I never report discussion here but today I think I've just had it with discussions that ask a question and in the details just put yes or no! This is not going by the rules and a great percent of mylotters follow all the rules so why can't they? Do they really think their discussion won't get deleted? I don't want to come off as mean but I just reported a discussion like that. We all work really hard to earn the little bit that we do but we do it the right way! Do you report discussions that you know the writer hasn't even thought about and your killing yourself to write as much as you can about a subject that is important to you?

I report every time I see a violation. I don't look at the user (unless the post is plagiarised when I check their profile to see if there are more) and just report. Admin then deals with the reports and if indeed it is a violation then it will be removed. It is up to all of us to keep myLot filled with quality and we should, as we are asked to in the Guidelines, report anything that should not be here. It is not being mean at all. It is having a sense of duty towatrds the community that you are part of. Admin cannot possibly see everything therefore if we want myLot to stay the way it is, and keep paying too, we should help out when we can.

It seems to me that mylot admin is pretty well on top of things. I've yet to see any plagarism but I'm sure it's out there and would report it if I saw it.

They don't stay up long. There was a user here this weekend and all of their posts were plagiaeised. They no longer have an account here

If someone is posting poll questions, that is a violation of the rules of the site. Reporting such a discussion is what you should do. Some people really don't care what the rules are on the sites they join. Then, when they are penalized by the sites, they often cry foul. While the rules on some sites are not terribly clear, that is not the case here. Poll-type questions are in violation of the rules of this site. It is a good guideline, since the site would otherwise be flooded with "discussions" that are not in fact discussions but, rather, one or two word answers in response to a one-line post.

Your right...mylot has put it's rules and faq's in a very easy to understand way. I just don't understand why people don't read them and do what their supposed to do..

just think of it as safeguarding the community. myLot after all is one. I share your sentiments actually. As much as possible, I try not to report or even rate negatively a fellow member. I try to respect and value each and everyone's opinion. But sometimes there are those who really abuse their sort of right of expression. Others similar to what you encountered seemed also to have forgotten that this is a discussion-type of community. A yes or no response isn't expressing one's opinion. It's just simple laziness and ignorance, thinking that they'll be credited for such a response.

I especially don't appreciate the discussion that contain links and nothing else! Good way to get deleted!

I don't report discussions, as I usually try to avoid questions where they are asking just a "yes" or "no" question. Most of the times, I don't have this problem though I know it does occur occasionally. I'm not sure why some people ask a yes or no question when the guidelines clearly state those are inappropriate questions. People really want to go into detail, especially when they are passionate about a subject. Sometimes I really have to think about a question and how I want to ask it so it's not a simple yes or no.

I think mylot admin is too busy to find every discussion that should be deleted and they need us to give them a heads up! It's very hard to discuss something when all you can say is yes or no to it. Their not being fair to us are they!

Fortunately I have never come across any discussion that violated the guideline or that needs to be reported as abuse here.Sometimes I see discussions that,in my opinion, violate guidelines.I don't respond to them.I simply skip them and proceed ahead.I don't think I can report any discussion. In fact,it hurts me as it may hurt to the initiator of the discussion.Even rating a discussion negative is difficult for me.May be this is my minus point.

I can't tell you how many discussion I have seen that violate mylot rules. There was one person who was plagerising discussions...stealing them from other members or found somewhere else. From what I can see they are no longer members here and shouldn't be because the rest of us follow the rules.

Yeah I saw these discussions, I think she made ten of that yes or no post. I think she is not aware that she's doing a violation already by posting such. I don't report though, mylot's going to find out anyway.

I think too many people come on mylot without reading the rules! I don't understand why they do that. I'm sure when they join other sites they look at rules and faq's.

When it comes to discussions that just ask a question with yes or no, I basically ignore them. I know I should reprot them, but I figured that someones else would have reported it anyway. To me, they aren't discussions, they shouldn't be posted. There is a question and answer category for questions, so they should really put them there, however, one liners, aren't of a good quality anyway. I have responded to to the question discussions in the past though, but, now, I just don't bother with them. I figure that if they aren't going to take the time to post a quality discussion, then I am not going to take the time to respond to them. basically, they haven't read the guidelines, or they would stop posting those in the first place. There are way to many quality discussions out there, not to bother with the question ones. Take care, and have fun mylotting.

You shouldn't assume that someone else is going to report a discussion. Mylot admin I"m sure is very busy and can't catch everyone of them.

I do report on such discussions that I see that do not follow mylot rules. I too think it is so unfair how people try to bypass all the rules and really they won't get anywhere with what they are doing. If you can't follow the rules then you shouldn't come on here is just my opinion. I don't think that it is mean at all when you report people though.

I don't think it's mean either. I think it's helpful to other mylot members and to admin. I think it's part of our job here to let them know there are members who aren't following the rules.

The 'yes-or-no question'-rule is that you shouldn't RESPOND with just a yes-or-no. If you read a start that you can only answer with a yes or no, don't respond! Those types of questions have what I like to call an 'implied Why?'---remember to include your reasons.

Well, I have reported a discussion once. His post has something to do with *** and he uses some words that are not good to use or is / are not appropriate to use. After that, I can't remember anything anymore which I reported. If I see a discussion which doesn't have a sense, I just ignore it and move on. I don't normally respond to it because I know that in the near future it will be deleted.

I never experienced reporting a discussion. But I did experienced being reported here once. But that was because I didn't know the rules, and it happened a few years back, back when I was not so matured. And about what you said, I quote, "your killing yourself to write," hmm. You're saying you are not being mean, but you are. That's quite confusing buddy. Try to calm down a bit. Heh. Just saying, bud. Don't be angry with me.
