He seems to be a very practical preacher---giving us The Word in a way that we can use it. See http://intouch.org/podcasts & tell me what you think!

I'm not one for listening much to others talk about what the Bible says, or to preaching.. Some might think that's bad, but there's some false things which have "crept in unawares" that I cannot abide. ('Hell' is a mistranslation and all the verses which say all will be rescued, all things made new, etc, are overlooked, not sure why, indoctrination I guess.) I do listen to the radio when driving however (about once a week). Dr. Charles Stanley sounds very down to earth, I like to listen to him, though I like the Intelligent Design programs better, and also my local station for politics!

That stuff creeps in because religion has this strange need to 'make sense': That's a disagreement-point that separates me from A LOT of churches. Even in Charles Stanley's "In Touch"-'Dailies' today, Dr. Stanley stated in no uncertain terms that 'G*d wants us to comprehend His Truth' ... NO HE SO DOES NOT!! (I don't want to sound like a 'radical dissenter' here, but) If we could 'comprehend His Truth,' we wouldn't have any need for Him! "My reason is above your reason," G*d said to Job (the rich man whom Satan had just vexed, killing his children, ruining his crops and infecting him with boils). Lots of people think that only applies to Job--that we know what G*d was thinking--but I KNOW G*d's words to Job remain true today. In Jesus' day, His disciples were expecting Him to break out the artillery & lead the charge against Rome! He never did, & He never instructed His disciples to after His Resurrection! So why are Bible-thumpers expecting him to now?

Basically, Heaven & Hell are the same place. The UnSaved just don't feel like they 'belong' there, because they don't deserve it; the Saved know they don't 'deserve' it either, but they know they belong because Our Father gave it to us!
