I am a true believer of God's Word and I am confident enough that what we have today is really God's Word. However, as you open your ears, there are people who attack the validity and reliability of the Bible. As a Christian, how can you defend that your Bible is true and dependable?

The prophecies. Read the old prophets and then the New Testament and it's obvious that "the Bible" knew what it was talking about from 'way back when. "Wounded for our transgressions" (Isaiah 53:5) couldn't have been more explicit. The times when the prophets told Israel to turn back to God and then the times when they didn't and awful things happened to them. Jesus' prophesy that Jerusalem would be destroyed. Time after time prophecies written in the Bible have come to pass.

Jesus did not make any prophesy that Jerusalem would be destroyed. Time to reread Mark.

Clear that he was talking about the temple, not the city.

Matthew 24: "Jesus left the temple and was walking away when his disciples came up to him to call his attention to its buildings. “Do you see all these things?” he asked. “Truly I tell you, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.” Seems clear enough to me.

1. The Celtic Church in Galicia was formed by those that walked the earth whilst Jesus did 2. The Texts from which the Bible is translated still exists 3. There are numerous texts which agree 4. The words of Jesus miraculously shine down through the centuries all the best, urban

While the texts from which the Bible was translated may exist they are not the original texts. It is not so amazing that texts that share a source have points of agreement. Christianity today reflects the words of Paul much more than Jesus's teaching. At the hand of Paul Christianity became a religion about Jesus rather than the religion of Jesus.

But earlier text which have been found agree with those texts. I don't accept your latter statement as true all the best, urban

The Bible is what it is. What it is not is a history book or a science text. It is not the word of a god and never claims to be.

I am not a critic of the Bible. I am a student of it and seek to understand how and why it was written and who wrote it. There is little science in it and most of the history is incorrect. The message of the Bible is not history or science. de omnibus dubitandum

I don't exactly understand what you mean but if you are questioning the claim of the scripture then you are just simply a critic of it without realizing and admitting that it is indeed a a historical book. True science also agree with the scripture.

give me the proof that the historical record of the Bible is wrong. The Bible is true to all its content in whole and in part. You may want to try all your best to thwart it but the truth parades before your unbelief.

All of the passage of the bible referring to prophecy. Those words emphasize in the bible are all true. It written the old days, the past and the future of this world. Most the prophecy was happen and those prophecy that will happen in the future are continuously happening...

Hi aerous, thanks for posting in. God's means to pen His Words were men of His own will. This men were not the one who owns the Words. The Bible is not man made. The Bible is God's Word.

This bible is waht has left from the real one. It was rewritten in 16 century. I am also a christian, but i don't trust the bible. There is also something good there, but you must know where to look. And about the 10 comandments, the only sin is when you hurt someone. Doesn't matter in what way. And one thing tht i keep hearing is that god is supposed to forgive us. Well, he doese, but that doesn't mean we don't have to pay for our mistakes. Karma is the only fair law and can't be brocken by ANYONE, not even him.

The idea of karma as it exists in Buddhism is so far from what you describe as to be unrecognizable. de omnibus dubitandum

Karma is an evil doctrine; what I am is, at least to a large degree, the sum total of my choices and experiences, that I should be punished or rewarded for the actions taken by some supposed previous individual that was in no real sense of the word, me, is the most outrageous injustice imaginable. This system of Karmic determinism is an invention of the rich and powerful, used to justify their oppression of the weak and vulnerable that keeps millions in near slavery. It is one of the great evils in the world all the best, urban

jdalaqui: I am a christian, but i don't follow them as a sheep. I take what is good from it. If someone have sinned, doesn't mean he has to die. And i am more confortable with karma because it has all the scripture in it and a bit more. And i won't reconsider it because is the result of many researches. urbandekay: Karma is not evil. I'm not talking about a written law of some belief, i'm talking about the real Karma And you ill be punished for your mistakes, but not by any human. You talk about Karma but you don't understand it. You don't know anything about slavery. I'm not tryig to do anything wrong, but i got this knowledges and is my duty to pass them. It's not my fault that the one that gets them is not awake to use them.

Hi mariaperalta, thanks for posting in. The Bible is of course a collection of books but the owner is one. These books were written by the inspiration of the Holy spirit so that they are complete and perfect whether in part or in whole. I hope that as you read, note of the truthfulness and the offer of God written there for.

Well the historical accuracy of the Bible is all but completely undeniable. Everything everyone has ever checked about its historic claims come back true. The only exception being Jesus himself, because we can't find the body. But then, we're not supposed to find it. He came back to life, and ascended into Heaven. Ironic that most claim he doesn't exist because we can't find evidence of him, when the Bible suggests that this itself is one of the proofs that he came back to life. Beyond the historic accuracy, there are thousands of prophecies, that have come true completely, others that are coming true as we speak. The prophetic truths in the Bible, to me prove it is true. And lastly, the Bible is the most accurate and thorough description of everything it is to be human. From our desires, to our dreams, to our hopes and fears. No greater explanation of the human condition has ever been written anywhere else in the world. And lastly, is the undebatable experience of meeting G-d. Once you meet the living G-d of the universe, there is nothing that can deny it to you. So yes, I am absolutely convinced of the truth, accuracy, prophetic ability of the Bible.

hi andy, thanks for joining in and I as a believer of the scripture salute you for upholding its truthfulness. along the course of history, we see that the Bible stood firm and true. Prophecies also have been unfolded on their appointed time and thus we are confident enough that the scripture is absolutely true and correct.

I don't know if the Bible is real. Men have written fiction since the beginning of the world. Who's to say that all the documents are real or not? To begin with, all translations of those documents were done by men, with theie own thoughts that color the translations. I'm not even sure if I believe in God anymore, and sometines I think formal religions are simply big business...that someone saw a way to make a profit from herding people into a belief system. I guess I have to say that there is no proof either way.

Hi lacieice, thanks for posting in. There are men who refuses to admit and acknowledge that the Bible is credible and precious, powerful and life changing. The reason is simple, they don't believe who wrote it. The Bible is God's word penned by men whom God choose to record His Words. Try to read the Scripture and ask God the author to guide you. You will see how awesome and wonderful the Words of God are.

I am a true believer in God's word also and the words and scriptures that is written in that Bible is what has kept me going all these years. The trust and the faith in a being that none of us has ever seen. For some people the only way they can truly believe in something is to be able to see it and touch it, if not it is not real to them. If you are truly a believer in Gods word then you have to know that those people who attack the validity and reliability of the Bible will be dealt with one day at God's discretion. As a Christian you just keep the faith and keep spreading God's word the way He would want us too. Just remember, when Jesus walked the earth men attacked the validity of who He was and they could see and touch Him. They even witnessed His miracles first hand, yet still doubted. Pray for them and don't let the doubting Thomas' of the world sway your faith. Just keep the faith and keep reading and spreading the scripture, let God take care of the rest.

Hi Sukeena. Ithank God for you faith in God and in His Word. Of course I agree that those who do not accept the Bible will face and suffer the consequence of their unbelief. I like your attitude towards them. You are correct and saying that we must pray for them so that they too by God's grace will see the light.
