Hello Lotters, Last Night my Mom told me to make two kinds of flags. one is for South Korea and one is Bangladesh. It reminds that that United Nations day is nearing, that my elder nephew and niece are going to participate. so these two countries are going to be represented by them. When I was a kid, my first costume and flag was Czech Republic, but i knew the whole name of it once. second, it was thailand So, have you made a Flag before?

I have made a flag of PRC when I was in kindergarten. That demanded my drawing skill and manual skill. All we get first was a piece of pure white cloth and a little wood pole, it was quite interesting while I recall the scene of a kid drawing and pasting.

Hello JinBinLai, What is PRC? I used balloon stick because it the nearest i could bought. It was really cool drawing and pasting some thing like that. mostly, I used art papers and glue, then i put plastic covers so that the flag won't be ale to get rusty of dirt.

Hi, LetranKningt, PRC is short for" People's republic of China". And it's smart to put plastic covers on the flag. I really miss those days making tiny things as a child. Nowadays I'v seldom saw any children making these for fun, instead, they prefer playing computer games.

Oh yeah I remember it too when we are required to make a flag for a certain country to commemorate UN day. And there were times that I also remember wearing costume that represents the country assigned to me and I have to go in front of the class and say something in their own language. I remember getting Brazil and it took me hard time to research the language they use and speak it out of the class.

Hello Rsa101, You could have just check the language of it i believe some language actually originated to portugese language. wow, must have been a really hard on your situation because you had to speak the language. I don't know if i were able to speak it fluently knowng that czech and thailand were totally different languages.

If I was right recalling it the language they use is some kind of Portuguese if I still recall that right. Since there was no internet available during that time, I did researching it manually on Library. If it was given to me today, I might have easily get it via the net and my problems was solved already. I also searched for the national costume and I just reinvented them easily. It was a project in our Social Studies back then and if I fail to find a good presentation then it would mean I get low grade on that subject. I think that I did good enough there since my grade was not that bad.

Hello Jaihosis, Well, the bangladesh flag was kinda easy to me because it only required two colors. while South korean flag you didn't need to have background color only while but i had to make the symbols one by one. I wonder what's wrong with the Japanese flag but i guess they think it's easy and they don't want students making easy to make flag.

Same here :) Japan's flag was always my first option. Funny now that it's my kids' turn to make flags for their U.N. Day activity and their teachers would constantly remind them that they can choose to create any flag they want except Japan .

Hello Bhabycatch013, Yeah I figured that the Japanese flag are easy to make and then have it ready for the event. well, one thing can do is print a flag and cover the other colors of the flag with art papers. as of now I am proud to have made that flag own my own using art materials, seems easy enough if i was doing it all the time. have a nice day.

We made one here in my home once. We used quilt patches to make an american flag. we then sold it for 75.00 and donated the money to a homeless shelter. was alot of work but was worth it. You give me the idea to do one to donate for xmas money.

Hello Gaiza12, I don't remember making flags when I was a kid, how ever i remember having tailors make me a czech and then another year for the thailand costume. maybe i should have thought about making a new one for the Philippine Flag knowing that i made it out of nationalist pride. Have a Nice day.

Just this weekend, two of my sons asked me to make the of US and Italy. It will be used for their UN Day program next week. This is an annual event in most of the schools here in our city. During my high school, we also had a similar program. There was sort of a pageant showcasing the different countries represented by the contestants.
