Wearing A "Fur" Coat. :)

First off, no animals were harmed in the creation of my "fur" coat. My orange and white cat Shakti sheds so much hair, that it covers everything. Our duvet colour, my coat, our clothes... Unfortunately my black coat has so much hair on it it's almost an orangish grey. I've had a few comments on the fur that just won't come off (it will but it'll only be replaced by the fur floating around in the air) and to them I have said this. "A lot of people pay thousands of dollars to wear fur coats, in which an animal was murdered, so it could be skined, and it's fur turned into a coat. Those people have benefited from the death of an animal, and then set themselves up to have their coat spraypainted by an over-zealous animal activist. I, on the other hand, paid $50 for a black coat, which my cat covered in cat love, all for free. He is still very much alive, very much loved, and in very good spirits." Do your cats leave their live all over your clothes? How do you handle people's reactions to that fact?

Haha, a fur coat :D. Adorable. Unfortunately, I'm allergic for cat fur... or basically any kind of animal fur... but I love cat. It's just I couldn't keep them as pets for a longer time without having a runny nose and seizures.

That sounds like my house I have found with using salmon oil with mine, their fur doesn't fall out as much. But still there are some random strands that are around, I know especially if I wear black, or darker colour. But what I find worse now is that my rabbit chews everything, I swear he has chewed every piece of clothing, and I don't have money to constantly replace it, so I walk around with holes, not giant ones, but noticeable. I have had many comment, and normally it's from those who don't have animals, nor would they get any. All those that do joke and laugh over it.

Harmony sheds wherever she likes to nest, like the bed or side chair. So every once in a while I take one of those "magic brushes" and brush most of it off. (There's always a few hairs that just stick as if they were glued on.)

hi danishcanadian love your explanation of your exotic cat f ur covered coat. .lol., I used to find Midnights black hair all over my white and tan shorts. But we loved her too much to really care. I cried when I learned we had to find a new home for her as no apartments would let us have a cat. but I found the perfect person who loved her, my mom. this was a very long time ago.

My cats try to lay claim to my wardrobe. That is why the stuff gets hung up or folded and put out of their little kitty clutches. I generally try to get dressed to go out right before I'm going out the door. Otherwise, I will have a cat on my lap, another rubbing against my leg and a third trying to figure out how to dislodge one of the other two so that (s)he can take over the spot and add to the fur.
