How do you feel about this? We have many friends who vacation with their club or other group. What do you think? I have only vacationed with my family, often we have met up with others we knew and that was preplanned, but most of the vacation was done on our own. I'm talking about road trips here.

It is a good idea also. however, it is better if there are 5-6 people in a group only. If there are many people, it is difficult to have the same idea of visiting, eating, etc...

I agree more than 3-4 is crowd as far such trips are concerned. I would prefer to go with one or two though.

It would be fun! We are the opposite actually. Been to a lot of vacations with close friends, we'd argue over where to eat and which way to follow but we would always end up enjoying every single walk and every teasing. Also, you'll have freedom to do more things than when you are with family because you'd always prioritize family safety. With friends, going into much adventure and challenge is exciting. Example: I would rather stay in a room while it's comfortable for the night with the family than go sleep on a camping tent at the peak of the mountain. Or I would eat on a restaurant where the family is compared to just pick up some fruits on a trek to the mountain. Try it :)

I have joined a couple of road trips with friends. It is quite fun and different from the usual family vacation. The activities and itineraries will be different too. Once in a while having this kind of trip is really good, friends bonding is important too. I and my ex-colleague was thinking of a 2 day 1 night road trip in this coming April.

I always do that..I both like traveling with friends and family, but I did it in a separate travel.. I usually go on vacation with my friends just to release stress from work for atleast once a year. And most of the time went to my hometown where my parents resides and take a few days there for a vacation.

Group traveling is lot of fun especially by car where you have options to stay at places of your choice or wherever you find a place to stop for mini picnic. I have had many such opportunities with friends when we started for a particular place and never reached to the actual destination because we spent lot of time on the way itself. Not disappointed though.

i don't feel comfortable having other people in a vacation. Such scary for me... I don't know about this but I feel awkward. However, if the other family members are okay with it I can go along the flow.

That is not something I would be comfortable with to be honest, whenever I travel I prefer to go alone, that way I can please myself, go where I want, when I want without compromise. I guess it's down to personal choice. Mind you I don't socialize at all. I have anxiety issues and I just don't 'mix' I am more comfortable in my own company than with anyone else.

WOW!! I love road trips especially if i am with my friends who are very close to me. I have gone on road trips before with my BF and his family, or friends... well it sure was really a great experience and i like that it is planned, not something we thought of suddenly and go - i need to plan for road trips so i know that we got everything covered as well. :)

I usually travel alone... Either that or with my girlfriend & my daughter... There are times I took a trip for work related reasons & I've been with whole bunch of people but that's little different... I usually like traveling alone...

Some years ago I travelled with a large group. We rented a bus and went to Italy together. It was a nice trip and we visited many different places, but it was hard to agree about the places that we wanted to visit and the things we wanted to do during the trip. Most of the time we divided our group in smaller groups and did different things. In the evening we met and had dinner together. It was a lot of fun to have dinner in a large group, but I don't think that it would have been realistic to spend all day together because we had different wishes. Since that time I haven't travelled in a group. I am married now and my husband and I travel together. I love travelling with my husband.

I've never tried to have vacation or even road trip with friends, it's always been with my family and relatives. As much as we want then it conflicts with out schedule.

I think that it is fun but I really have not joined my friends with such vacations. I just always have vacations with the family.

What a coincident, my colleagues here have gone yesterday to have a trip to our Boracay Island. I also have tried having a vacation with some close friends from the office some years ago. It was also fun because you get to travel with somebody new. I mean yes I know them in the office. We hang out sometimes. But travelling is different because you get to be together all throughout the travel period. So I got to know them better.

This was something that I did quite often when I was younger as I didn't have the knowledge to plan my own vacations and it was also something that saved me quite a bit of money as well. However, that isn't something that I think would be a good idea for me now based on where I am in my life right now. I think that group vacations are a great idea for younger people or for older people, but I really don't think they are a great idea for someone like me that is still the mother of younger children.

I have tried taking a vacation with a group. It's a local online forum here in the country and we decided to see each other. We're a group of 20 and decided to meet up in a province. Upon reaching the said province, we took a bus for 6 hours then a boat going to the island (beach resort) and stayed for 4 days and three nights. It was a fun experience and we had some water activities. Ghost hunting at night instead of drinking. We were running like children and it was fun to meet the people I only talk to the net.
