I'm a horror movie fanatic and prefer Vampires over Werewolves. Werewolf with Anthony Hopkins is on my tv right now only because there's nothing else to watch. The movie sux as far as I'm concerned. Vampires are handsome and romantic Werewolves are just huge dogs that turn with the moon and then turn back into men. Back in the day we had people like Christopher Lee and Bela Lugosi neither of which are handsome or sexy but did play a good Vampire. Do you have a preference Vampire or Werewolf? If you had to meet one or the other which would you choose? I'll take a hot Vampire any time.

I probably prefer vampires over werewolves, but I absolutely hate the vampire-worship that happens with writers when they make vampires far, far more powerful than werewolves. It just doesn't make any sense. True Blood, Twilight, Being Human, and I'm a sure a bunch of other shows, movies and novels -- the vampires are vastly dominant. How? The modern vampire has just turned into a zombie with better skin. Yet they've grown suspiciously faster and stronger than ever before. I find modern vampires to be phonier than ever. So, I guess, in a sense I do prefer werewolves after all. At least compared to today's vampires. Now, Bram Stoker's Dracula -- THAT'S a vampire!

Out of curiosity...what are your thoughts on Anne Rice and her Vampire novels, if you've read them?

I've read The Vampire Lestat (or at least my mind is telling me I remember reading it when I was a lot younger, but that could be one of those phony memories! lol), and I've seen Interview with the Vampire and Queen of the Damned. If these movies held somewhat true to Rice's literary works, then I think she's great at telling a compelling story about this mythical fictional creature that deserves respect. Her vampires seemed to be truly tortured souls. They seem inherently evil and human only after that, as the beast rules the body and has the soul in an unrelenting grasp. They're not one ignored loving gaze away from holding a boombox outside of a tween's window at 8 a.m. They're not superheroes with a taste for blood. They're dark and complex and conflicted. They're what my mind tells me a vampire should be.

If you're talking about the older werewolf/vampire movies, I 'd choose to meet the vampire. That's because vampires are much less scary in comparison.

Well speaking of horror movies i am also one of the horror movie lover. Comparing vampire to werewolves i would also prefer vampires coz i think vampires are much interesting than werewolves.Vampires can be more dramatic and romantic because we can somehow relate to them since they are like humans in some point.Werewolves are not that bad it's just that it is not that interesting.

Yes, vamps are much more interesting than warewolves who just sneak around hunting for their next meal. Not very interesting or even scary as far as I'm concerned.

I don't get the conflict myself. Why would they fight? Bother could kill or seriously harm the other and they don't really compete or resources.

As far as vampire or werewolf, the vampire beats it out in all area's. I do like werewolf movies made well, but the vamps are soo much more sexy, lol! Two movies that come to mind are "Dracula" with Frank Langella back in the late 70s or early 80s...loved it. And of course, one of my favorites, was "The Lost Boys" which I still like to see once in a while. Love them hot vampires!

Lost boys was an awesome movie and I watch it when I can catch it on tv. Frank Langella was one of my favorite vamps too. Very scary.

I prefer werewolves. Okay so they shed on the furniture but in European folklore they were the defenders of the community and not bad - that came later with the church propaganda. Vampires are really zombies with good PR and fashion sense. I thought Christopher Lee was quite handsome. Don't get the eternal teenager look ala Edward, the schoolboy thing is creepier than being an actual vampire! I think a lot of Hollywood vampires are too "pretty" and look over-groomed.

What's the story on werewolves and immortality? I mean, I know you can only kill them with silver bullets; but I don't think I've ever seen a werewolf die. Do they die of old age? I don't think I've ever seen a werewolf talk about its old age the way vampires do. About which one I'd rather meet/live-with (see how I skipped the whole marriage-thing there?), definitely vampiresses. Sure, they can 'vamp-up' (like the vampires on Buffy the Vampire Slayer) anytime and feast on you (whereas werewolfesses only wolf-up every full-moon, giving you plenty of warning-time to keep them safely caged); but vampiresses usually won't kill you--either keeping you alive to continue to feed on you or letting you share in their immortality--whereas werewolves will 'wolf you down' as soon as they look at you. But which would I rather be? Well, "the grass is always greener on the other side"---I'm sure there are bad things about either way that I'd wish I could change by being the other.

Of course I would prefer Vampires specially today that Twilight is very famous about having a very sexy Vampire Edward Cullen. Then there is the Vampire Diaries with the two leading man Damon and Stefan wow! Who would not want to meet those hunks? haha though it is just a story but our imaginations on vampires are really those handsome guys who juts turned into a vampire then falls in love with a human owwwww can't wait to watch the Vampire Diaries season 4 episode 10 :)

I find it amusing when some seem to like vampires and werewolves especially in movies. Could it make sense when this becomes real in life? Do people still like them ? Have a nice day!

I don't think anyone would be happy if a vampire came to life. Although we've seen through movies that their really not that bad. They don't always kill sometimes they just make another vampire.

I think most directors are also prefer Vampires than Werewolves. Werewolves are designed as stupid,human-like. They have more weaknesses. While Vampires are undefeated. The most attractive point is that Vampires always acting along, It seems cool and mysterious.
