading done! generally I waste the majority of my time on the internet in the morning. I read/watch news, then of course comment on it! The end of the day, I might turn on my laptop to watch a tv program, we haven't had cable in about 10 years. Not even sure where my tvs are, I think in storage. Otherwise, I get home from work, get into jammies and go to bed with a book!

chances of missing something truly important are slim to none. that being said, i like occasional breaks from technology. It is nice to not be connected to everyone and everything.

it is so hard if i don't have Internet, i think it is hard to image, i study and live with internet every day and most information i get is from internet. if i don't have internet, well, sleeping is a good thing to do when i am boring. and it is so good to read books, i like reading books. watching TV is also a good choice but i don't think it is funny to watch TV. i have nothing TV programs i like, in fact, TV for me is just to use it to watch NBA. all in all, reading is a good choice when i don't have internet.
