Are People Who Re-respond (without a Reply In-Between) Trying to "Game" myLot?

I mean, I understand; sometimes the response won't seem 'submitted' until you post it twice, and sometimes you-forget something you wanted to add and then -remember it after you've posted. But does the credit-distribution formula adjust for that? or not even count 'the number of times you've added to one discussion' as a factor? The reason why I'm asking in-discussion rather than contacting myLot for the answer: to remind everyone that it matters ... or to remind them that it doesn't matter, whichever the discussion below helps decide.

I think if what I suspect is true, and what I suspect is that our posts are evaluated individually (but of course, I'm no expert! ), that if we double (or triple, in Lamby's case up there) our posts will be considered if they add anything to the discussion. So if we're correcting our spelling, which I am totally guilty of, or appear to be talking to ourselves, then I don't believe we earn anything additional. This is all based on personal suspicion though, I know nothing for certain.

"this is all based on personal suspicion" - love it! captures exactly what goes on in my head. sometimes i have a feeling i'm right and should have followed my gut. sometimes i have a feeling i'm wrong and still went on with it. of course, i'm not talking about mylot anymore. (maybe i won't be paid for being irrelevant here, but it's okay, i just couldn't resist noticing that sentence.) i do add "spell checks" and also put one-liners like "me, too" or "just want to say thank you for that" or make silly remarks without adding a response of my own, but i don't mind if i don't get paid for those either. sometimes you just can't resist joining the fun, or expressing your appreciation.

Thank you Lamby, for shattering all my hopes and dreams. Hereandthere, lol it's okay to be irrelevant on occasion. If we're not having fun around here then it's really not worth it. (I find my gut often lets me down and somebody comes along to tell me how wrong I am. It happened recently too, some guy in a Santa suit shot my personal suspicions out of the sky.)

'cause he's not really santa. he's a ninja and a grinch (though he's also a lamb).

Wow, I never thought about that! Maybe! I don't see that that often though so I don't think there's a serial reposter or something, it could had been an accident. But if people are doing that often, maybe MyLot will get them in time. After all the moderator also receive our reports when we see something wrong in here. Nice catch, maybe you found a pattern there.

So it's more like we're paid 'per relevant word' (so long as we make our responses relevant & understandable, not taking the name of the Flying Spaghetti Monster in vain, and following all the other 'rules')?

Well unless it is because I forgot something or to fix something I try not to do this. People who do this unless someone else has responded back in between will not really make anymore money so not sure why they do this. I think sometimes it is because this site is more about quality over quantity. So in reality it is best to wait til someone else responds back in between.

Who knows? One of the great mysteries of Mylotopia is the algorithm. Frankly, I stopped trying to figure it out a long time ago--I just enjoy being here, and let the pennies fall where, and when, they may.

I guess Forever_The_Lamb is an example of a myLotter who posts his responses one after the other without any response or comment in between. LOL. I guess it's alright here in myLot. There's no such rule, am I right? I sometimes do that but I don't care if it's counted or not. I do it when I have some corrections in my responses or comments such as wrong wordsor misspelling some words. @Forever_The_Lamb Sorry for mentioning your name here. Hope you won't mind. Thanks.
