What Question Should the Keywords Here Think of Answering?

I think the keywords should answer the question "What keywords do you think other discussions like this one use?" It's important that members know this, because keywords play 'a big role' (if not 'the only role) in deciding which discussions are "related." And I get kind of annoyed when someone gives a keyword (or key-phrase) that doesn't match any other discussions (yes, that means getting mad at myself oftentimes too!) What do YOU think a good question to ask yourself when you're choosing keywords?

I think the question should be "What keywords apply to this discussion?" If we add accurate tags, then the discussions that come up at the side and bottom of the page will really be related to the current one. It doesn't annoy me when someone adds tags that don't match other discussions. The only thing that really gets to me here is when the tag troll(s) strike because those tags are added just to insult the discussion starter and they're completely worthless.

hi grugal mommy if someone adds an insulting tag to your discussin or someone elses you can report it as the admind does not want us to use insutling tags.

Oh, I do report them when I see them. Some of them are so hateful... we don't need that here.

Is there a separate link for reporting tags, or do you use the same link as if you're reporting the whole discussion?

Oh wow, thanks for opening me up to this,mi never really thought about it, i just type in keywords. Any keyword i could think of that says something about what I've posted. If i mention Facebook, i put on Facebook, if i talk about my ex i put it there without really considering if other people had put it there too. I use the tags for my own benefit because searching for discussions using the mylot search engine shows better results than actually typing in the title of the discussion. I dont really know why that is so.

I guess it's sorta like 'ripples on the pond' ... could be useful as "sonar" (to bring similar discussions closer together), but if you don't care then it doesn't matter much.

HI mythociate to me its got to lead me to the topic and that part of the topic do I ant to discuss like if I am talking about good schools versus bad schools I need soem keywords telling what schools I feel are good. But again when I made a second discussion based o n the homeless woman in the alley I used Epic end meaning the final outcome of her and what really happened. You must have a very high IQ as I am gifted and cannot quite reach your thinking either. That is meant as a complement

I notice that too. Some additional tagged keywords added to the discussions are not related to the original topic. I think the simpler and concise the keywords there already are provided then there's no need for me to add more. I would just hit Skip instead of submitting unrelated new tags.

I think they do this to increase the viewers for their discussion, it is like tag hoarding or abusing tags. They post tags unrelated to the discussion so that more people can see it and stumble upon it, i think it only works at the start though. I think search engines know that the tags are getting spammy. I do hit skip too but then it gets annoying because everytime i post something new on the discussion, it never stops asking me for tags.

Hi,interesting question and a fact. Thanks for sharing..the keyword space should be filled with the proper word having all the related meanings to the discussion answered or asked which helps in getting good responses or responding..good luck

Hey there, if we start giving a large number of keywords than there would be no reason to write the full post. Keywords are there just to give a hint about the post so that the reader gets an idea what the other person would have written. I think you have understood what i try to convey to you...

Well, it's more-like 'what the subject of your part of the discussion is.' Like 'what would other discussions like this one be about?'
