Lady's day entrance for free. Not a bar, but a museum.

A museum is having a Ladies' Day. Free entrance and free prizes from area businesses. Sounds like fun. I'm not sure if I'll be able to go or not. But it does sound interseting. A few weeks ago, they had children for free at some museums. A few weeks before that, they had free museum tours for 3 museums in one day. So does any place have free admission days that usually has admission, so you can try the place out where you live?

Sounds like a good way to attract visitors to the museum. I know a friend who takes her young kids to the movies on Tuesdays. She told me it's "Mums with prams" day when she can get in for free.

That sounds nice that families can go for free to movies on Tuesdays. They probably make it up in the price of popcorn, candy and drinks.

Oh, I misunderstood. Thank you for clarifying. It's still very nice. Thanks and take care.

Oh, free only for the mothers. Still need to buy tickets for the kids. So it's not really free movie for the entire family.

I haven't heard of any place in my area recently allowing free admission. I do like going to the art museum in Knoxville though. They run on donations so when you go in, you give what you can spare as an entry fee.

Our Art Museum does the same. I usually put in a dollar. But I joined them this time. Reminds me, they allow people to sell art there. Only 3 pieces at a time and only small stuff in their gift shop. I need to start earning my $ back. Thanks and take care.

That would be awesome! Ours has a gift shop where members put stuff in all the time. But they have a special day once a year where every member can put something in. That takes up the entire gallery for a week or two. Yes, join if they do things for members. We get reduced rates for classes, listings, pictures can be put in an album of our work, all kinds of stuff they do for members. They let you know about art grants, art volunteer programs, all kinds of stuff.

I wonder if my museum does that. There is a member's program but I ma not sure what it entails. I will have to check that out. It would be neat to have something I painted there.

Yes, that 3 museums for free weekend, that one I'm usually busy, too. Didn't get to go to this one either. Reiki Attunement and Harvest Dinner so I didn't go. But I'd like to.

I think we have to admit it that only few people will go to a museum....so in order to drag crowds, they are doing such thing! Hope it will be a huge hit and that people will be educated enough of visiting museums...

I hope so, too. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to go. I had other things I needed to spend my gas money on. Plus if people go to museums, they usually buy souvenirs.

Hi writers That sounds exciting. i wish we had some freebies here too at our place. Though some of the entrance to parks are still free, the other places normally arent. But yes, there are some special days when they sell tickets at a discounted price. A few days back (on Oct 2nd when the Nation was celebrating the Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi) the entry fee for the museum here was slashed by about 50% and also the children under 10 were allowed for free. There is a planetarium which too had slashed prices.

Parks for free, that's really nice. Only disabled people get that here right now and they thought about taking that away. Mostly because they said with this economy, they couldn't afford it right now. Slashed prices sounds wonderful, while not free, it does help more people to enjoy someting. The Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi must have been really something. What do people do for that? I watched the movie of his life. Very brave and wise.

You have a wonderful day, too. Would you like to be my friend? I just sent a friend request. Not many people up this time of the day were I live. Having you as a friend could be fun. I'm here inconsistently due to being ill a lot. But I do try to answer friends from time to time when I'm well.
