How often do you cook instant noodles?

Everyday? Once a week? Once every two weeks? I am asking this because I know that instant noodles are the easiest to prepare and they are also affordable. I once had two bed spacers, female college students, who almost ate nothing but noodles everyday. They had for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Personally, I like instant noodles. In fact, this is the favorite of one member of the family. However, I have heard so many negative things said about instant noodles. In short, they say they are bad for the health. But I can't avoid buying them from time to time, say once every two weeks or sometimes once a week because they are easy to prepare and also cheap. What is your noodle experience? Share.

I never buy them. Those are the sorts of things that you eat if you don't have access to a full kitchen and/or are unwilling to learn how to prepare real meals. Even when I've had limited kitchen facilities, I knew how to prepare a decent meal with healthy foods.

hi cutie18f. i do not eat instant noodles. back then, i used to because it was convenient to cook and it was indeed tasty. however, when i decided to eat healthy, i stopped having noodles. my daughter loves instant noodles and so far, i've convinced her to limit eating noodles. hopefully, i can convince altogether to stop eating instant noodles and start eating healthy as well. an additional bit, i read an article wherein charities are discouraging people from donating noodles and even sardines because these aren't deemed as healthy foods by these organizations. anyway, the appeal makes sense to me. cheers and happy mylotting cutie18f!!!

It does cook fast and easy--good for people who are always on the go. But we have to minimize eating it too often.

my parents always buys instant noodles when having their salary, it's because they are always at work and they rarely go home early that they cannot make food for us... instant noodles are easy to prepare and it takes only a few minutes. but yes they have low nutrition so we must avoid eating them regularly.. :)

I think once a week would be fair enough considering all the negative things we hear about eating it too often.

Hi Cutie18f, i seldom cook instant noodles due to health conscious. A packet of instant noodle a day, will take you at least a week to digest and toxin cleansed from your body. Hence, it is really not advisable to eat so much instant noodle especially everyday is really something we need to watch out. Instant noodles has a lot of wax, and is harmful to our body if we take too much. So, when you cook, must make sure to boil the noodles once, and pour away the first round water. This is where you see the water is whitish in color because of the wax. Then pour another round of hot water to cook your noodle again. So, first round you don't need to make your noodles too cooked, because you still have second round to cook the noodles again. This is much more better. Also, the spices in the packet, do not put to boil together with the noodles. It's better to pour the spices in the bowl, and pour your cooked noodle into the bowl, and stir to mix well. Then ready to be served.

I'm don't cook to much instant noodles maybe once every two weeks or sometimes if it is emergency and need to eat right away I just buy to the nearest store here in my street. It is just I don't want to be use to eat non nutritious food specially for my daughter who still on school. But I can't admit I love the seafood flavor.

Although people say that it is not healthy to eat the instant noodles. And they even regard it as a kind of junk food. I don't agree to it. Instant noodles is delicious and I like to make it as the breakfast. Sometimes I will avoid using their flavors and seasonings. I just boil the water and then cook the instant noodles. Sometimes I will add an egg on it. And then I will just use the sesame oil with the soy sauce to mix the instant noodles so that they will have some flavors.

I personally love noodles, be it any noodles. I have a stack of instant noodles at home. I make them very often as i and my sister live alone and many times it is very bore to prepare food for myself or dinner just for two and we both don't eat much. And these noodles come so handy. I love chicken flavored and chilly flavored instant noodle, for me i hate eating vegetable noodles. I know they are not good for health but at least you don't have to run down the kitchen and wait there for long hours and cook food to eat this is good option when you are not feeling well. And also good in winters you can just get out of your bed for 5 min and then eat the hot. i am hungry now

Instant noodles aren't exactly bad for our health but it's not also a good source of nutrients for us. So usually it's best that we eat them along with other food dishes just to have a balanced diet. I myself buy instant noodles, but mostly those noodle soups in cups. It's actually for convenience since preparing them using fresh ingredients takes a lot of time :) And most of them aren't expensive, especially the local brands. But some made from Japan and Korea could still pinch a bit on your budget but they really taste better than the cheaper brands.

I think once a week, most especially on a Friday when I am already fresh out of ideas on what to cook, haha! You're right, it's cheap, fast and easy to cook. Really convenient for busy people. Of course it's got preservatives and if you wouldn't give your system a chance to actually breakdown and flush out the "radicals" it can build up over time and be harmful as well. Like everything else, it should be in moderation.

Hi Raine. Yes, it is really a problem to be thinking of what food to have for the family and noodles usually will do the trick.

When I heard that instant noodles might cause some sickness, I refrain from eating it always. Anything that is too much is bad. It's good to eat it from time to time. Thanks for this.

We always prepare some instant noodles at home in case we feel lazy cooking breakfast. It is very convenient to have instant noodles, but we try not to eat it very often, once in a while only, maybe once a fortnight. Just this morning, I cooked a pack of instant noodles. It tastes much better if cooked in the pot than soaked for some time with boiled hot water.

I always stock up on the noodles when they go on sale. I like to hit Walmart up because they offer the most variety. We had noodles a few nights ago. I had gone to the grocery store in the pouring rain and got several things for our Thanksgiving dinner. After getting home and gettind changed and putting the groceries away I did not feel like cooking. The noodles were good and helped to warm me up. I try not to eat them often because there is so much salt in them. Every once in a while its a nice change of pace though.

not as often anymore, maybe ten times or less in a year. i hope that the bed spacers will be informed of the ill effects of eating noodles daily. there are other cheap foods that will not put our lives at risk.

Noodles has too much sodium (salt) in it and it is not really healthy if to be consumed on a daily basis. As for me, I eat noodles twice a week and mostly in the mornings. Instead of noodles, you can try oatmeal for breakfast or snack or maybe munch on fruits instead.

I like to cook noodles very often whenever I feel like noodles I go and cook them. However I know most of it will be taken away by the kids in my home.
