What are you going to do with your 13th month pay?

I am really looking forward to my 13th month pay next next week. This is the fruit of my hard work for the whole year. I am planning to purchase a Washing Machine with Dryer for my mother and Grocery. Probably a brand new dress, shirt and shoes will be nice but I am not into expensive stuffs (except for make-up). I also want to buy gifts for my cousins and my family this Christmas season. Basically, I want to spend it for myself and for my family. What are you planning to do with your 13th month pay? Is it also given on the month of December or half was already provided mid year?

I just recently became active on mylot again, so there won't be enough for a payout on the thirteenth. I will however be saving up for a very personal goal this summer. You have some great ideas for your cash out. Good luck.

Hi Arieles! I was inactive for almost a year and I just started My Lot about two weeks ago. Whenever I have shift on weekends, there's a lesser work load so I can do My Lot most of the time. I will finish my work for two hours and the rest is for My Lotting.

Misunderstood your question. No, there won't be a "thirteenth" month pay or any bonus's for me.

Wow, great plans! I'm not working so I don't have 13th month pay anymore. I kinda miss that feeling of expecting to receive extra bonus from work. But, anyhow, my husband's going to get his this weekend. I hope we can finally buy a new bed or sofa set.

The sofa set just arrived the other day, and it's really nice. Now, I can invite friends to come over and be proud of our improved living room.

My thirteenth month pay is usually spent buying a lot of things, small and big, for not only my own family, but also for my relatives. It is a time when we spend the most of the year. Also we deposit the rest of it. Have a good day, chiwasaki.

Hi williamjisir! I spent most of it to my family too. I bought some bags and stuffs for me but the rest is for the family. Christmas is a season of giving. This season reminds me that God gave Jesus to us so better share all of the blessings that I am receiving.

I just started my work here in Dubai and since it is an Iraqi company, I don't think that they will give any 13th month pay. Good thing that I'll be receiving separation pay from my previous company. First, I will settle my remaining debts and share the remaining amount with my mom, dad, husband and me so that we can get to spend on something that we like whether in kind or in food. I think next year, I'll be saving bits and pieces of my allowance so I can have something more to spend next Christmas. I'll be Mylotting a lot as well and look for another part-time job to earn more income.

Hi atv818! I am also planning to save some money as well for savings. I think it is really practical to save money these day. I usuallu spent my money on food or things that can be use in our house. I don't rely on My Lot for income as I am not really good in meeting the pay out every month.

Hi chiwasaki! Congratulations! Oh Well, My 13th month pay was already gone. I received it on the first week of November and I use part of it for down payment for my new refrigerator. Some amount for the gifts I have to give to my children and relatives. It's okay for me if I have nothing left for myself as long as I am able to give to my family that would be enough for me. Merry Christmas!

Hi ARIES1973! I feel the same way. It seems like most of the part was given to my family and I am happy with that. I was planning to purchase a Washing Machine with Dryer and a Flat Screen TV as well. But probably I would need to check mu budget first after Christmas to see if there's enough to purchase these.

Since I'm one of the eldest grandchildren in the family (the third) and I'm one of the three who finish college, basically I will be a Ms. Santa. I'm a 'parent scholar' so I have to return the favor. I already bought a sliver (Italian silver) necklace for my father. I still have to buy a set for my mother. I will also buy something for my grandmother and my aunt who also helped me get to school. I owe them so much. Basically, I will spend most of it to my beloved family. Some will be more the needy children, like food for the street children and our poor neighbors. Merry Christmas. Give love. Share love.

Hi ElicBxn! Yes it is like a Christmas bonus. An additional pay for the employees worth a month of salary. This usually given at the last week of November or first week of December. This is like an extra pay for employees which will depend on the number of their working days.

Explain this '13th month pay'; is it like '12th month + Christmas bonus?' Are you asking what we'll do with our Christmas bonus? Can we declare that any income-giver which does not give a '13th month pay' is ungraceful and thus "abides in the fire" when we take residence in the "gardens with rivers flowing underneath?"

Hi mythociate! 13th month pay here in the Philippines is like a year end bonus. These are given to employees and is equivalent to your one month salary. If you started working in a company during mid-year, this will be computed prorated based on the number of months you stayed on the company. I think it is better that all companies should provide this bonus to all employees.

I'm planning to set aside my money for a gas card or store card. We need to do better on our savings and so that is what I'm working on doing. I just have to try and be very tight with my earnings.

I'm not getting a 13th month pay (or Christmas bonus, as we call it in the States). But if I were, I would probably spend it on my animals. It's wonderful that you are concerned with getting your mom some new appliances. You are a very sweet person to think that way. Best wishes! :-)

Hi edvc77! I also want to save part of it to my savings account. I was not able to save money recently due to some finances. But that is a very good suggestion. I will save even a small part of it on my saving.

I was in your country so i know what you mean by 13th month pay, here it is called yearly bonus, usually equal to one month salary by private companies and firms; no such thing in government sector. well enjoy and buy what you feel proper Thanks for sharing ..

Hi Professor2010! Yes it is 13th month pay or some call it year end bonus. It is equivalent to one month's pay. But they are deducting any absences that you incur during the year. I am excited to get this as this is my first time I will be able to get the full amount. Unlike before, it is always prorated.

Here, we don't have 13th month pay :( But there will be annual pay, given every year you; worked in the company and a plane ticket or its cost if one is not going for a vacation. What I do with that before is sent money to my parents so they can buy new things for the house. Now, what I want is to go for a vacation so my annual pay would be sent on the vacation.

Hi enelym001! I am also planning a vacation but I do not know where. There are a lot of expenses during Christmas season and it will be very difficult for me to allot money for vacation. But I think I really need that. I need a break after all.
