we don't do it every night, but at least three nights out of the week. we don't have to do it. my kids have their own room, but we just like it that way with all of us and our animals. we fall asleep either reading a story or watching a movie together. sometimes we are alseep at different times. for example, my son and i are up now. my daughter and my husband are still in bed sleeping in next to me, while i am on my lap top. it's is just cozy all together. we got into that habit when we were homeless and sleeping in hotels.

That just shows you are a very close family, and it is both wonderful and refreshing to hear. When I was young, I hated thunderstorms, they scared me witless, and I would grab my blanket, my pillow and a favourite bear and I would run into my parents room, if dad heard me he would send me back to my room, he didn't care, most of the time he was a heavy sleeper so I was able to creep in, and I lie on the floor next to my mum where I felt safe. I have to admit even as an adult thunderstorms still scare me!

Some families are like that.. and it's fine if it's what you want. I like having my space when I sleep. I don't even like to share my bed with my husband. I'm most comfortable when he's sleeping on the sofa. It's not because I don't like him or anything.. I just like to have space.

that's no problem. some people are just naturally like that where they want their own space. there are times i get that when i need it. mostly, i like being in pack with the family.

My kids start in their own rooms and beds but at least one ends up in our bed through out the night at some point. Lol, I think they just sleep better when we are close by, it's a comfort thing most definitely. =)
