I've tried cutting Marco's nails, and cleaning his bum. Well it's like world war 2, and he fights, I get no where but bruises, and he defeats me. A girl I volunteer with said she would cut his nails and wash his bum for free. I asked my vet and it would be $65. I don't have that money right now. I told her I know if someone else does it, and we are somewhere else he will sit and take it. Whereas at home it's not going to happen.

I know exactly what you mean about your pets not tolerating the nail cutting and such at home as that is exactly the way that my dogs are. When they need to have their nails trimmed, I typically end up taking them over to my mother's house and I will help her cut their nails. First of all they tolerate it a lot better when it isn't at home and secondly, it really is a lot easier to cut an animals nails when you have assistance as opposed to doing it by yourself.

I think that is all it is, he is fine when someone else does it, and he is out of his environment. Plus, it;s where I got him from so I am sure the smells got him wondering.

It will, it can cause a lot of skin irritation.

hi Ricki well at 65 dollars for bum washing as opposed to free I would sure let the girl you volunteer with cut his nails and wash his bum. Guess he sees you as mom so maybe he will cooperate with the girl who said she would do it.

It takes two people to cut my rabbit's nails. Either my mom or I will hold him in our lap on his back and just rub his cheeks. He always gets so sleepy when he's on his back and then my dad has time to clip his nails while he's all sleepy. I'm not sure if all rabbits like being on their backs but mine loves it. I've never tried washing him though so I'm not sure how it would turn out. Maybe try using a baby wipe? Or if you want to use water maybe fill up a sink and only dip his hind end in the water and then take him out and try to clean up the area. I hope you find something that works out!
