Stress in individuals is defined as any interference that disturbs a person's healthy mental and physical well being. It occurs when the body is required to perform beyond its normal range of capabilities. Stress is produced by high demands in life combined with high constraints and little support from colleagues and family. The results of stress are harmful to individuals, families and society. There is no formula guaranteeing a stress free life, but some techniques to minimize it. **Take a stroll when you are stressed. It can help to restore your perspective. **When you feel you have too much to do, delegate at least one task. **Learn from those who do not suffer from stress. **Do not ignore your problems, acknowledge them as they arise. **Do not make major decisions quickly. **Relieve pressure by discussing work problems openly. **Spend an hour or two alone each week, away from work and family. **Assess the stress factors of any new job before accepting. **Try to take a five minutes break from your work every hour or so. **Always be flexible in your attitudes--you may not know the full story. **Practice yoga or similar exercise routine to help you relax.

Wow! You seem like a philosopher or an expert in stress management. You are definitely a wise person. Those people work under stressful environment especially CEO of big multinational companies need to consult you for an advice or two. You can then make money and charge them USD 20,000.00 for an hour session. That is good money,eh?

I don't believe that there is a person among us that doesn't deal with a lot of stress in their lives on a regular basis. I know that I've been dealing with an unhealthy level of stress for months and it has caused me to have other physical ailments as well. The main thing that I try to do is to carve out a section of time every week where I am just able to get into the bathtub and soak and read a book. For me that is a great way to relax.

This is good advise as I am practicing the other exercises already. In our home that I live it is pure of negative things and people here are always into verbal abuse. As much as I want to stay away of course it wouldn't be easy for me because they are my family. I want with people who are into positive when they speak. Though I am doing my cardio Kung Fu to release my stress.

These are all good tips. I live with alot of stress having a grandson with ODD and a daughter who is bi-polar. I feel that I am allergic to it because I shake, break out in a rash and react much like I would if allergic to something. Acknowledging and communicating can help.

These are great ideas, thank you so much for sharing. I like taking a nice hot bath or taking a nice long walk. Yoga is a great practice to get into because stretching your muscles can increase your circulation and make you feel better. It's those feel good endorphins.

Thanks for sharing your views & detailed options to get rid if stress. One can also listen to music, go for aroma therapy, spa which shows unbelievable results. Practicing " reiki "( self healing/touch therapy ) too works as 'wonder ' in this regard.
